Trams on the Friday were constant from St Kilda/Toorak Road up to gates 7-10 though when leaving we ended up walking a few blocks as they were so overcrowded with massive lines. Friday we sat in the Waite Grandstand which ended up being a good choice with quite a bit of action on this corner. Right behind it was the car displays and large food area with a large toilet area as well.
Saturday and Sunday we were on the general admission passes entering at Gate 5 which is quieter but brought chairs and a blanket with us, got there very early as gates opened and had a great view on the back straight near the Button stand. View was unobstructed by others as we were sitting in front of the fence.
Lines for food varied depending on the time we went and what was on track, some times were very short waits and others quite long. Toilet queues were long but moved very fast so no issues there either.
We had a good time this year compared to 2022 with the addition of the F2 and F3 to the program. When we went last and will try to make it an annual visit.

The overpass to get to various parts of the track was REALLY congested. F1 is noisy so come prepared with ear plugs. Seeing the race around various track angles is a great perk of having a parks pass. Some food is quite overpriced.

We attended last year with grandstand tickets and had a great time, always enjoy visiting Melbourne. Was very difficult to secure grandstand tickets this time (when bookings open we just kept hitting a brick wall every time we hit refresh) so we gave up and bought GA tickets instead for $400 each. Big mistake. In 2020 that got us gold grandstand access with pit stop walk and access to an exclusive gazebo area.. but then was cancelled on Thurs. GA is fine on Thurs and Fri but once the weekend starts it’s difficult to get a good spot and you have to stand for every race because everyone in front of you stands up. We gave up on Sunday and grabbed a spot in front of a big screen- told hubby we might as well be at home. Big attendance numbers are great for profits but not for the fans. Seemed like lots of young people- likely mostly locals- were treating it like a music festival and not even watching the action, just taking up space so real fans couldn’t see. Off track displays weren’t as good as previous years and the music wasn’t worth sticking around for. We’re hoping numbers and ticket demand will reduce in a couple of years since drive to survive has wrapped up. Won’t return next year, maybe 2026 if we can get grandstand tickets at pre-drive to survive pricing. Heading further afield instead. As an aside, wouldn’t recommend Singapore one either- main attractions largely shut down, high pricing and extremely classist ticket and zoning system, and weather was terrible. Greenday were awesome tho.

An excellent four days for our family. We had an excellent time with GA tickets. Staff were good at keeping people informed and the site was mainly clean. Sunday race day it was disappointing to have full bins on arrival. There should be more big screen TV’s for those on GA tickets particularly along the DRS zone at the back of the track. There’s plenty of room and if more TV’s were available this would spread the crowd along the straight.

We bought a multi-day pass to Aus GP. Wanted to see Supercars as much as F1.

Bought our tickets through P1 Travel. Won't do THAT again.

Ricciardo Stand is between T3 and T4. About 100m of track. You can't see ANY action. You spend your time looking left and right and ... we didn't bother going back after the first practice session. Packed up and went home 2 days early!

P1 travel advertised the stand as exit of P4 so you could at least see along the small straight and 2 corners. Wrong!

Great views...took photos. Nice feeling to be on the F1 tracks, where the events are so exiting. The world awaits eagerly for the competitive high octane events.

We booked premium covered seats at frangio stand for 750 aud each. The arrangements were bad and it was muddy at the entrance with no clear directions. Felt they weren’t worth what we paid as we had a pillar affecting our view. It was a money making event for F1. Record breaking More people meant more trouble for the patrons who already booked earlier. Food was ultra expensive and had lines about 1/2 to 1 hr long. Getting to and out of the event was a horrible experience enough to be a super spreader event .
Must say I’ll skip Melbourne going ahead and just continue to watch the event on the tv. It’s money thrown in the bin. I might visit other countries instead .

Had a blast, but need deep pockets, the entry fee and Stand tickets need saving for! No point doing general admission, there were 130,000 people in Albert Park on Sunday and at 5 foot 3, I found in 2022, it was pointless trying to view the track. This year a huge improvement on 2022 with water available and more food stalls, more big screens, the year before was pitiful. The only criticism would be the idiocy of restarting from the grid with three laps to go. The carnage at turn one was heartbreaking, with cars destroyed as every driver back in with a chance, and then to ice the cake of stupidity, they ran one more lap under the safety car! WTF the race should have been called with 3 to go and all this crap would have been avoided. Not sure whose decision it was but someone needed his/her head reading. What were they thinking! Could only have been heat stroke from the sunny day!

The Australian F1 Grand Prix extravaganza returns to Albert Park from 30 Match to 22 April 2023. After the Covid induced hiatus, the Australian Grand Prix has returned to Melbourne bigger and better than ever. The Australian Grand Prix is always a huge event, making your bookings early if you want to join the celebrations.

Finally managed to get here for the Formula 1. Attended over the full 4 days so was able to explore the track and venues around the park. Great set up and excellent use of the facility, very easy to get around and made for a fantastic event and weekend overall.
