Don‘t go here. We were robbed with a firearm during daytime.
Although the park has some beautiful aspects, most parts are not in best shape so all in all Not recommended

Went to watch the 20XXX cricket, it is the best place to watch cricket in South Africa. The brass band keeps the vibe going .

St. George's Park is located very close to the center. Founded in 1860, St. George's Park occupies an impressive area of 73 hectares, where various representatives of the flora of South Africa grow. plants and tree samples. The Victorian Persona Greenhouse was built for particularly delicate plants in 1882. The park includes the world-famous Port Elizabeth Cricket Club. Since I'm not a fan of flora and I don't even know the rules of cricket, I passed by... Needless to remind you that it is better to appear here in the daytime...

Most people in PE associate St. George's park with the cricket grounds. One would almost forget that it is a vast park area with many other attractions. Quite a few spaces (e.g. tennis court and swimming pool, cemetery) are off limits and often fenced. The area with old trees and lawns towards the north is accessible. A lot of work seems to be going on, especially near the Guard memorial. Still, worth while for a stroll.

We visited in January for the third test match between South Africa and England and overall the experience was a positive one. The view from the Duckpond End is terrific. Facilities are OK and queues for food and drink reasonable. It could be a different story for a busier event. There is also a bit of a mad scramble for ubers after play has finished.

Was here for the third test Match betweeen SA and England. It's a pretty ground with real history - the first ground in the world to play test cricket outside England and Australia. Usually if music is played at a cricket ground it goes quiet while the bowler runs up. Not here - the tuneless, annoying brass band just goes on and on and on. They have some sense of humour in that the songs they play reflect SA's prformnce in the match, and by the fourth day some of the songs were even recognisable - but was that just because I was becoming immune to the tunelessness? Only one large scoreboard, so a large part of the ground can't see the details ofthe scores, or any replays etc. For food and drinks: great if you like burgers, borewors or Castle Lager - otherwise get a hospitality box or forget it. How can the catering be so bad?

What a lovely day again, shared with friends and fans alike....they did run out of castle lite beers....but there was other options we chose too. Love the live entertainment and the band. Always a treat. Took our mini coolerbox in with some allowed items and had a day of fun in the sun!

We only had a short walk from our coach stop and easy access through the gates.
This is a nice traditional ground with loads of character and a great atmosphere.
Entrance to the toilets was dark but once inside they are bright, clean and well stocked.
There is a good selection of food/drink outlets at very good prices,
The seats are reasonably comfortable, they feel a little wider than other grounds and there's plenty of legroom. Importantly there's a good view of the action.
I did get rather cold a couple of times with the wind coming in off the Indian ocean and had to wrap up in a hoodie and windproof jacket, not a good look. But despite that I enjoyed watching the test match at this ground.

Saw the first two days of recent England test match here. Lovely old ground with plenty of character, friendly staff and good views of cricket. Only minor criticism was lack of WiFi and could find anywhere to buy a glass of wine.
Beer and food good value and easy to get to ground
