Trekking along the lower Mustang area between Jomsom Muktinath trek, Marpha and Tatopani will be passing by this beautiful gorge and nature. The trekking path is windy with beautiful scenery. A great motivation for trekkers with beautiful views. We had a wonderful and memorable time trekking despite the tiring journey!

Gandaki river followed us from Gajendra Moksham temple to
river Pasupathinath temple the last destination of our Pilgrimage. It makes the place fertile with lots of colorful flowers a feast to our eyes.I could see the Nepali women carrying grass at their back and some walking along the river with their kids bravely in dark highways surrounded by mountain.Really brave and hardworking.Kandaki river provides them means to living. A very good experience which I would never forget in my life time.The cable car ride to Manakama temple was really good with Gandaki river flowing all through the way.

Πέρα από το βάθος του φαραγγιού (περίπου 6000 μέτρα) αξίζει να δει κανείς την εναλλαγή στο τοπίο. Οι πηγές και ο σχηματισμός του ποταμού Kali Gandaki είναι σε τόπο που είναι συνέχεια του Θιβέτ. Στο βορρά η κοίτη είναι φαρδιά και όσο προχωρά προς το νότο, η Annapurna από τη μία πλευρά και το Dhaulagiri από την άλλη, "υποχρεώνουν" το νερό να μαζευτεί στο φαράγγι. Η φύση αλλάζει συνεχώς, νερά τρέχουν από παντού και εμπλουτίζουν το ποτάμι. Χωριά ψηλά στις πλαγιές ή και χαμηλότερα, όπου υπάρχει ανοιχτός τόπος.

Jadąc przez Mustang mamy okazje podróżować wzdłuż rzeki Kali Gandaki i podziwiać jej tajemnicze piękno , wąwóz , który przez tysiąclecia wyżłobiła , podobno jeden z najgłębszych na świecie , zwiedzać urokliwe wioski na jej brzegu . Kali Gandaki znaczy Czarna Rzeka , co rzeczywiście pokrywa się z jej kolorem. Kilkakrotnie przeprawiamy się z jednej strony rzeki na drugą , niekiedy ze względu na osuwiska jazda jeepem jest niemożliwa i konieczne są obejścia co tylko podnosi atrakcyjność całej wyprawy ponieważ w niższych partiach Himalajów idziemy przez las tropikalny i odkrywamy wioski, których podróżując głównym szlakiem nigdy byśmy nie zobaczyli.

Die beeindruckenden Hintergründe zur Schlucht und zur Umgebung wurden in vorherigen Bewertungen bereits bestens geschildert, vielen Dank.
Gerne möchte ich hier noch kurz die Busfahrt schildern: Auch wenn die Busfahrt von Pokhara nach Jomsom mit ca. 9 Stunden für gute 150km recht lange dauert, ist diese bereits ein Abenteuer für sich. Die ‘Strasse’ resp Piste ab Beni stellt höchste Anforderung an Mensch und Maschiene. Eine solche Strasse haben wir noch nie gesehen. Die zum Teil schmalen Passagen, welche von Bussen und LKWs mittels gekonnten koordinierten Manövern gekreuzt werden müssen und die sich auf dem Weg befindenden Brocken sind schon eine echte Herausforderung. Die öffentliche Busfahrt von Pokhara nach Jomsom oder auch andersrum verläuft meist entlang des Kali Gandaki Flusses und ist aufgrund des permanenten Schüttelns auch für die Passagiere nicht ohne. Zwischen Beni und Pokhara ist die Strasse ein wenig besser und teilweise asphaltiert. Die Strecke durch die Schlucht zwischen Jomsom und Pokhara könnte man auch als Teil des Annapurna Circuits erwandern, wobei uns die gesamte Strecke nicht gleichermassen reizend erschien, was jedoch Geschmacksache ist. Zumindest von unten bis hinten nach Kagbeni, wo man dem Flussbeet folgt ist das Ganze in der Trockenzeit eine recht staubige Angelegenheit.
Insgesamt eine sehr schöne und eindrückliche Umgebung, wobei man oben ab Jomsom oft einen Blick auf den wunderschönen Achttausender Dhaulagiri bekommt. Zudem hat es wunderschöne tibetische Dörfchen wie Marpha (nur 5km vor Jomsom) mit schönen Schlafmöglichkeiten. Einen Weg kann man ja mit dem Bus, den anderen allenfalls mit dem Flieger. Auf jeden Fall eignet sich die Region auch für nicht Hardcore Wanderer und solche, die nicht gleich zwei Wochen unterwegs sein möchten. Zwischen Jomsom via Kagbeni bis hoch nach Muktinath (auf ca. 3700müM) gibt es Transportmöglichkeiten wie Jeeps und Busse.

Per molti km vi accompagnerà entrando con voi nella valle più lunga del mondo.
A novembre è in periodo di siccità, per cui abbiamo percorso diversi tratti dentro il suo letto, anche guadandolo, con la nostra jeep, molto emozionante un tragitto da Overland, anche perché a volte la strada nn c era più, erosa dalle sue acque.
DA JOHNSON A LO MANTANG UPPER MUSTANG: Assolutamente da fare se amate l AVVENTURA quella vera.

I noticed this river only when i started my trek to Thumba lake. The river passes through mang villages in Mustang.
