It's not big like LA history museum. There are two storeys, good for kids and senior don't need to walk too long. But, still give yourself four hours to spend inside. Lots of information, lots of collections, special is birds eggs collection which is the 5th largest in the world. Minerals, rocks, earth sciences..... It's very interesting.
Parking is free. Adult $10, senior $8, student$7, child age 5 to 12 is $5, under 5 is free.

There were historical animals like Mammoth. There wte many of them. Really interesting.

We saw a lot of cacti. I liked that.
In an other place was about earthquakes.
Lots of stuffed birds.
Beautiful rocks
About humans
A visit to a train.
Visiting a few animals.
I liked the past that our parents liked. It is really changed now.
We enjoyed our Museum.
A must see! Not boring at all. It was truly great!

I am so glad this Museum is finally open again! It is a wonderful museum, and San Bernardino County can be extremely proud of this amazing facility!
Although I do miss all the bird eggs, it has been completely renovated and is so wonderful! Then the Covid situation caused it to close. Now it has reopened, and I look foward to my grandkids and I enjoying the new family membership I purchased in January!
The Wooly Mammoth room overhead ramps are being upgraded so that area is still closed, but we sure will enjoy the rest of this special Museum! Be sure to plan a visit soon, with your grandkids, bring your picnic lunch to enjoy in the patio! If you've never been here I know you will be delighted and return often!

An easy to find, first class local museum. Plenty of parking. Lots of interactive exhibits. I am a member; this is a GREAT place to bring children of ALL ages.

We use our grandsons as an excuse for our visits to the museum, but we enjoy it as much as they do! The docents in the dinosaur exhibit are excellent and they spent time explaining what they do and discoveries they have found. They have many hands-on opportunities for the kids, and local critters to learn about. Great place to spend a few hours exploring for anyone!

I was visiting California from Derby. England. My girlfriend and I saw the sign for this museum. I love visiting these places because as they say use them or lose them. I was very impressed by the open clean airy spaces and the very varied exhibits. The people who run the museum were friendly and informative. I recommend this museum.

My husband and I recently visited the San Diego & Palm Desert areas and toured this museum on our final day of outings before flying home to PA. We enjoyed it very much, especially the nice mix of regional history, earth sciences, and natural history--all topics we love. All of the galleries were attractive, informative, and fresh-looking. The presentations would appeal to youths & adults equally. We especially enjoyed the gems & minerals and the animal biodiversity displays, particularly the birds. (The Remember Ramps between the two levels of galleries were fun to see, too.) We don't accept the "millions & billions of years" in the explanations for world events as was posted in the Hall of Earth Sciences (we hold a young-earth worldview), but other than that we enjoyed learning about the creative design and contents of our amazing planet.
All in all, we spent about 2 full hours here; it was time well spent. This museum was easy to find from the main highway and had plentiful free onsite parking. The admission was very reasonable.

If your into Taxidermy, Gems and rocks, this place is for you. A few really nice artifacts from Mexico. Enjoyed learning about the history of San Bernardino and surrounding areas but if you look closely some are replicas and most aren't even dated. Not worth the $10 and drive.

We were pleasantly surprised with this museum. We, unfortunately, arrived a bit late, around 3:00 PM and had only a couple of hours to check out the museum. Overall, we probably could have used another hour or two.
The museum has indoor and outdoor exhibits along with picnic areas and ample parking. The indoor exhibits include great examples of local information, including geology, fossils, anthropology, etc. If you're a rock hound, the museum has a very good collection of rocks, minerals and fossils. Locals will also be pleased by the fact that a lot of the fossils are from regional areas, such as the Marble Mountains, Cajon Pass, and the Barstow areas. You'll also get a kick out of the "Remember Ramps" which have exhibits and displays of phones (and now mobile devices), computers, calculators, cameras and such. It's really funny to see stuff I used to have now part of a museum exhibit!
Overall, I could recommend probably a good three to four hours at this museum. It's well worth the visit. Parking is ample and the restrooms are clean and well maintained.

About how long does it take to get through the whole museum?

Depends on what are the interesting things you want to know. I will say give yourself two hours.
