Sadly this wasn't a good experience from start to finish.
We were booked into the IIC and were given annexe rooms, I dont know if you have a choice, but I'd never proactively choose this option again. Am hoping the main building is better.
We checked in about 7pm and the man checking us in was extremely unhelpful and monosyllabic in answer to all our questions. Sadly I dont recall his name I would definitely throw him under the bus if I did. We were then shown our rooms which were really shabby, worn out was the nicest way i can describe them. The toilets werent very clean, there were rubber mats in the old bath tub and the beds had haggered looking bedspreads. Reminiscent of the 70s. Really below par.
We went to the restaurant to discuss our options (ideally in an international centre you need staff who are able to speak to an international audience . This wasnt the case here, where most struggled with English.), The food i have to say was delicious, which really surprised us given the above and the restaurant manager was also very nice.
Anyway we decided none of us could stay even one night at this location and we tried to check out about an hour after checking in. Again we were faced with the monosyllabic receptionist. I asked him several times if i could speak to the manager. He made a variety of excuses. After about 45 mins of pleading he said we'd need to pay a 50% cancellation fee (USD200 each!) then reduced it to one day (USD100 each). Which to be honest was a relief we could get out of there. Our travel agent (thank god for him ) managed to get us 2 doubles at a hotel near Connaught for far less and far far better quality. (USD62 per head WITH breakfast which IIC doesnt offer) I am amazed that anyone stays here given the excellent hotels all around Delhi and the very cosmopolitan nature of the City. I really think the IIC needs to raise its game and its standards and do a complete overhaul of both the rooms and some of the staff.

The India International Centre spreads across several buildings, with the annexe a little further off (next to the INTACH building). It's a sprawling complex of buildings, lawns, and gardens, with the Lodhi Gardens next door. The IIC is a hub for many cultural activities, including talks, seminars, book launches, exhibitions and so on. They have all the usual club amenities, such as a very well-stocked library, rooms, restaurant and banqueting facilities. Some facilities are open only to members, but non-members are free to attend several activities, such as the many events that are organized at the premises.

The location and layout/atmosphere of India International Centre (IIC) are excellent. There is lush greenery in the campus and the food and service are also very good. However, the facilities require an upgrade. The rooms are small and adequate but need better equipment and facilities. The beautiful water bodies and fountains also need to be better maintained.

This place has only the snob value. We have been paying for the membership of more than a lakh/year so wanted to check out the restaurant. 4 times reached there AFTER making a table reservation. 3 times, we were told there is no booking in their record. But they will accommodate and to wait downstairs lounge. Never were called. In the lounge, it is horror. Waiters kept pushing to order everything as 8:30pm (9pm on 2 occassions) was the last order. It was 8pm but the guy insisted to take only one order of all items. He will bring all items together. It was 8:20pm, looking at the quantity (waiter said 3 pieces of cutlets but served very thin 2 pieces and insisted that's what the chef gave and possibly because it is end of the day), wanted to order one more dish. He refused to take order. At other tables, order was taken even at 9pm. When I asked the senior looking person at the counter, there was a blank stare. Just no reply. On the 4th occassion, table booking was there and a table was also free. But the manager gave it to 4 people who came after us (2 of us). Then gave the same promise, "I will personally call you as soon as table is ready." The manager is a sweet talking but of no use fellow, and the waiters are over-paid, rude, do not care people. Just avoid the place, you should not be asking for water 3 times during your dinner. A couple of friends stayed and do not have good experience with the rooms. They are surviving on absolute snob value. Their bar gave better service the only time I visited there.

I went to Delhi for 2 days with my daughter and my husband is an IIC member so booked a 2 day stay. The rooms are 1980's in rambles, dust and a stone hard mattress. It reminds you of any poorly run Dharamshala in India except I paid 5000 Rs per night for the discomfort. The bathroom was a typical bucket bath. The shower was not working.
It is in good location. Period. That is the only advantage. These days my kids hostels have better rooms. The staff did not wear face sheilds and there were no disinfectants present in rooms or corridors. I requested for cancellation but the hostel as they call themselves refused.
This looks like a place to stay in desperation only.

You can enjoy and relax in the company of great artists and intellectuals. Snacks and meals served are tasty and delicious. For members, they are reasonably priced. It is a wonderful place to visit frequently.

Royal afternoon tea at the IIC after a walk at the IIC. Lovely and cozy place to be.
Nice to be quiet and relaxed at this place.

A very well known place in the upscale locale of Lodhi Road and near Khan market is India International centre. A venue for invigorating exchanges around culture, literature and intellectual discussions around the socio-political scenario in the country and around the world. Famous as a place frequented by the bureaucrats, IAS, IPS and the elite.
Besides, attending a theatrical play directed by a close friend from college days, this visit was to attend the 25th edition of Mystique India Conclave towards Make in India and underlying theme of Bharat Nirman and discussions around wellness through Art and Music

There are few parking spaces available in the IIC precinct. But try the Stein lane instead.
