this is a very good place for bouldering, it has large boulders to climb on, each has different difficulty.

Really pretty area for a walk/hike. In town for work, I visited this park with coworkers and we hiked and looked at some pretty waterfalls. I read the reviews about car break ins, but was careful not to leave anything I care about in view. Nothing happened to my car nor my friend's cars.
Visited on a hot Saturday. Take water.

Came for a quick walk with the family, and returned to our car within 30 minutes to find someone had broken into the rear window and stolen a purse with everything inside. They even took our "baby on board" sign, which is either incredibly sad or terribly sick. Came here to find that this is a common occurrence.

If you go to this park, you will notice signs advising you to not leave valuables in your car. You will also notice broken auto glass in several places throughout the parking areas. Although the park is very scenic, car break-ins are rampant. On our third visit there, we became victims of this and have since found out that hundreds of cars a year get broken into at this park.

Do yourself and your car a favor and avoid this park.

Bull Creek is a hidden gem in the Austin area. We took a long walk along the creek, with beautiful pools and waterfalls. We got through with just our hiking boots, but you would probably need NEOs or water shoes when the spring rains come.

Great spot! I love that it’s slightly hidden from all the other major spots, so it’s less populated.

This is a historic park where one can see wagon wheel ruts in the creek that have turned into stone. 200 years ago, the granite stone used in building downtown and the state capital building traveled this route. Today dogs and kids compete for playing in the creek and several hiking paths extend for miles. There are water falls and pools for bathing along this scenic path.

Ah!!!! Controversy! Ask anyone in Austin the best trail to hike and the answer will be Barton Creek. But for the serious hiker it just ain't so. I have done both now. Barton Creek is a nice walk in the woods past some great swimming holes and waterfalls. But Bull Creek is a hike with some technical aspects lots of creek crossing , Great swimming holes and bigger waterfalls. My first time along Bull Creek was on the Inga Van Nynatten Memorial trail which I stated then was the trail to hike in Austin if you could only do 1. The greenbelt that begins at Bull Creek District Park eventually leads to the Inga trail although I have yet to make the complete connection. Don't know if I am missing a crossing or if it's due to high water because a lot of the walk we did today was on a limestone shelf along the creek. We.... Yes! Quincy finally gave it up and got a haircut and is now back on the trail with me. Anyway this is a great park/hike for a dog. Lots of access to the creek and Quinn just loves wading along beside me. Although sometimes it's swimming since he is such a pipsqueak his little legs lose contact with the creek bed. Wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet because if there is much water in the creek you are going to have to wade to ford the stream... not deep wading but about ankle high.... although wading the creek with your companion pooch seems to be a thing at Bull Creek. Beautiful canyon smaller then Barton Creek so you really feel like you are in the canyon.. oops you are since you spend so much time along or in the creek..... Beautiful waterfalls. This is a bit more urban the Barton (noises more audible) but the scenery; you would think you were way out in the country other then when you pass under the roadway. Look about 2 miles out from the Lakewood Drive parking area for the 30's model car stuck in the rocks.... possibly a victim of some long ago flood. We turned around shortly after this as we might have missed a crossing or something and the cliffs closed in tightly around us ; the way forward over wet mossy limestone. Quinn was leading with is nose so it is hard to tell what he might have been tracking to get us there. also look for the old wagon tracks in the creek bed they were very visible on this visit. Cool Cool place. (A note: Romantic place for couples?.... If hiking together is a thing yes but I say that because we saw several groups of people taking dress up pictures along the canyon wedding pics or proms/dances I dunno )

Loved this park! The trails run right along Bull Creek which is nice and wide, with lots of water and small waterfalls throughout.

We only did about a 4 mile loop hike but there were plenty of places to dip your toes into the cool water (or just jump in, if you came prepared with a swimsuit 👙).

Lots of small parking lots along the trail as well.

As mentioned, the creek was pretty full but there were plenty of places you can cross along the stones. Alternatively, do bring water shoes. It was a good mix between shady and sunny sections along the trail

We didn't have any animals with us but quite a few dogs running around.

Will certainly be back with towels and proper attire next time so we can take a dip after a nice hardy hike 😀

Easy to walk along the creek, may have to push a few branches out of the way. Water shoes helpful. Easy access, lots of parking most days.
