Great experience. Will do it again. Like to thank all the guide for taking very good care of us. We were very nervous to slide down the water fall. Without the help of the guide we wouldn't have been to do it.

Did on our own. Got a taxi and our own guide. Amazing time! Lots of walking uphill. Not for someone with any mobility issues at all. So pretty and fun!

DAMAJAGUAS NATURE WALK & CULTURAL EXPERIENCE Thru NCL. This excursion was nothing like the description! We walked in water shoes over a very rocky muddy path and several creeks. The paths had trees, bushes & weeds alongside so it was no “beautiful nature walk”. The one water fall we came to was so small and you had to climb a straight up latter to get to the top. You could slide down the falls, but it was rocky! I saw people bouncing as they rode over the bumps in the rock! They said the “walk” to the falls was 10 minutes! I think it took us 26-30! Then the local marketplace they took us to was so small and overpriced. They did the local coffee tasting out of a cover tent! Then charged $10 for a very small container. They ran late. We had no extra time to shop before loading back on ship. Do not do this excursion!!

You MUST have closed-toe water shoes. It would be best to have something with support like Teva Closed Toe Hiking Sandal. If not, you have to rent closed tow water socks, which do not have support on the sole for the rocky terrain.
The hike up the hill is a little strenuous, but they frequently stop for breaks. I can see where the hike up the hill can be difficult in the rain, but there have been improvements along the path with stairs and boardwalks to make the journey less slippery.
The two water falls that you jump from are not too high but challenging for some. The slides are great, just keep your elbows tucked in.
It was a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone that is a bit adventurous.

This was one of my favorite excursions. Although a bit apprehensive about the initial hike, it wasn't a problem. I was glad I wore old sneakers rather than water shoes for the extra support. The time went by too quickly. Guides were very good. There were ladders for those who opted not to jump or go down stone slides. There was an additional charge for lockers which were essentially mandatory (no option to just leave a towel there). If you don't need glasses, leave them behind. I wasn't comfortable hiking without my glasses, so a guide took them when we went down the falls, returning them at the end. I had my cell phone in a waterproof pouch under my lifejacket. It was difficult to manipulate and many pics weren't great, but they're a nice reminder of the trip. Purchasing photos was expensive (in my opinion).

The hiking was more than anticipated. I highly recommend you wear your own quality water shoes. The $2 rental shoes were terribly uncomfortable with limited sizes. During the "dry season" we didn't see too many actual falls - were told there would be 7. Our guide was great at providing the best experience in current conditions. I didn't love the two additional stops to demo coffee, cocoa, and cigars, with pushy sales.

It is a hard dirty hike but well worth it. As soon as we got back from hike they yelled bus leaves in 5 minutes and we were all filthy. They need to work on ending.

This outstanding in every way. It is a very strenuous hike to get to the waterfalls but what an absolute blast. I can't recommend this with any higher recommendation. 6 stars out of 5.

We did this experience as a shore excursion while on a cruise. I did this with my wife and 3 boys ages 18, 18, and 19. This experience requires a short 40 to 45 minute hike to the first jump. Enjoy the hike, it is beautiful. Once you make it to your first jump, the real fun begins. We felt safe the whole time. To sum this experience up, my wife said this was the best excursion I ever booked, and she is scared of heights. A few jumps and a few slides, it was so much fun!!

Are ladders available at every fall? Don't want to have to jump or slide any of the falls

What do you wear on your feet. Initially thought water shoes but are they OK for the hiking portion
Rédigé le 16 juillet 2022
Yes, you can wear a GoPro

Is there an email to ask you all questions? I have a group of 7 and one of them is 5. Can everyone still come but wait nearby for us while being supervised by an adult (my wife)? I can take turns watching her. Like is there a swallow body of water near by to play and wait for others guests to accomplish the excursion?
Rédigé le 31 octobre 2019
No, unfortunately there isn't a "waiting area" along the route. Each fall has to be passed. Some are tamer than others but there's no way around them.

Are the rocks that you walk through slippery?
Rédigé le 29 août 2019
We didn’t find them slippery but definitely wear water shoes! I would recommend a sneaker type water shoe but if you have the less expensive ones get shoe inserts and put in as extra cushioning.
Rédigé le 30 août 2019
Yes, but they also have watershoe's for rent.

Do you have to jump of every waterfall or is there a way around all of them. I'm want to go with my family, however, I will not jump of any waterfalls and don't want to be forced to do so.

You have the opportunity to walk around on the higher jumps. Lovely day, very fun falls and excellent guides. Have fun. KP

We are thinking about doing this adventure during our upcoming vacation to Puerto Plata this December. Our son is 41/2 years old. Will it be ok to take him in this adventure? We have been wanting to do this waterfall adventure for a long time.

Hey June, I think that this attraction would be suiting for a 4 1/2 year old, especially if they will be older than 5 when you get there. It also depends on the child's swimming abilities. All participants are required to wear a life jacket and helmet and water shoes, so it is pretty safe.
