A large nature preserve with tons of things to see, awesome waterfalls and easy hiking trails.
I definitely recommend taking the gorge trail, a very beautiful waterfall worth seeing!

Enjoyed taking an afternoon hike around the boulders and to the waterfall. The trails aren't well marked. You can explore in your own. The trails are rocky and have exposed tree roots. My dog and I were able to navigate them.

Great scenic view, however the preserve could use improvements. For example, the map at the beginning does not have a “You are here” mark, so you don’t even know where you are starting. Then, the trails are not appropriately marked and the preserve should have maps placed throughout for a quick reference for visitors. Another idea could involve placing a brochure at the beginning of the trails if they do not want to place maps throughout that visitors could use. The trails were pretty hard to follow due to the uncleared foliage thus forcing us to guess where the trail continued or ended.

Nice hike, main parking lot was easily overlooked. It is at circle near the stores. We ended up in parking lot near the school. A longer hike which was good and nice falls. Worth the visit for us.

The large boulders are interesting. The hiking map at the beginning of the trail is not marked with a "You are Here" stamp so you have no idea where you are starting. The trails that I was on were not marked. And the location is even more weird. Right outside the park drive, in the middle of nowhere, is a new 'old' village. Looks like a movie set from the early 1900's. Bizarre. Apparently they are trying to make a community of houses and shopping area right here on top of the preserve. What a way to ruin nature. If you want to hike around I say go for it. If you tend to get lost I wouldn't try it. If you want to see the movie set neighborhood it might be worth the drive.

We parked at Simmons Middle School (per map instructions on the website) and managed to get sidetracked a lot on our hike, the trail blazes and the map are not the best quality. But, that being said, it really is fantastic to see the boulders and hike through the fallen leaves. This is the best time of year to visit since you can escape hiking in 95 degrees and appreciate some of the changing trees.

Trails are not well marked and if you go in summer the stream and falls and nil. Take when you go: water, sun screen, bug spray, hat, and towel. You can spend hours exploring.

I really enjoyed the walk. The trails were well marked heading in, but I didn’t know how to get to Tacos and Tequila. I ended up at the fire station, which was kind of funny. Got a little more walking than I had intended, but no worse off for the extended tour.

I like hiking and the trails at the Preserve are just challenging enough to be fun. However some improvements are in order. Some of the trail markings are not very visible and some route finding is tricky. Plus some of the direction signposts have been vandalized. The waterfalls are usually not running very well. But because it is close to several municipalities it is easy to do in a day with time left over for other things.

The next day I knew that worked out. I’m out of shape too, and it was very much a work out for my lower body. But it’s worth it!!

Yes, as the web site noted: Fido is welcome. Do consider the route you plan to take and the time. You may want to carry some water and a small bowl along for your dog on hot days. There is a lot of shade, and that is nice. We enjoyed our walking thoroughly there.

My son and I went today and loved it. We finally decided to hike to find the Frog Pond. There were a few confusing sections that branched right or left, but followed the white marks. We finally made it to a post near some water that seemed like we maybe found it. But it also said something about another .03mi. With a few other sites... We walked a little further, but only found water that appeared to be coming from a sewer drain again. Is this the frog pond? It's right next to the highway?? We were disappointed and decided to walk the sidewalk back to the car. I can not find any pictures of what the frog pond is supposed to look like.

Yes there is but I can easily see where certain times when it would be dry. It's not a waterfall that you would want to make a trip just to see it. It's more of an interesting sight to go along with your hiking.

Is it possible to fish on this property?

There is no real water to fish in. A small creek runs through the back part but the area is mainly for hiking and rock climbing.
