Pioneer Court -- a 46000 sq. ft (4273.5 sq. m), granite paved, publicly and privately owned plaza -- has a very central location at 401 N Michigan Avenue; it is surrounded by historic buildings, landmarks, and attractive city sights: Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building, Michigan Avenue Bridge, Chicago River.
In 2017, Apple Global Flagship Store (Apple Michigan Avenue) opened at Pioneer Court, also providing a direct, easy access to Chicago Riverwalk.
Pioneer Court is a regular host of many cultural events in the city -- festivals, art displays, filming projects, weddings.
From Pioneer Court the views of the city are spectacular. It is estimated, that daily about 22,000 people visit Pioneer Court -- a very famous and a very popular plaza in the city. Love it!

Pioneer Court is an open plaza situated just to the south of the Chicago Tribune Tower between Michigan Ave. and Cityfront Plaza Dr. This is a pedestrian pathway and open space where seasonal events are held.
You can also use the open space to view the upper floors of the Tribune, Wrigley and other architecturally impressive buildings at this location. There is a Foxtrot, Blue Bottle Coffee Shop (opening soon) and the bright pink Museum of Ice Cream located half way down the pedestrian lanes of the Court, just beside the Tribune.

The location of Pioneer Court can't be beat - it is a central plaza between N Michigan Avenue, Tribune Tower, Equitable Life Assurance of America Building (a skyscraper at 401 N Michigan Ave), a new Apple Store (opened in 2017) and Michigan Ave Bridge.
Pioneer Court is not that large, but now it's decorated for holidays, plus it opens to some fantastic views of major central landmarks and attraction sites of the city, including Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building, Chicago River, and London Guarantee Building across Michigan Avenue Bridge.
Great place.

Walking down the Magnificent Mile one morning last week, I stopped at Pioneer Court. It is located just south of Tribune Tower. It is bordered on the south by the Chicago River. It extends on the west to Michigan Avenue. It is bordered on the east by the
401 N. Michigan Building. Chicago’s founder, Jean Baptiste Pointe de Sable is believed to have lived where the Tribune Tower is located. A fur trader, John Kinzie, is believed to have lived in this area as well. Pioneer Court was built in 1965. It was built to honor our city’s founder and other pioneers like John Kinzie who settled in the area. This is a great place for tourists to gather. Tickets for boat rides on the Chicago River were being sold while I was there. Pioneer Court has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. This is where you can find a Monument to our city’s founder, Jean Baptiste Pointe de Sable which is located there.
