It’s an outdoor food hall that’s a bit off the city—perfect for people who are staying in this neighborhood—it’s an outdoor spot if it’s rainy—it’s pretty big, unlike a city where a car can drive through, but it’s a food hall.
There's a lot of restaurants, just you walk to order, and he'll come to the table, tell him the table, and he'll pick up the table again.

部分小販態度十分惡劣,商業化得很厲害,小販105號水果汁,是我在my遇到態度最差的人,會把人趕走,完全不禮貌,可以不用光顧。 People in there are not very welcome and polite and it becomes more commercial. Stall 105 fruits juice, the woman is the worst person that I have ever met in my, she pushed me out and impolite, don’t recommend.

A beautiful place, a street, an embankment with a row of modern skyscrapers. This is from afar. Who brought me here at 13.00? For some reason I chose this hottest period of the day. I was hoping for a breeze and some clouds. The clouds have gone and the breeze has disappeared. I ended up in real hell. Complete calm and 34 degrees in the shade. But this very shadow is not there. The trees are all young. There are no crowns. A 20-minute walk under the scorching sun was enough for me. For another 10 minutes, I, gradually softening and melting as I went, like a piece of butter, ran to the nearest building. The coolness of the shopping center turned out to be heaven! In order. The entire embankment, all 3 kilometers, is now being rebuilt. A piece of approximately 800 meters is ready. A large tongue of sand, refined and draped with greenery, on the site of an old bay. Rare trees, from the crowns of which there is no shadow yet. But everything was done very well. For the tenth anniversary. The tile is adjusted. There is a walking promenade below, right next to the water. An excellent multifunctional large children's playground and a skate track next to it. Work continues further west along the coast. The former low-water area has already been filled up, partially fenced off from the water by fender slabs, and equipment is actively working on it. The time will come - the work will end, the trees will grow, and then this is where paradise will be.

Long awaited park a total let down for my family!
Public parks are meant to be shared spaces that foster community engagement, recreation, and a sense of well-being. However, the current policy prohibiting pets, even when leashed, seems to contradict the very essence of inclusivity. Pet ownership is a common and cherished aspect of many families' lives, promoting outdoor activities, exercise, and socialization.
By implementing such a restrictive policy, the management is inadvertently limiting the accessibility of these public spaces to a significant portion of the community. It's crucial to recognize that responsible pet owners, who ensure their animals are well-behaved and kept on leashes, can coexist harmoniously with other park-goers.
Moreover, promoting a pet-friendly environment aligns with global trends where cities are adapting policies to accommodate the needs of pet owners. Numerous studies have shown the positive impact of pets on mental and physical health. Allowing pets on leashes in public parks not only enhances the well-being of pet owners but also contributes to a more vibrant and diverse community life.
The call for a reconsideration of the current policy is not an attempt to undermine the importance of rules and regulations in public spaces. Rather, it is a plea for a balanced and inclusive approach that accommodates the diverse needs of the community. The management should actively engage with the public, seeking input and feedback, to arrive at a policy that strikes a fair balance between pet owners and non-pet owners.
In conclusion, Penang's public parks have the potential to become even more enriching spaces for the entire community if we embrace a pet-friendly policy that allows well-behaved animals on leashes. It's time for the management to reassess their current stance, recognizing the benefits of inclusivity and the positive impact it can have on the well-being of the community as a whole.

We had reservations on Gurney Drive after reading so many negative reviews. It turns out that it is still the prime place to sample Malaysian street food. The small area has a nice collection of hawker stalls that serve quick meals from barbecue to Penang's signature char kway teow. It is also quite easy to find a table now and enjoy freshly made delicacies. Price is simply cheap.

Nothing much to see & do except rows & rows of hawker stalls.
There was no beachfront due to land reclamation.
Also.... not sure if it's pollution or improper sewage systems but the ocean water present at the reclaimed land smelled bad.

One of the food heaven in Penang (recommended by my friends who lived in Penang). They serve various kinds of dishes in this place and there is also divided into two part which is Halal and non-Halal. I woud like to recommend to try out the Wan Than Mee here.

Will Gurney Drive will be open on the first celebration of Chinese New Year?
Rédigé le 31 janvier 2018
Hi "Vivi X": Gurney Drive is a long road along the Straits of Malacca. On the Western end there are two large shopping Malls and a food court. On the Eastern end there are many condos and a few hotels. In the Middle, there are some very interesting places to eat. The shops in the shopping Malls are open every day of the year.... BUT, I would suspect that many [definitely not all] of the Chinese workers and owners may be celebrating!! There will also be many, many people celebrating on Gurney Drive and elsewhere in Penang!!!
I hope that this was helpful....

Hi:
Interesting question.... It really depends on what you appreciate/like to do when you travel!! Chulia street is a historically active, diverse street that is frequented by locals--- and not many tourists. The restaurants are more "authentic" and locally owned. Gurney drive is more modern with two very large Malls, many restaurant chains and lots of imported stuff for "tourists" [some of whom are also Malaysian--- not from Penang. It also has a long gracious walk along what was once the Straits of Malacca-- but is now a huge "land reclamation project"!!
I prefer Chulia street to wonder down and get a feel for what Penang culture is, and has been like!!

Hi, my wife and I are interested in staying in your hotel for 3 nights in early September.
You advertise that you do tours. Can you give some examples of where you go and what are the prices involved?
Thank you.
