We have been coming the Broadway Across America/Austin here for many years. We have wonderful experiences WHILE we are IN the facility. I do not know what they are trying to do with exiting the parking garage, but it ruins the entire day. There is going to be an accident or major road rage in that place. Ever since they have added parking attendants to help with exiting the garage, it takes so much longer. All they have done is create insane gridlock. Where it used to take us 15 min max to get out it now takes up to an hour. My husband has threatened me with not renewing our season tickets it is THAT bad.

Bass is a great place to see events. We enjoyed the play this time but they offer many types of events. It is large but well run. I would give more stars but parking and traffic were predictably awful. The facility is excellent.

I received tickets from @YelpAustin to see Come From Away this evening and I have to say that the experience was truly rewarding. My wife and I made a date of it--and found free parking not too far away if you don't mind a small walk to Bass Concert Hall at UT from the back-in spots on Dean Keaton. The San Jacinto parking garage is a little closer for $15 and I saw Valet available too. Honestly, I think the way to go is to eat at the Carillon (ATT Conference Center restaurant) on the other side of the stadium (free validated parking) and the leisurely walk on up or take a 2-min. Lyft. The 3-course tasting menu with paired drinks is my fave at the Carillon, but I digress. Bass Concert Hall is a great venue and this Broadway musical in Austin was real fun. I think I need to get season tickets as everytime I come to something, I always say I should get out more with cultural things in Austin. Drinks are expensive at Bass, as is food, so it really is worth dropping that $$ at the Carillon before hand--a hidden Austin gem.

Couldn't be a better venue for Broadway shows. Whole process of admission was well organized and personnel working were so friendly and helpful. Comfortable seating and the show was fantastic.

My teen daughter and I had previously tried to see Hamilton in another city and had a bad experience with bogus tickets and did not get into the theater.(Saenger in New Orleans). I spent three hours in a virtual waiting room and scored tickets to this show and picked them up at Will Call without a hitch. Almost cried when we actually got into the venue. The place is huge! Our seats were in top balcony nosebleed but still awesome. We could see and hear everything fine. This show had a theater in the round which really added to the experience. Well placed bathrooms, overpriced wine. Seats were comfortable and even though there were probably 3k people in there it didn't feel claustrophobic. We got a seat in waiting area and my daughter drew on a large wall board. There was such a positive vibe the night we were there. Maybe it was the show we saw. I would certainly say I would come again in the future. Flew from Florida to see this thing. Thank you Bass Concert Hall!

What was supposed to be a lovely evening at the theater to watch Les Miserables was thoroughly ruined by the venues staff and security policies. We arrived plenty early (or so we thought) until we got static at the door due to my sister's clutch was a half inch bigger than their laminated measuring card. She then had to leave and pay for a locker. By the time we got inside and took a bathroom break to prepare for this long show one of my group got locked out when the doors shut promptly at 8p even though he was right outside the door. Then when I went to retrieve my ousted family member the security people told me there is no re-entry. We did return to our seats with after speaking with management but once all that transpired we could not enjoy the show. It was clear that the actors were very talented vocalists but the interactions with venue staff destroyed the evening for us and made me regret the ridiculous amount we spent on the tickets. WE WILL BE SPENDING ALL OUR THEATER MONEY AT THE ZACH FROM NOW ON! Never going back to Bass...

Les Miserables is my favorite musical and I had high expectations for this production. While it was opening night and some things may not have been "dialed in" and worked out, the production value of the 9/10/19 performance was not on par with any Broadway Across America show I've seen here. Scenery and lighting were so dark that the cast might as well have been performing on an empty stage. Many wonderful effects lost and wasted. The live music was wonderfully performed but was drowning out all of the song lyrics. Every number was rushed, with the words quite difficult to hear and understand (and these are songs I know and love). Had I not seen the musical live, or seen the motion picture version of the musical, I am quite certain that I would not have a clue about the story line or anything going on with any of the characters. I was very disappointed, so disappointed in fact, that I wrote this review during the intermission. Finally, despite the house policies, Bass Concert Hall was allowing a significant number of people to enter and exit the theater throughout the performance. It was completely distracting, especially given the compromised lighting and sound. And the ushers and their flashlights were a significant part of the problem. If you see this show on another night I hope it is improved. It was truly as though there had been no pre-show run through at all. Missed spotlights and terrible sound reinforcement. Standout performances from little Cosette, Cosette, and Marius. A let down from the other leading roles. This production of Les Miserables was WAY MISERABLE and unfortunately a good deal of the let down seems to be from the venue.
