We visited Tuesday, Aug.13th,2019 Buddy was our tour guide. He was very knowledgable and explained various operations of the factory in great detail. As a former employee (1966-1970) it brought back many pleasant memories of earning my Commercial and Flight Instructor certifications and building hundreds of fuselage bottoms and meeting Mr. Piper twice. The second time he remembered my name. Seeing how the Factory had changed over the years was a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. As I said Buddy was an excellent guide, but I must mention Bambi in the gift shop who took time to tell me about The Former Employees Facebook page. She showed it to me on the computer and I saw one of the friends on Facebook that I taught to fly while I was working at Piper. Overall it was certainly worth the trip to Vero for the tour. Thanks again Buddy.

If you have any interest in "how things are made", you will enjoy this tour. This tour is of interest even for non-pilots. We observed many stages of manufacturing and assembly and saw many specialized pieces of equipment. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and welcomed questions. This tour does require a lot of walking and ability to go up/down stairs. Hearing protection and safety glasses are provided since they are required in the factory. Don't forget to stop in the 'Pilots Shop' after the tour to purchase Piper swag. Note: you must have a photo ID to take the tour; no photography is allowed on the tour; and you must reserve tour ahead of time. The tour is free.

If you need to get in your 10,000 daily steps, this is an awesome and interesting place to achieve that goal. As a new equipment trainer, I got the Tour Plus package because it was one on two. Piper is an amazing plant that is fully integrated from design, manufacturing, assembly and finally they paint & finish their Planes. If anyone wanted to learn about 1st class Aircraft's, this is the tour you need to take.

Today we took a tour of the Piper Aircraft Factory and it was an eye opener! It was INFORMATIVE with many details about quality control of building a Piper! The 2 hour walking tour was explained every step of the way. We could also ask questions and every question was answered. Our guide Buddy was a Pro and his knowledge was in the superlative realm. All the employees were focused and sometimes looked up to greet us with a smile. We enjoyed the ladies at check-in. We were welcomed the minute we walked in the door. It was an extraordinary experience with an expert leading our tour. We recommend this tour to anyone who like aviation. You will not be disappointed and be so happy you explored this jewel in Vero Beach. When you see a plane in the sky you will have a new respect for the extreme mechanical marvel it takes to build each one.

I was introduced to general aviation by my boyfriend a few years ago. We initially rented an airplane out of Apopka, but Sal recently became a Piper owner with partners. He went to flight school in Vero Beach and was eager to visit the Piper Factory with me. We made arrangements for a 1 PM tour on Thurdayand flew in from Leesburg. The check-in was quick: they held onto our photo ID's and we received a visitor's badge, safety glasses, and ear plugs. After discussing safety procedures and the no-photo policy, we were on our way. Sal had mentioned that we'd be flying in in a Piper Arrow when he reserved and our tour guide shared information about how the factory had changed since his plane had been built. This information was given in addition to the tour information.

We both enjoyed the tour. I have never been in a factory and am not well-versed in aviation maintenance, so everything was new to me. Sal was able to understand more and ask questions. Overall, we had a great afternoon. After the tour, we visited the gift shop and had lunch at C.J. Cannon's before heading back to Leesburg.

Happened across Vero beach on my way North and drove past the airport when it dawned on me that this was where the mighty Piper was made.
I was only here for the day, so was very fortunate to have found a slot on the tour. (thank you for fitting me in).
Our tour guide Rick (an ex employee) took us through the manufacturing process of three of the aircraft types that were being built that month.
He was a font of knowledge and passionate about what he was doing.
About two hours and incredibly it was free.
If you like aircraft, Piper, assembly this is the tour for you.
Wonderful. Thanks very much.

We were vacationing on the FL east coast looking for manufacturing tours. I chose Piper Aircraft because I knew my husband, having been a pilot and taking his first flight in a Piper single engine plane, would enjoy the Piper Aircraft plant tour. We had a guided 2 hour walking tour throughout the plant, seeing the various assembly steps along the way. Our guide explained what was happening at each step and willingly answered our many questions. The fact that each Piper Aircraft is individually made to order and has so many "hands on" procedures, was fascinating. It is truly a "made in America" aircraft. The tour is a real "must" for all small aircraft enthusiasts, but not for those who have trouble walking considerable distances on concrete floors. There are no photos allowed inside the facility.

The Piper tour is free and well worth the visit. We had 12 on our tour and Rick explained every detail as we walked through the factory. I thought we were going to get to see the fuselage attached to the wings but they weren't quite ready to lift it with the attached crane so we missed that :(. The quality control is amazing, watching how each part is assembled. So interesting to see the wiring boards where all the electronic wiring is assembled to put into the planes. If you have any interest in planes and flying, it is well worth the time. Reservations are a must!

The factory tour was a really interesting look into the assembly and parts that need to come together to make a smaller aircraft. It's a small enough production area that you can get close to some of the machines and they'll let you hold some parts. For me it was most fascinating to see the industry and work behind the finished product. So often we only get to see the planes as they get ready to leave a runway.

Only complaint was it was often hard to heard the tour-guide, despite them keeping the groups small. I'd recommend going during the 12:30 tour because a lot of the workers will be on lunch then and it'll be quieter for the first half at least.
