Wonderful tour with lots of migratory birds. Don’t miss the Saurus cranes. Our guide Tarun Singh is one of the best birders we have found anywhere.

The trip started in foggy cold morning with guide Mr Rajvir Singh (8005949042) in e-rickshaw. Next three hours took us in altogether different world, just the birds. His knowledge about the birds was amazing. One could see thousands of birds from Russia, Mangolia, Europe, Egypt, Bangladesh etc, making nests, fishing, sun-basking, feeding younger ones. It was a great pleasure to see young enthusiasts with huge cameras, busy clicking. Season starts from mid-october and ends in mid-March. One could still plan the visit this year.

It was a 4 hour car drive from north Delhi (without any stoppage). Road conditions are overall good because the majority of it is the Yamuna expressway. When you enter Mathura, extremely narrow and congested roads with potholes but fortunately it is a small stretch. Still try to avoid entering the city. The sanctuary entry is open only till 5pm in summer, so if you want to enjoy the sunset, make sure that you enter before 5. We decided to take a rickshaw@₹600. If you really want to view the beautiful birds, then you have to take a guide (@₹1000) so that you can get a close up via telescopic lens and binoculars. Unfortunately there is no facility for hiring binoculars at the sanctuary, so the only alternative is a guide. One can also walk or hire a cycle. Rickshaw tour took us 1.5-2 hours only. Even in peak summer we saw quite a few birds. Evening proved to be a better sighting time for us. This is a lovely, peaceful and beautiful place. We will surely be back in winters to enjoy Bharatpur in its full glory.

A must visit place if are you are around. One can to a day trip from Agra to Bharatpur via road. We visited during November and found it an interesting place to spend some relaxed time.
It is a big sanctuary and one can either take a cycle or hire a rickshaw to cover it. It will take more than 3hrs to cover the entire sanctuary on a rickshaw.

One of the Best Bird Sanctuary in India. You can spot lot of residential and migratory birds. Best time to visit is Dec to Feb. Need full day or two to fully watch Birds. Good if you take guides and binoculars. Rikshaw rides are also interesting. Boating is also available. Early Morning is best time and even sunset is very beautiful.
Overall very Good Experience. Haven for Nature Lovers.

Excellent place to go for Bird Photography, unfortunately, we only were able to spend 90mins there as we were on tour with a group, however during that time the experience was excellent and I will be going back again and spending a lot more time there.

This place is a must visit if you are a birding enthusiast or a wildlife lover. This place has amazing landscapes and attracts a variety of birds from the world. There are other wildlife animals as well. One has to hire a good rickshaw, as the drivers are guides as well, and enjoy the nature, click photos and have a wonderful time here.

We had a fantastic experience at Bharatpur. Thanks to the naturalist, Mr. Mohan Singh Solanki(8005645249)naturalistmohan123@gmail.com) who guided us in our trail. We covered our trail on foot from 7 AM to 4 PM and we spotted over 85 different species of birds. We visited during December end and hence we could see a lot of migratory birds.
Mr. Mohan also had a telescope which enabled us to see each bird with great detail and he was courteous to explain about each species in detail. Moreover he was really proactive in ensuring that we spot the rarest of the species and took great effort in taking us towards spaces which had higher probability of bird citing. He has lived right beside the park all his life, so booking with him you can support someone local. I highly recommend visiting the park and hiring Mohan. I would also recommend that you plan to spend more than half day.
We leave with a greater interest in birds and hope to go on many more of such expeditions.

On a couple of occasions I have gone along for bird watching/ sighting trails and come back sorely disappointed...this time was different and HOW!

We were a group of 5 cousins and 2 kids aged 8 and 9. We did not elect to take cycle rickshaws like others and instead rode cycles (they had smaller ones for kids too thankfully so if your child is about 4 feet tall, you are good to go). It was a 11km trail to and fro and we could all do it comfortably since you take intermittent breaks for the pictures and sightings.

We had a fabulous naturalist guide - Mr. Prakash! Very knowledgeable and he comes along on his own cycle, with binocs, tripod, etc so that makes the sightings infinitely better.

We saw soooo many species of birds and varieties of bats and fed turtles and saw spotted deer up close (who had no fear of humans since they probably had "close human sightings" everyday :D). We saw nests of painted storks and it was like being in a nat Geo program LIVE. How they were fed food and water and birds mid-flight! I could go on and on but suffice it to say it was the most magnificent bird sighting experience we have had!
