We visited Peru in late July 2024. LOCAL TREKKERS PERU arranged 7 days and 6 nighst at the Manu National Park for us via email and Alberto the manager was very helpful and attentive in tailoring the trip to suit our needs at a very reasonable cost. He even attended to us prior to the trip to discuss it in person at his office.
Also we had a meeting with our guide the day before our trip, which he explained us the whole tour.
The trip was made however by our guide and now friend Nefi. From the moment we were introduced to him in the office he was the most attentive and helpful guide we have ever met or come across. He was soon telling us different things about Peru, Manu Park and the surrounding area, he could explain every animal we saw with great precision with biological. Was awesome. We saw many animals like, the cock of the Rock (the national bird of Peru), we saw caimans, monkeys, kapibaras, otters and the most impressive animal we saw was a Jaguar we were lucky to see one. Thanks Nefi to do this trip Amazing.
The accommodation was Great as well something thatwe loved a lot was we were always changing of location we slept in different lodges all very confortables and clean with private rooms, toilets and shower.
The food wooowww (outstanding) we loved the food that Cristobal prepared us every single day, always different, tasty, enough for us and for the crew, served in buffet, very well decorated. Nefi our guide explained the different types of food and what was good which was really helpful. This was the case with breakfast, lunch and dinner and we were also provided with fruit which was offered throughout the day and cookies in the evening to have with a cup of tea over a few games on the table.
With Local Trekkers Peru we had more than we expected and I would highly recommend This Company and would urge anyone to specifically request Nefi as your guide. We will be returning to Cusco in the near future and will most certainly be doing with you guys.

This trip to MANU was planned months ago with my partner and everything went well. The travel agency Terra Quechua Peru not only fulfilled what they proposed, but exceeded our expectations. From the first contact, their professionalism was evident: detailed itinerary, expert guides and a focus on environmental conservation that really resonated with me. Seeing the macaws at the clay lick at sunrise was a sight I will never forget. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking adventure and connection with nature.

The experience was amazing our guide allowed us to explore and understand the jungle better. We did many trips during the day and night that allowed us to see many animals in their own habitat (of course, not guaranteed). In addition, we learned a lot about the plants of the jungle. The food was very good and with many options also for vegetarians, and the lodges were in harmony with the nature, what a peace! I was very happy to have lived this experience.

The 5-day excursion to the Manu Jungle with Terra Quechua Peru was sensational. Super organized and structured. Everything very safe. The tours are great, we made lots of stops to see lookouts, birds and monkeys as we descended through the cloud forest into the jungle. The guide brought telescopes and binoculars to make sure everyone could get the best views possible, as well as helping us take amazing photos and videos. The drivers, boat captains and cooks who accompanied us were all very friendly. They made us feel very safe. The accommodations were comfortable and in idyllic settings. We were guided through many diverse areas to see wildlife and learn about all sorts of different species of plants and insects, we had a great time.

Where do I start......
I recently, my friends and I did the 7 days/6-nights tour of Manu with LOCAL TREKKERS PERU. this trip was very well organized they´re picked up us at our hotel, including the guide Nefi came to our hotel the day before to give us information about the trip I have positive comments about Nefi. His knowledge and skills particularly his observation and eyesight are truly amazing, we saw two jaguars very well camouflaged. his leadership, organization and control were outstanding. can be seen that he really loves his work the food was based on buffet
Over all, this is a nature experience without a match! There are not many “untouched” places on the earth where one can so completely get away from the urban jungle and enjoy the abundance of the nature and wildlife. The gigantic, 80-70 m tall trees, flocks of big and colorful parrots, amazing jungle birds which looked like prehistoric creatures, monkeys and even jaguars very camouflage themselves near the river bank were unforgettable.
The trip started from the top of the Andes, in Cusco, winded down a dirt road through a cloud forest (orchids and hummingbirds) to a big Madre de Dios River and continued in a boat into the depths of the untouched reserved zone of Manu.
The lodges were excellent, whereas all our lodges were quite “luxurious” with private showers –! The other lodges had very clean rooms, good mosquito netting and most had private bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean.
The arrangements to feed us were amazing. Our cook was great and creative. We had 3 course meals, which usually started with a very tasty soup or salad, after which I was so full that there was not always space for the main course and dessert. I cannot understand how Paulino was able to provide fresh, clean and tasty food in large quantities throughout the trip – but he did. The breakfasts ranged from hot scrambled eggs served in the (relatively small) boat to hot pancakes served on a parrot observation platform!
The arrangements were made with attention to detail, and we really got our money’s worth of jungle hikes. Nobody in the group wanted to stay in the lodge during the hikes in fear missing something really Great!
I do highly recommend Local Trekkers Peru for your trip operator to Manu Reserved zone amazing wilderness, with a very good price/quality ratio, careful attention to detail during the trip, and fabulous, skilled and professional staff in the rainforest, even they are a Little more expensive than the others is very worth it, you won’t regret.

