Very nice experience. We saw lots of koalas in their environment. Also some kangaroos and emus. A very nice visit that was absolutely worthwhile.
Helen, the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful.

Nice hot shower we had miles of space to ourselves, koalas in every tree, historical location and friendly hosts. Highly recommend checking out the water hole homestead and the old koala enclosure no longer in use.

Mikkira Station Reserve was a highlight of our visit to Port Lincoln. The station is on privately-owned property. The property is gated. Koalas are easy to spot in the abundant gum trees on the property. Caravan, motor home or tent camping is available with free parking. A must see/do.

The first day of the multi-day tour which I have booked with Explore Eyre we visited Mikkira Station. It is home to a colony of wild koalas that live in the manna gum trees. I have never seen so many Koalas in a short time and in the wild. The guide was very good and used to spot Koalas up in the trees and she knew where the favorite places are. We were lucky and could spot in total 19 Koalas. It was Amazing and unforgettable. It's also home of Kangaroos, Emus, sleepy lizards and other wildlife. It was definitely the highlight of the first day. Visiting is only possible by guided tours or with a permit.

Booked a day tour with Xplore Eyre, great tour btw. This included Mikkira Station to see the koalas. This is not a place that you can just go to yourself.
Being an Aussie this was no big deal for us but we were surprised and thrilled with this visit. Up close and even giving one koala a pat was a fantastic feeling to say the least. We spotted so many koalas living in the wild it was incredible. It was the higlight of our day tour!

As a birthday present myself and sister took my 87 years young mother
to search for the golden whistlers and other widlife. We all had a magic experience with koalas so easy to find and so close with many adorable babies. But the true magic was finding whistlers along a track to the giant yaccas. That trip will stick in our memories for years to come.
