It is nice to see this kind of exhibition with those Orang Asli traditional costumes and their lifestyle through documentation. We examined that there's low in maintenance with some cracked mannequins and the vandalism. Although it is free entrance, it is not suitable for travellers.

Yes its a bit of a drive out of KL but drive through little villages and beautiful countryside and really, 20 mins from KL?
Very modern and clean and great information. I thought it was one of the nicest museum in KL and recently I have been to nearly all of them...
Who knew that rattan was made into so many things? Who knew about all these now lost tribes of Malaysia?
It was great. Negative comments on TA about a perfectly good little museum isn't going to boost the footfall. Take a drive, take 40 mins to look and see different things in KL that doesn't involve condos and cement and traffic.

Visited this museum on the recommendation of my guidebook. I was the only guest there, and I got the impression that wasn't unusual. The museum itself was relatively small, but did include several exhibits about Orang Asli culture and history. The exhibit on weddings was particularly interesting. However, there just wasn't all that much there.
All in all, it probably isn't worth the trip by itself, especially factoring in the long drive to and from Kuala Lumpur. Even those particularly interested in the Orang Asli are likely better suited by going to the National Museum complex in downtown Kuala Lumpur, which also has a museum devoted to this tribe. But if you're in that part of the region anyways (such as if you're visiting the Batu Caves, which are also north of the city), it's an interesting side trip on the way back to town. And if you want something far from the beaten track, this is definitely one such place.

Well worth the drive out into the nether regions of KL, a hidden treasure. The history, customs, traditions and culture of the Orang Asli are preserved and wonderfully presented in this modern museum. Visiting hours : Saturday - Thursday : 9AM - 5PM, Closed on Friday. No charge to enter.
