Many thanks to Youssef for organizing a wonderful 3-day Merzouga trip from Marrakech for us. The communication with him was seamless, the payment straight forward and the flexibility unparalleled.
What really elevated this was the driver, Ismail: an intimate knowledge of culture, history and geography helps the traveler experience more than the sights, it gives meaning to the trip.
Highly recommend!

My husband and I consider ourselves “seasoned” travelers and have never considered using a private tour company. Well, we are both blown away by our experience with Morocco Exploration Trips. Every perceived preconception of a “guided tour” was wrong. When I first contacted Youssef, he quickly responded to each question (there were many!) and assured me that we could customize our desert trip.

Our driver, Abdul, was very knowledgeable about every question we had. He also was attentive to every detail. If he noticed me covering my shoulder’s he automatically - without asking turned down the air conditioning. We learned so much from Abdul about Moroccan history and its culture. Things that you would miss if you did the trip on your own.

The food, lodging, and our guide were all perfect! This trip was one of our favorites thanks to our driver, Abdul or “James” as we kidded with him. We also enjoyed the trip so much that we extended it for another 4 days!

Also, I looked at other tour companies but decided on Morocco Exploration Trips due to the reviews, being able to customize your trip, and the value it provided to ensuring every detail was taken care of.

Thanks again Youssef and Abdul!

Morocco Exploration Trips was recommended by my cousin who visited the country a few years ago. So I and my friends scheduled a holiday last week of March and it is definitely one of the best trips I had outside the United Kingdom. Youssef, who is also our tour master was very accommodating and very responsive to our queries and is also very keen on making sure our experience is tailored to our interests. He made sure that all of the places that we visited are the most sought-after and made sure to also shared with us the rich and colorful history of their country. Even if it was just a couple of days, he made sure that our experience will be memorable and is always willing to answer all of our questions. I will definitely come back to Morocco with more days for a holiday and will make sure to book with Morocco Explorations Trips. They are definitely the best.

Morroco Exploration Trips was recommended by my friends who went to Morocco. Youssef was very patient and accommodating as he answered all my queries prior to the trip.

For the first day we had a walking day tour of the Médina, Youssef had explained and showed us the amazing places throughout the old city. We learned a lot of people and their colourful culture.

Jardin Majorelle and the Afagay Desert was the highlight of the second day which I would definitely recommend you visit.

Morocco is such a picturesque country and I definitely recommend Morocco Exploration Trips as they made our short stay meaningful and memorable.

I have always dreamed of visiting Morocco, and Youseff made my childhood dream come true! I went on an 18-day private tour around Morocco in Jan 2023 with my husband, two-year-old toddler, my parents, and my mother-in-law, who are all in their 70s. No one went crazy, no one got sick, and we all left Morocco extremely happy and fulfilled. If you want a fantastic time in Morocco, go ahead and book your trip with Morocco Exploration Trips. I would give it 100 stars out of 5. The best tour guide and driver on the planet!

Pros:
- Communication: Communication with Youseff is excellent, from planning the itinerary and budget to when we were in Morocco. Youseff is very responsive and speaks perfect English.
- Safety: Youseff put all of our safety at the forefront of everything. He provided a car seat for our toddler free of charge for the entire trip. He kept on telling us to put on our seat belts. He even shielded us from oncoming cars and scooters with his body. Hassan is an excellent driver. He drives smoothly and safely, which is vital to me since we have our baby and elderly parents in the car.
- Accommodating: Youseff and Hassan had our trip perfectly planned out. The long car rides never felt that long because we made stops at interesting spots along the way. He was also extremely flexible when we wanted to do something different from the itinerary.
- Knowledgeable: Youseff not only planned and managed our trip, but he was also highly informational regarding the history and cultural aspects of where we were and what we saw. It made every place so much more meaningful. I loved how he made me understand the history and meanings of Islam better. Youseff also guided us on what to buy and how much things cost. We didn't get conned or overtly ripped off anywhere!
- Quality: We budgeted our accommodations to be mid-range. The hotels and riads Youseff booked for us were all in central locations, had views, and had terrific hot showers. All the restaurants he took us to and recommended were good. I completely trusted his recommendations.
- Respectful: Youseff and Hassan were absolute gentlemen. We stayed at over seven hotels, and they never even let me pick up a suitcase. They're both extremely respectful of our space and cultural differences. Youseff is personable, caring, funny, and most of all, he can relate to a 2yr old as well as to a bunch of 70+yr olds.

Cons:
- None

Morocco Explorations Trips delivered and exceeded all of our expectations.

