It is conveniently located across from the public parking lot and St. George St.
We were very impressed by the displays on the history of the area and the artifacts from archeological digs done in the 1930's. The staff was very helpful about restaurants and local sights of interest. Alot of brochures and coupon books are available.

This is a very modern Visitor Center. Restroom facilities, lots to see about the history of the city, and a nice little gift shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Located in an old arena is a great visitors' center. Not only do they have the mandatory tourist pamphlets but there are people that will help you plan your various excursions. There is a small museum about the history of St. Augustine. Gift shop. Plenty of room. Clean bathroom. Just a short walk to the fort and St.Rogers.

Great place to park in town and very informative before you start your day here. It is just a short walk to downtown and the fort.

What a shame. This has great information as a primer for viewing the city BUT it's filled with homeless people that harass you. The worst is when you're trying to take care of your young children and a homeless woman is asking you for money. St. Augustine really need to do something about this problem.

What a charming old city is St. Augustine with rich history, richer food and friendly shops. It's too bad that the city fathers have turned to"Pirating for Profit."
When you arrive in St. Augustine to start out at the Visitor's Center, you ride around the blocks a couple of times only to find absolutely no temporary visitor parking around the ornate buildings. If you want to stop, your wallet will be $15 lighter, there isn't any other choice. That's right, enourmous visitor taxes, plus $15 to park at tge Visitor's Center. And, if you park in the wrong place, watch out, ticket or tow in minutes.
Funny thing. Private parking is about $10, usually from morning to 11:00 PM. The city charges more for shorter periods. There are no proximity municipal parking lots and courtesy shuttles some cities offer, only the monstrous, costly deck at the visitor center.
It's a warm, beautiful city, but get ready for "Pirating for Parking."

Excellent visitor center. Great staff in a roomy environment with interesting displays, as well as plenty of tourist brochures, a big gift shop, and public bathrooms. Excellent postcard collection.

The information center is housed in a lovely building with a shop, and some exhibits. The cost for parking in the nearby visitor lot is $15 flat rate.
We picked up a map and noticed that NO ONE was wearing masks. I asked about this and was told they don’t need to wear masks because they (residents of St Augustine) are ALL vaccinated because “we are a small town”. I was shocked because the vaccinations are not 100% effective AND these people interact with tourists from areas other than St. Augustine. My husband and I were 2 such tourists AND (in spite of being vaccinated) are in the high risk group (over 70 & heart condition) AND we personally know of people who have been infected AFTER vaccination. When I started to explain this, the woman became very defensive and rude.
It should have come as no shock to us then that people in the tourist district were NOT wearing masks either. There was no distancing… it was a crowd. Perhaps the worst occurrence was when we entered an ice cream shop and watched as a maskless young woman coughed into her gloved hand and then used it to pick up sprinkles to add to a customer’s sundae. She did this twice! We left!
Our advice is DON’T BOTHER WITH ST. AUGUSTINE… Neither the tacky tourist trap town nor the information center. They just don’t care about the health and safety of others. Somehow they don’t seem to have gotten the message that “my mask protects you and your mask protects me.”
Note: only 47% of St Augustine’s residents are vaccinated as of 5 days ago.

Good question.
I would call as the person below suggested.
Because so many more non food places such as Lowes, etc are allowing pets...
Maybe.
after all, if you are traveling you cannot leave your pet in the car...
If you find out, please let others know. Thank you.
The fantastic Visitors Center is free and worth your time to find all about St Augustine area.

The Picasso fountains are outside the visitors center and can be viewed as you enter and leave the visitor center. There is no cost, and you can step close, take photos, and sit nearby. The visitor center is beautiful, has restrooms, exhibits, drinking fountains, gift shop, and is air conditioned.
