I've visited Borith Lake twice before, and each time I come to Passu, I make it a point to visit this beautiful, small lake. Previously, the road leading to the lake was entirely off-road, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has now been upgraded to a smooth, carpeted road. This means that from Hussaini village, you can reach the lake in just 15 minutes.
Borith Lake has always been a tranquil and peaceful place, where you can enjoy the soothing sounds of birds and the stunning landscape of the surrounding mountains. In the spring, the lake becomes a haven for migratory birds, especially ducks, that travel from Eastern Europe.
There are a couple of hotels nearby, although I’ve never stayed in them. However, the option is available for those who wish to spend the night in this serene location.

Lake Barith is small, but is very striking with its deep green color, typical of many lakes in the area. You meet him on the road that you take to reach the path that leads to the Passu glacier. Despite being small, the lake is packed with people bathing or hiking with small boats.

Nice to do together with the hiker to PassuGlacier. You can easily go from the main road on foot or by vehicle. Nice to relax for a while. Better in the summer period, the facilities are closed in winter, but it is still worth going there.

Auf dem Weg zum Batura Gletscher wandert man durch eine stille Ebene mit vielen Aprikosenbäumen. Freundliche Menschen, die Früchte verschenken.

I was staying in Passu, Basically there is nothing much to do at the hotel. itching for some activities, we heard about a lake near Gulmit village. We got there by our own Honda CR- B. Our driver advised not to use our own car. There we saw the old 4 wheelers were lined up to take to the lake.
These are the locals, who make money by taking tourist to lake., These drivers will demanding 5000 rupees for less than 10 minutes ride for no more than 3 KM rocky road.. After some haggling 3000 agreed. When we got to the lake, we then realized it is nothing like lake. It is just a large pond, water is full of sulfur and other minerals oozing from the ground and that makes it smell and it is lifeless. Nothing lives in it. The price to take us there was too excessive . It should have been no more than 1500 rupees. Place is not worth the visit. These is nothing to see.

I fell in love with upper Hunza especially @borith lake resort . The owner Mr. Tawakal Khan became famous when he was featured in 'Humans of Newyork' by Brandon. This used to be a lodge for Mir of Hunza who used to hunt migratory birds. It's important to stay atleast 3 nights to appreciate the serenity of this place. The lake is at it's best in the morning, perfect for swimming on a sunny afternoon. The water is rather unusual, not exactly brine(saltwater) but high in sulphure, locals call it a soda lake.
This place is 15mins from @Yak Grill best burgers in Hunza & @ glacier breeze best views of Passu Cones and apricot cake.
15mins drive south of Borith lake resort you can go for Glacier trek
10 mins from Hussain suspension bridge
15mins from stunning village Gulmit which has a 700 old house, carpet shops, and best cafe for local food Bozlaj. And Ondra Poygah stairs(1600 stairs for the most spectacular views in HUNZA)
Chacha(Tawakal Khan) his sons who help him run this place, Sirtaj, Zahid made us feel like we're at home. Karimabad is beautiful but very touristy for our liking, I highly recommend this place if you want to stay away from the crowd.

Beautiful, remote little altitude lake in which you can swim during the summer. It's surrounded by dry mountains as well as white peaks and the water is grom the Passu glacier.
A great place to visit just for a swim, a tea with Humza bread of for a lo ger stay. There are camping options as well as hotel rooms options. I really enjoyed the place this summer!

A very peaceful place to stay to rest your mind.
The place is also good for Milky Way shooting before sunrise or after sunset.

This is a small lake in the greater Hunza area. Around it are a few small hotels where you can spend a night or two. The located is slightly of the KKH on the side and you have go on a narrow, dirt track to reach the lake. Saw some boats standing at one of the hotels. If you are passing by, good to stop here for 60 minutes or so, and have a meal by the lake.

This small lake is a wonderful bird watching location. I noticed a small camp at one end of the lake it might be worth checking out - just make sure their plumbing isn't going into the lake! The drive there is along a small dirt road with hairpin turns. There is a restaurant that makes for a good tea stop on the lake. They also have some rooms. The views of the mountains are limited from there but lovely. Driving up past the lake to the Passu glacier and walking along the edge of the glacier is a treat - it isn't often can you be so close to a glacier.
