Enjoyed a concert recently at the Xcel Center. The venue size is comfortable and easily accessible. The sound system was very good as well. We were very impressed.

Went to a concert here with my friend and the entry was a breeze. Staff were super helpful and able to provide clear instructions about merch, drinks, etc. At the top of our section before you went to your seat the staff member asked as many as possible if they know where their seats were or needed assistance. This was the first venue I have attended a concert where it was very warm inside.

The Xcel Energy Center is one of the best arenas in the NHL to watch a hockey game, whether you are a visiting or home fan. This is one of the best places to be a visiting fan at too. The fans are wonderful to interact with and there are rarely any nasty encounters with ill-behaved people.
This arena is also great in that no matter where you sit, there is no such thing as a bad seat. You will have a great view of the game and action even if you are up in the "nosebleeds". The games are often packed which adds to the experience as well. The crew does a great job of keeping fans engaged throughout the game as sitting in a seat watching hockey players skate back and forth can get tiresome after a while.
The arena is also quite clean and easy to navigate.
To summarize, if you're going to watch an NHL game, this is one of the better places to do so.

Visited the Xcel to watch The Cure in concert in June 2023. I prefer seeing concerts in much smaller venues like First Avenue or even The Palace. However, for such a large venue, it was still a good concert experience. It helped that we had floor seats, and that Robert Smith performed such an amazing show. However, it was a well-organized venue. No problem with entrance and security checks. Plenty of concession stands to get food or a drink. No lines at the restrooms. Only gripe is security at the concert were a bit annoying pestering people if they were even a few inches out of the row into the aisle.

A group of us came down for a few hockey games. The venue was clean, relatively easy to get around, and nice atmosphere. The staff were so great and kind, and good to chat with.
A suggestion is that if it is your first time and you want to explore the Hockey Lodge, go early before the store gets too full. It was quite a challenge to actually get in and look around.
While we understood that we are in an NHL rink, the prices are really getting out of hand for many of the food and drinks. Good bet is to eat and drink before hand to help save some money. Otherwise, have fun and spend what you want, which is what we ended up doing since this was our whole vacation plan.
All in all, fantastic venue and grub, great staff and fans.

I understand the more expensive pricing models at professional sports venues - but Xcel is out of control - this poor (no pun intended) person ahead of me ordered a double-shot vodka cocktail, after two thimbles of some off-brand vodka and the opportunity to tip the “bartender” several dollars in an almost forced manner - this pathetic cocktail totaled in at over $40 dollars - RIDICULOUS!!!!! Food is no longer impressive - eat before you go and stick to overpriced beer - it’s the least offensive beverage on the menu.

The Madonna concert was a s@#t show and does not reflect the arenas staff. Celebrate the money you lost for showing up late and not recognizing a sigle hit that was cut short. Not even vegas worthy! Glad
I saw the beastie boys open for you in in the 80's during your hay day when you were non conceited , breaking barriers and awesome best concert I ever saw in Pihilly.

We recently attended Eagles concert here. Parking was convenient, the staff was pleasant, concessions staff also, the food choices were varied. The ushers were paying attention.
Great venue, fantastic concert, wonderful night!

The X never disappoints. Perfect venue to watch hockey, good places to eat, memorabilia to purchase, it's just a great time, every time. In the past I've also seen concerts here and it's a great place for that as well. Love the X!

The concessions are terrible.
The customer service at the service counter is confusingly poor.
After telling me I was “good to go” after paying ~$35 for a pretzel a hot dog and two sodas.
Then while I was walking away they told me my transaction didn’t go through. When I attempted to “insert,” “swipe,” and “touch-to-pay” an additional 7 times, I finally asked if I could just pay cash. They said “No”
Then after the 8th “touch-to-pay” it went through.
I asked if my card had been charged 8 times, they couldn’t tell me and told me to “take it up with [my] bank.
My hot dog was ice cold when I took my first bite. I returned the ice cold meat product to the counter and told them I would never return to a concession stand at Excel Energy Center.
And I won’t.
Cold hotdogs, $13 pretzels with cold cheese. People who treat you like garbage.
The concession stand was called “Hockey Moms” and is not run by hockey moms… it is run by the same greedy concession company that runs every other counter in the facility,
Get it together!

They now say no purses or bags. How do you bring in feminine hygiene products with no purse?

I am coming for a GA show
At other venues people line up very early (like 9 a.m.) to get in line for entrance into the show
Where will people wait at Xcel Center if they are in line at 9 a.m. and waiting for doors top open at 6 p.m.?
Will there be somewhere inside to wait all day or will we be 'out in the cold'?=)
Also, any feedback about how high or low the stage is...we want RAIL view at this show.
Thanks!!

Every time I've gone we had to stand outside until the doors open.

when you are in the floor seats do you bave to be in that exact spot they put you in
Rédigé le 19 juillet 2019
You are supposed to be, yes. Note that at floor level most people end up standing and dancing in place at concerts so it can be difficult to see the stage because of taller people and if it’s country music - hats are worn blocking vision. I prefer the right or left balcony or raised levels close to the stage and don’t like floor level.

For a concert which is better section 116 row 4 or section 102 row 3?
Rédigé le 7 septembre 2018
It ultimately depends upon how the band/performer sets up their stage. We went to the Arcade Fire concert and they played facing in all four directions, changing between song sets. Depends upon what you want to be near and a bit of luck.

For the Justin Timberlake concert, would you recommend standing room only floor seats or club level seats??
Rédigé le 29 août 2018
Club level would be great but if you're looking to save ton the tickets, standing room. Wouldn't be bad either...

Is it worth it to pay for a nearby hotel (hotel is about $240 and parking costs additional $18)for convenience, or book in a hotel a bit further, drive in from said hotel (Woodbury area), and pay for parking? Is the high cost of nearby worth the convenience?
Rédigé le 24 août 2018
We stayed downtown a few years ago and we weren't impressed. Much better to stay a little further away. More reasonable, nicer hotels, better restaurants that aren't jam-packed with event-goers.