My family and I we just returned from a trip to Manu with Local Trekkers Peru. The wildlife was spectacular (even for a non-birder). I had high expectations for what I wanted to see. It was a very physically active trip with hikes every day & getting up early to catch the early morning wildlife activity but there was some down time as well when you were riding in the dugout boat. I had taken snacks with me as I didn't think that there would be enough food (or that I might not like the food) but this wasn't needed. Our cook Paulino made wonderful meals with local produce as well as provided both healthy fruit snacks, crackers, cookies & candy during the day. The accommodations on this trip exceeded my expectations & I was pleasantly surprised to have "flush toilets" as well as access to showers every day. The highlight of the trip was spotting a jaguar just off the trail on our last hike of the trip. We were a family of 5 people. We took the 6 Day / 5 night trip but wished we had taken the 9 day as we hated to leave.
Maybe the best part of the trip was our guide, Nefi. He was incredibly knowledgable about the forest and truly loved his job. He did everything with us, from relax in the hot springs to eat tree grubs. He went above and beyond by stopping in random towns between Cusco and the forest so we could take pictures or do a little souvenir shopping. He was very funny and went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome.
We cannot recommend Local Trekkers Peru highly enough. It was a great time!

This Amazon jungle that preserves its life culture and is full of wild animals is recommended for any wildlife lover. I traveled to Manu in November with a travel agency Green Amazon Tours Peru and they filled me with great joy by showing me this natural jewel What is Manu?

We booked our trip to Manu National Park with Local Trekkers Peru thanks to the recomendations of some friends, honestly we had some fear before to book with them but once in cusco we met Alberto the manager of this agency who was very friendly and he cleared all our doubs and questions. Also we met Ronald our guide one day before our trip starting.
And the main reason we booked with Local Trekkers was Alberto told us that they provided job to local people and during the trip we realized that.
We did 7D/6N manu reserve zone and we could definetly do it again and recommend it.
We loved the different tracks – never bored, great variety.
during the trip everything was perfect, our guide Ronald was very knowledgeable he could explain everything we learned a lot about flora and fauna of the Amazon.
We saw more than we expected to see, we saw hundreds of birds like the cock of the rock, falcons, great egrets, hoatzin,and we saw hundreds of parrots and parakeets in the parrots clay lick.
Also we saw bigs mammals like capibaras, wild bords and we were very lucky because we saw a jaguar.
Food was very tasty, looked and tasted, very good !!! nicely prepared and decorated food concerning. Great variety, always different and fresh like the local tast. And the chef Paulino was always friendly and smiling.
Our boat driver Augusto was very helpful he always indicated us when he saw some animal. And he helped Paulino to Install the kitchen when we arrived in every lodge. And of course all our lodges where we stayed were very confortable and pretty much clean.
And the transport that we used to go and to come back to cusco was very confortable too.
For these reason i would like to recommend to do the Manu National Park with Local Trekkers Peru you won’t regret.
And the main reason we booked with Local Trekkers was Alberto told us that they provided job to local people and during the trip we realized that.

Este viaje fue espectacular! ! Los animales, la comida, el alojamiento, el transporte en los botes y autobuses, los guías y las actividades fueron increíbles, Gracias a Terra Quechua Peru todo estuvo perfectamente planeado
Damian, nuestro guía, estaba muy bien informado, era adaptable y ayudó a que el viaje fuera tan bueno como lo fue. Realmente apreciamos su capacidad para adaptar las actividades a nuestros intereses al incluir caminatas adicionales para encontrar más animales, ya que estábamos muy entusiasmados con esto. Fue hermoso ver tantos animales como nosotros en sus entornos naturales.
¡La comida fue muy rica! El personal hizo un gran esfuerzo para hacer de las comidas una experiencia cultural y nunca decepcionó.
Si no tiene miedo de ensuciarse las manos y está interesado en una aventura con animales, hermosos paseos por la jungla, deliciosa comida y alojamiento en medio de la jungla, ¡este es el tour para usted!.Fue toda una aventura que no olvidaré, y por eso, me alegro de haberlo hecho.

We spent 5 days / 4 nights in manu with TERRA QUECHUA PERU. We wish we could have stayed longer, but that's all time allowed, but we still love the experience.
The pick up was perfect on time, the bus was very comfortable and the trip to manu park is long but fun. During the trip, you will get enough stops at nice places! You will see hundreds of hummingbirds during this trip! The accommodations themselves were simply amazing. Imagine sleeping in the lodges in the middle of the jungle with (bug-proof) sleeping with all the sounds of the jungle. Truly amazing experience! The lodge itself is very clean, well maintained and above all has a very nice shower! I wish I could sleep with the sounds of the jungle every day, such a special place.
day/night activities are a nice variation of jungle walks, boat rides, visits to the clay lick early in the morning (to see the magnificent birds). Sailing on the Amazon river with all the sounds of the jungle and beautiful views was such a peaceful, truly wonderful experience.
Our guide Dante impressed me so much, his eyes could spot animals so easily, very impressive, worth every second and penny to stay a little longer and let him create this jungle bubble for you.

Hello,
I am looking to book a 4 days 3 nights tour to Manu Park from Cuzco. I spotted 2 companies that have great reviews (Amazon Wildlife Peru and Manu Rainforest Peru).
They both offer the 4d/3n tour at around 500 USD per person. I am wondering if it is a good price? Does anyone have other quoted prices that are lower?

I think it is a good price. I paid 1200 euros for the 7 day trip, also with Amazon Wildlife. But I would recommend taking a few days more. With the 4-day trip you will see the birds (quetzals, cock-of-the-rock), some monkeys, and with some luck a tapir at the tapir lick or a spider at the hot bath. But only with a longer tour you really get into the jungle, with the otters, caymen, hoatzins, possibly a jaguar.
