The military discount was not what you would expect. It was only given to the one individual that had a dependent military ID card on them at the time (we were on vacation), so we got a $1 discount on a large family. We spoke with the manager and that is their policy, even if the active duty member does not have their military ID on them or if their dependent children are too young to have a military ID. Some of the animatronics worked, others did not and they were not that impressive. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Very underwhelmed with the experience. The animatronics look like they need updating . It should be $10 entry fee for everything at most.

Have the floor manager Becky tell the truth. Took my granddaughter on Monday the 3rd. Went out on the Wild Walk. The Dinosaurs were not turned on so they were not making noise. Went inside afterwards and the floor manager said they were on. I could see the sensors to make them "Come to life." She said she would let someone know. We went out to the dig pit and they were on.
Went back into the gift shop to make a purchase. Becky said they were already when we went out. No they weren't. Was not offered a discount. Did not ask for one. I don't deal with liars.

This is my second time to this venue. The first time was three years ago with my grand daughter and her son. It was fiery hot that day and I wasn’t impressed. He was 2 1/2 and did the little ropes course and enjoyed the dig, but the heat made the walk almost unbearable.
Fast forward to today. I went with my daughters family with kids ages 2-7 and had a great time! The weather was cooler( unusual for Canon City at the end of June) and one of the museum supervisors was very engaging, explaining exhibits and conversing with both the adults AND the kids; her name is Alexa and she’s awesome! All the employees were extremely nice.
The kids loved the ropes course; Two of them did the more “adult” course and one did the smaller kids course. They loved the dig area finding a couple fossils and lots of sharks teeth. It was hard to narrow down which to put in their bags, but they did it.
They enjoyed the dinosaur walk, but some of those Dino’s need plastic surgery, thru are obviously worn.
They did most everything, then we went next door for lunch and came back to finish up and do the ropes course again.
This is a great place to take younger kids for several hours of dinosaur fun!

Alexa was a tour guide for the museum and she was INCREDIBLE. We initially went to take my son we were not expecting a tour but I’m so glad we got one. Alexa was so knowledgeable and passionate about her job- we learned so much from her! This museum is great for children and adults. 💯 worth it

We were not even planning on visiting here for our trip to Canon City. What a surprise. The kids had a fabulous time on the climbing adventure course. Staff were super nice and helpful . The walk through was cute but the tour we got from Alexa was exceptional. I always love places where you get a private tour. Alexa was so excited about the subject better. I will say that this place is best for families unless you are up for the rope course. My kids are aged 14, 9 and 6 and they all gave this place a 2 thumbs up. Note, they go all out for Halloween!

I love dinosaurs so I definitely had to stop here. There are 4 activities to choose from: the museum, the dino walk, the rope course, and the dig. We only did the museum and the dino walk. The museum was very interesting. There was a guide who walked us through and told us so many things I had never heard before! It was very informative and interesting. This was our favorite part! The dino walk is ok. This would probably be better for kids since the dinosaurs have motion sensors and move and roar when you walk near them. I mean it was cool but I've been to dinosaur world in Glen Rose, TX and it's way better. It's definitely worth the price of admission though which is pretty reasonable. Parking is free and there is a nice sized gift shop as well. Definitely worth a stop if you have kids who love dinosaurs.

We were going to go to this place but once we saw it in person, we said nope! It had nothing there! Not much to see or do so we decided not to go into it. Your local museum would be much better than this place.

Very informative exhibits. Interesting guides in the museum. You learn a lot about the hundreds of millions of years of history that formed the earth and the changes from the various time periods. Great exhibits. The outdoor walkthrough was nice as well as you get to see nice replicas of dinosaurs. Rope walk was used by many. Well worth the time. Reasonable costs too. My only suggestion is to add a musical from the 50's and 60's, starring the famous singer "DinahShoreus". Sorry about the last part, I could not resist the pun.

After reading reviews, it seems many dinosaurs and some ropes were not working properly...are they now fully operational? Thanks.

On the rope tower every thing was working. The “Wild Walk “ all the dinosaurs have motion sensors so if you don’t move toward them, they don’t move. If you have kids 12 or younger they will love it.

Sorry, I'm just now seeing this. The Dinosaur Experience is open Thursday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, probably until Memorial Day weekend. Then they'll most likely be open every day with extended hours. They're closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Easter.

We have a tight time schedule. Can you pay for a single outdoor adventure and still get into the gift shop? Or do you have to pay general admission to check out the gift shop?
Rédigé le 26 mars 2017
We paid to see the dinosaurs outside and had access to the gift shop. You do not need to pay for the museum or ropes courses if you just want to see the dinosaurs. The walking tour is great and takes as much time as you want to give it and then you leave through the gift shop. Great marketing! Our 5 year old grandson was overwhelmed by the dinosaurs.
