The museum is very informative. The best part was that at least two of the people who participated in the digs were present to introduce the exhibits. One piece of good news: There is now a golf cart to take you around the site. It was really appreciated as the outside temperature was 45C.

well, it is the best place for those who have a keen interest in old historical places and architecture. It is 15 km from Harappa city. It closed around 5 in the summer season and around 4 in the winter season. Harappa museum I am not satisfied with the things present in it. It is too small for such a fantastic civilization although other .attraction in this site like the graveyard, the well, no gazi qabar are things to watch. Better to visit in a temperate season because it is too much hot and humid in summer season. No guide is available for your guideline.

Harappa since its inception has remained almost continuously occupied as a settlement for over 5500 years. It was first identified as ruins of an ancient city in 1826 by a British Army deserter, James Lewis, posing as an American engineer named Charles Masson. The museum was established in 1926 and then in 1966 its building was constructed by the Government of Pakistan. Its a small but good museum, perfect after a walk around the mounds. Some of the major finds on display include seals, games, weights, pottery and figurines of all sorts.

Harappa is a custodian of Indus Valley Civilisation. The museum at Harappa needa lot of attention. Government has to take measures to not only save this arch site but also to present it in best possible way. Follwing are suggested:-
a. Proper tourist information centre
b. A souvineer industry may be eatablished
c. Road network and hotels
d. Media and social media campaign
e. Preservation of artefacts labs.

i visited Harappa Museum few years ago with my colleages. This museum is informative historical .It is a place related to Ancient Pakistani history. Harappa is our ancient city Belong to Indus valley civilization time between 3300- 1300 BC. Harappa was one of the earliest cities from the world. Now it is archeological site base museum This museum display shows the history about how we were living that time, at that time we have proper infrastructure about daily life, town planning and economically. The museum preserves this history. If you love the history then you must go and explore. But Government needs to maintain about artifacts and museum. I spent an amazing time on this place.

Harappa is an ancient city and not a civilisation. Indus Valley Civilisation of Pakistan is one of the oldest civilisations in the entire world. Pakistan have a settled history of over 9000 years starting from from the ancient city of Mehrgarh (7000 BC), located between Quetta and Sibi in Balochistan; Rehman Dheri (4000 BC) in Khayber Pukhtunkhwa; Harappa (over 3000 BC) in Punjab; Mohenjo Daro (2500 BC) in Sindh; having more than 50,000 rock carvings, 5000 inscriptions and many other heritage resources ranging from the Neolithic period of 8 to 9 000 years ago, in Gilgit Baltistan and the first university in the world (Taxila University) located close to Islamaba, the capitol of Pakistan. Pakistan is a civilisational state.

Its just 1.8 Km from Harappa City. Harappa city is linked with rest of the country specially Sahiwal with public transport. From Harappa city one can hire a ricshaw, taxi, or suzuki to reach museum.
