More than the fort, I enjoyed the view of the nearby beach. The monument is old and frankly speaking slightly boring to explore but the beach is good.

This small fort now operates as a bar and does not charge entry (contrary to the info on the Ghana museums website). If you are staying in Accra and are looking for a day trip combining Fort of Good Hope with swimming and lunch at one of the nearby beach resorts is a good option. The Fort itself takes maybe 20 minutes to look round and take some photos, so its not worth the 1.5-2 hr drive alone. It is worth reading up on the fort before you arrive as there is no information available. As other reviewers have noted one side of the Fort has unfortunately become an open latrine - I would not want to stay in any of the rooms. Indeed Senya Beraku is pretty scruffy and few would recommend staying here overnight.

We drove to Fort Good Hope from nearby Feteh (Tills Beach/White sands area). I was pleasantly surprised by this historic site (turned bar/guest house). It has a certain charm and offer amazing views of the sea front, including fishing boats launching from nearby shores. I recommend staying for a beer and enjoying the scenery. (Sadly, there is considerable trash piling up alongside of the fort and don’t be surprised if you see men urinating there. Still, I rate it Very Good in terms of competing attractions and the cost-free entry)
We viewed the guest rooms which are basic and cheap.

The only notable attraction in the village of Senya lies at the bottom of the main road that leads to the beach. Overlooking this beach is the Fort of Good Hope, established centuries ago by the Portuguese because they wanted to revive the gold trade. Unfortunately 10 years later, economic reality forced them to return to the more lucrative slave trading business.
Today, the fort has been partially restored and serves as hostel lodging with a small bar. It also serves as the most photographic landscape in the village. You can likely enter the fort without charge and find plenty of locations to take pictures. You won't find the dungeons and doors of no return like more prominent forts further down the coast, but the views of the beach and local fishermen are incredible.
It's best to visit after a rain, so the odor of local excrement nearby doesn't overwhelm.

Stayed the night with a friend. The whole time you smell human feces, local guys pooped everywhere, middle of the beach, the rocks, cm away from the fort and you smell it! The room was semi clean mo dust but bed sheets are instead of white, found a human finger nail under the sheets. Shower didn't work use the tap to fill the bad-tub for showering. Water smelled like poop again, the pomp it from the ground. Brealfast was good amd 40 cedi for a double room.
