Pathetically undermaintained stadium. Very sad and overpriced food and beverage supplies. Dirty loos. We went there for the India vs Australia Test match and came back with a bad taste in the mouth.

The stadium is big enough, but the seats are old and horrible. The cement steps are broken in many places and jut out dangerously. Anybody can get badly hurt. The numbers on some of the seat are clean wiped out, so I found many ticket holders searching frantically for their seats, but to no avail. Fights also broke out because of it as many unauthorised people sat on these non-numbered seats.
Also, I found that there are stands named after Bishen Singh Bedi, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, but none for Virender Sehwag. Infact there are two for Gautam Gambhir but none for Sehwag? How very unfair!!
The good part is the wash rooms are big and clean. That's a big relief. I went during IPL match between CSK vs DC on May 20, 2023.

We typically visit the stadium atleast once a year to watch a match. The name of the stadium has now been changed to Arun Jaitley stadium. If you are planning to watch a match, make sure you do not buy tickets for any of the stands in square. Personally, the stand which I like most is the old members club.

THE first and most important thing to be aware of for travellers trying to find this stadium is that it has recently changed its name and is now called the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
It was set up in 1883 and is the second oldest still functional international cricket stadium in India behind Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
I visited this famous old Test Match ground on the first day of my holiday in India.
I'd checked into my hotel and found myself with some spare time, so I went out and hired a tuk tuk driver to take me across the city to the stadium as I am a big cricket fan.
Quite frankly I was utterly bewildered by my first contact with Indian traffic which greeted me with a cacophony of horn blasts, shouts, revved engines and incredibly dense concentrations of vehicles. When I explained this to my tuk tuk driver he laughed and said this was light traffic because today was a Sunday!! He was right. The next day was far worse with unbelievable traffic and noise.
Fortunately for me my Sunday visit to the stadium went very well and I made the trip over from Karol Bagh in about 35 minutes.
My seasoned driver lost no time in taking me on an entire circuit of the outside of the stadium including a pause for various photographs including one of the Virender Sehwag Gate dedicated to India's famous attacking batsman.
This is a big stadium with dominated by towering light structures, a bowl of a place where spectators gather in tens of thousands to watch their heroes play.
If the interior is well kept with strict security then the same cannot be said of the exterior which has heaps of rubbish lying about, broken bricks, people asleep on the pavement, squalor and the occasional little food stall.
Half way between the street and the hallowed pitch in the centre of the ground lies a sort of entrance walk through history where visitors are treated to giant photos of players both current and past. That I found really interesting.
All in all it was an atmospheric visit to this famous ground and I would recommend a visit to any cricket fan who finds themselves in Delhi.

Excellate Cricket Ground with average occupancy of 80% full. This can tell you catually the Crciket fever in Delhiites. It is old venue but maintained very well. Security is always on top agenda being the venue in the National Capital. Easily accecible by mode of transport from across NCR. Now Metro connections are good to reach the ground.

Great place to catch a game- one of the the best stadiums in India! While Feroz doesn't have the same name cache as Wankhede, it is still a great place to catch a cricket match. The newly renamed Delhi Capitals (previously Delhi Daredevils) put a great product on the field even when they arent finishing at the top of the league. As with most stadiums in India, its best to try and get any food and drink selections out of the way early as the crush of people in between innings can be overwhelming.
Foreigners will enjoy the love Indians have for the game of cricket and the way they cheer for any great play even if it isn't in their team's favor. If you've never watched a cricket game, try and attend your first match with someone who knows and loves the game. Failing that, take a bit of time to learn about the game on YouTube before you go, as cricket is a difficult sport to understand simply watching, but relatively easy to pick up with a bit of explanation, especially for those familiar with baseball.

I have visited this place and there’s a huge crowd. Stadium needs immediate renovation bcoz its all about representing Delhi to another states. Being a capital of the nation , it must be presentable. One worst thing happened , we bought some eatables there and I got food poising. I vomitted badly due to unhygienic and not sellable food. This is really a matter of thought.