This was a phenomenal trip. Enjoyed every bit of this expedition. I found it was more than just a tour. I called it an expedition. Not only did we learned about Morocco but we also learned about our guides, driver and their life experiences they shared . It was a cultural exchange both ways, we spoke of Canada and they of Morocco. Life is not that different. Morocco is beautiful, clean and food is great.
Our guide Elhoussain Boun did a great job giving us history about Morocco and the towns and city enroutei, our driver Hassan were great. Hassan is an excellant driver, felt very safe in his ability. Mohammed our guide in Fes was excellent as was Youssef in Marrakech.
I would highly recommend this trip and if 11 days is to much time they will taylor the trip according to your time and interest.

Below is a sample of what we did.

Day 1:
Hassan II grand mosque of Morocco and drive by Rick’s café from the movie Casablanca
Day 2:Rabat where we visited the Hassan tower, Mohammed 5 shrine,we missed Mechouar (royal palace, because the King was there), we toured the Oudayas
Kasbah.

Day 3: Explore Fes - guided private tour of city, by walking
in medina with their local guide. explore the Mosque of the Andalusians, also
famous tanneries, the Medersas plus we went to the new part of the city that includes royal palce where we learned the history of Morocco and Fes. Not allowed into this palace just outside views. Then panoramic view of Fes city.

Day 4: We drove to through Ifrane and Cedar forest to Midelet
Town of Ifrane is known as the Moroccan Switzerland because of its alpine weather and the construction of the houses same as Swiss. From Ifrane we drove thru to cedar forest where we see the Barbary apes (Macaques)

Day 5: From Midelt we drove thru - Erfoud, Rissani on our way to Merzouga desert dunes. During this drive we cross the Mountain pass along the Ziz
valley to reach city of Erfoud that known for its fossils museums and ziz valley (dates palm oasis). Here we see the beginning of the Sahara desert of Merzouga. In the desert we rode camels for quite a while thru the dessert dunes, sat on the dunes to watch the sunset and stayed over night in luxury desert camp.

Day 6: Woke up in the morning at the desert camp to go watch the sun rise over the desert dunes before having a shower and breakfast. From here we left Merzouga for Erfoud for a tour of the city market and before we head to Todra Gorges (300m red cliffs) and Dades Valley (one of the coldest places in Morocco)

Day 7: Left Dadesand drove thru, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, Atlas Mountains on our way to Marrakech
We stop at Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, local
kasbah that was been built by Ethami El Glaoui in the 17th century. Thi splace has been used in many movies. From here we crossed Tichka mountain Pass
at altitude of 2260m over the High Atlas Mountains. We stopped to visit a women cooperative of argan
oil to see how they work it and the benefits of the cooperative.

Day 8: Marrakech private guided tour to explore main attractions and
monuments of the red city including famous Jemma el Fna square , Kotoubia mosque , souks, palaces, museums. We explore also new part of the city called Gueliz and Marjolle garden. The guided tour would end around 4pm but this depends on the places we wanted to visit or not..We had the late afternoon and evening free to explore the old market on our own

Day 9: Today we drove from Marrakech to Essaouira to check in at our hotel with ocean front views from the balcony
We enjoyed the beach, visited the medina of Essaouira and the port which popular as the place where part of Game of Thrones filmed in Morocco. This was a wind down day after a pack filled tour. Great just to relax.

Day 10: After breakfast we drove to Casablanca where we started our tour
passing through Safi,Oualidya and El Jadida, Portuguese villages from the past.

Day 11: Transfer to Mohammed V airport

The solitude of the Sahara Desert near Merzouga and the incredible night sky. That being said it is a whirlwind week and M.E.T. has an incredible itinerary, hang on to your hat.
I personally also really enjoyed the camel ride to camp, it was exhilarating. Make sure your shoes are well broken in and comfortable and travel light. The nights can be chilly in the desert so layers work. And make sure you have a good camera

Our girls getaway 8 days tour started in Casablanca and finished in Marrakech. It was a private tour with just the four of us in an air-conditioned mini-Van. We saw amazing places on our Morocco tour thanks to Youssef and Hassan as guide and driver. They are professional, knowledgeable, honest, friendly and very dedicated team. They made us feel welcome and cared for on our entire journey with them. I knew I could trust Youssef when we had to do transaction either to buy something at the market, exchange my money or to understand what other Moroccan were telling me. I don’t usually hirer a guide but I must admit that it was the best decision we made for our Moroccan trip. I highly recommend them.

I will be back for another adventure in Morroco with Youssef and his team but this time with my family.

Chokran Youssef and Hassan for this amazing adventure.

All the best to you, see you soon and “Aquarius”!!! Ha ha ha!
