I was in Batam for 2 days. On the second day of our itinerary, we visited the Batam Layer Cake factory, the Cheng Ho Mosque and this Miniature House before proceeding for our seafood lunch at Golden Prawn Seafood Restaurant.
All these attractions are located within the Golden City of Bengkong. a suburban town from Nagoya. Nagoya is the Orchard Road of Batam while Bengkong is probably the Toa Payoh of Batam. The tour guide told us that if you ride a motorcycle with more than one pillion rider in Nagoya, you will be caught and summoned by the Batam Police but in Bengkong, the enforcement is more lax here than in Nagoya. The motorcyclist can can have more than 5 pillion riders with him on a motorcycle and no one would bother to take a second look at him.
This miniature house is just located opposite the Golden View Hotel and beside the Golden Go Kart. The various miniature houses are replicas of the traditional Indonesian houses that are found in various parts of Indonesia. Admission is free. The guide gave us 20 mins to explore the attraction. He warned that there are mosquitoes and suggested those not visiting the attraction can stay in an air-conditioned shop nearby or ride the gold kart in the circuit nearby. The weather was hot and I rather visit the miniature house than to suffer sunburn riding the gold kart.
There are not many miniature houses. One website indicated that there are 30 of them in 2015 but it seem the number is dwindling. Nevertheless, the replicas are impressive and demonstrated the unique traditional architectural genius of the Indonesian people. The locations where the actual cultural houses were found.
The place is a bit of a run down but for something without admission fee, this is not a bad attraction to visit.
The drains surrounding this attraction were filled with smelly debris and stagnant water. Many are terribly choked and probably formed breeding grounds for mosquitoes. In order to attract more people to visit the Golden City, efforts must be made to clear up all these choked drains. They are unsightly and are environmental hazards.
We understand the ambition of the owner to make this Golden City in Bengkong a one stop tourist center with seafood restaurant, hotels, shops and entertainment outlets all focused in one area for the convenience of the tourists. But the threats of Zikar virus and dengue may dissuade visitors if the surrounding environment is not properly maintained.

Small garden area with miniature models of traditional Indonesian houses. Good for a quick look around. No admission charges.

It's a bit away from the malls of Batam, although for us, that was one of the attractions -- to see something besides a shopping center. We were on a day trip to Batam from Singapore. The area is sort of isolated and lonely, however, the houses are cute and strolling around them is free. Adjacent to them is a little park of animal statues.

Interesting exhibition in a park. More suited for younger children, but gives adults an eye-opener to the past.

There are many different styles from different parts of Indonesia. A great place to take some photos with friends. You can easily spend an hour or two here looking at the different houses from the different islands of Indonesian archipelago. There is eateries nearby as well as a go kart place across the road from the miniature park. The batik outlet is also in its vicinity.

It’s a small park with mini houses, FOC entry. Quite interesting to see initially, the miniatures replicates were not really intricate, just passable. There was no English write up so we didn’t know what the respective buildings were. We went on a rainy day and the path was wet and flooded, the mud and grass surrounding the miniature houses were also flooded. The whole area was abit rundown, local children were climbing all over the miniature houses, area was infested with mosquitoes.
Warning of a “Hello Kitty” mascot. He is walking around the area and will approach and be friendly and nice to you and ask you to take photo with him and then demand IDR10k from you! So when your Parents says beware of strangers, strange cats included!
The experience is not enjoyable. Will not recommend visiting if you have better things to spend your time on.

Yeap, it's a mini park filled with tiny replicas of various buildings. If you happen to be in the area, it'll be fine to visit. If not, don't bother going.

I recommend to visit The Illusion instead, but you can mention Miniature House as your destination to the taxi driver as they are more familiar with this place. Outlet stores and Go-kart track are here as well.
It's just a bunch of few small miniatures and lots of mosquitoes. Takes you less than 15 minutes to see. A local cat happened to be sleeping under one of the miniatures and came to greet us.
There is no admission fee.

Hi. Admission is free. Not too sure about the transportation options though. I joined a private day tour and this was one of the places we visited.
