in the museum state negeri sembilan, Instead of presenting a rich culture, you will see only the propaganda presentations of the Malayas (who rule the country). There is no mention of Chinese or Indians in the museum. And yet Malaysians are the three main ethnic groups. Majority of the population, belong to several clearly defined racial groups within the country with their own distinct cultures and traditions: Malays, Orang Asli (aboriginal population), Malaysian Chinese (primarily Han Chinese), Malaysian Indians (primarily Tamils).

The place was quite quiet and peaceful , even though its a Sunday. The museum entry is free & it opens till 6pm.
I came here without knowing anything about negeri sembilan but I went home, having learnt some historical things regarding this state.
In the museum itself, you will be able to read regarding the political, economical and social issues faced by this state in the past.
Outside the museum, there are two houses that was used in the past. We were able to get in into the first house, that has information on how weddings are done & the different layouts of a traditional negeri sembilan houses.

Too little visitors come here considering that this is a cultural museum. If you have no other place to visit in Seremban then it is one of the places to go. You may take your time to roam around as the area is too small, maybe maximum of 1 hour is enough for you to
capture the history. There is a Shopping complex & Mc Donald's nearby, just 2 minutes walk. There is also a good chocolate shop around. Palm Mall is also nearby.

We visited this complex by taxi. it is a bit out of the way so my advice is to do what we did in that case and take a card to allow you to call a cab at the end. The driver arrived in just over five minutes. I was surprised to find this museum was free, given the amount of display material labelled in Malay and English. The detailed history of the state and the sultan is very interesting. Outside there are two houses to visit. You will need to take shoes off to enter as is the custom in Malaya and beware as the doors are very low so watch out for your heads as I whacked mine hard! The style of architecture reflects the traditional water buffalo head and horns. The staff were welcoming. There are toilets outside but no cafe.

We went on a day trip to Sembilan from KL using the train. Didn’t really go as planned as I fell over at the train station but what lovely people! The train guard and the policeman insisted that I sit down and have my knee looked at. Dettol, antiseptic cream, iodine and a huge bandage later we were sent on our way, with a taxi organised and feeling very well cared for. Museum is free and again hosted by lovely people. Most of the exhibits have English translations. The buildings are beautiful. There is no cafe but a shopping complex near by with a wide range of food. Again great service. And a chocolate shop who is not on trip advisor yet but should be. The lady there phoned us another taxi and was super lovely. May not be the most picturesque town but the people are so kind and we had a lovely time.

One look and it was exciting. Entrance is free. The main complex named Teratak Perpatih was nicely done up as a mini museum, just the ground floor. Outside there is the replica of a palace and a house. You may climb up and visit the inside of the buildings but it is dark and hot inside. No more interesting. Only the carvings and designs are pretty. A couple of small cannons on the grass. A boat. That's it! You will be done in half hour.
