This place is pitiful. It once had cool exhibits but time has left them torn up and missing pieces. The admission has gone up too, about 7-8 more dollars. It’s as if time has forgotten this place. I’ve addressed it every time I’m there and they assure me there are future updates which I assume is the reason for doubling the admission fee. Hard pass on this one.

Personal view: Good for children<10. This nostalgic building used to be the Evansville Library. We have been members here for years and it was in disrepair when we signed up in 2015 and it has gone further down hill since then. No doubt Covid had something to do with it but many of the exhibits are broken and have been for years.
Exhibits:
Water Area(Broken):There is a water area that spans 2 floors. This is mostly broken. It looks like its supposed to simulate a washing machine cycle using water flows and plastic balls.
First floor: Climbing play area and slide a model bank area with drive up window, building lego race cars (broken), construction area with rubber bits and ride on digger toy (broken) and a changing exhibit area.
2nd Floor: Mini theatre where children can dress up (broken) not many costume pieces. Face painting area (rarely any paints), usually a rotating ares and crafts area. Procussion room where kids can bang on bells and drums and be loud. Reading area/Rain room for little ones with a good selection of books and pads for them to climb on. Play Doctors office, Farmers Market and Lunchonette.
3rd Floor Play International room where children can learn about what its like in different countries like mexico and japan. They are exposed to clothing, food and languages. Large Traintable. Art room for painting and other crafts. 3D Printer where kids can pick a project and watch the printer make it. Limit to 20 min project so small items can be made no bigger than a golf ball.

Sad children museum. Took my grandkids while they were visiting. And really not much to see or do for them. The entrance price is high and they really do not do much to add and make fun for the little ones. Specially here were there is not much to do. As a military family we been everywhere and this is the saddest children's museum I have ever been to.

Took our 2 year old and 4 year old littles to the museum while both were in town. The Evansville museum packed as much in their space as some of the "big city" children's museums we've visited in the past. Both kids were 100% occupied and would hae stayed all day if we had the time. The 2 year old loves all things construction and cars of any type. He loved every bit of the construction room. The vacuum scarf tube was a variation on the ball vacuum tubes we've seen in other museums and was a nice change. Both loved the extra effort of stuffing the scarf into the vacuum tube. The kitchen area and climbing opporunities were great. Thye also both liked the soft building blocks room. Since it was winter we skipped the water feature but we'll grab that one on a summer visit. We were super happy there was plenty to entertain both ages.

My 3 year old had a blast, he did not want to leave. He particularly loved the duct work that shot out the scarves. We were only there a little over an hour, and didn't get to see everything.

We had a fun visit here with our four year old and 18 month old. There was plenty to keep both of our children occupied! Some favorites were the water room, toddler pyramid, and play garden. We noticed several new displays since our last visit over a year ago. The displays and toys all seemed very clean and well cared for, too. This is a lovely place to bring your children to, tuck your phone/devices away, and just play together!
The one complaint we had about our visit is that while we were there, there was a group of birthday party kids that got a bit rowdy. Some older kids from the group (12 or 13 years old) were full-speed running through rooms and jumping off displays as they played chase; they almost ran into my daughter’s stroller and I had to say some thing to them. I don’t blame the museum for the behavior of these kids, but perhaps they could have an employee monitor the second and third floors (where this happened) a bit more to help prevent such instances. However, this definitely will not deter us from coming back, as such a thing
can and does happen at any venue for kids!

Fun afternoon with my four year old. Loved the Japanese play kitchen and the large blue foam blocks. The duck duck area was not working. A few other exhibits were not working as well but fortunately there was still quite a bit of other activities to do. Good price for entertainment for a family wanting to escape the heat on a hot day.

This is a good place for the kids on a rainy day or any day! They are adding a few new attractions to make it even more fun for the kids.

My kids really enjoyed visiting the museum. They loved the water sensory area and the building area.

Is it very crowded typically on a weekend in jan? My little girl walks with forarm sticks and has a hard time trying to maneuver around with a big crowd. Just curious :)

Hi,
Typically, cMoe is busy. However, after 1pm we are quieter. My recommendation would be to visit after lunch time.
I hope this helps!
