Drove around for 30 min looking for caravan parking- there is none so we left. Town looked lovely and we wanted to have lunch and go to motor museum but clearly not an RV friendly town. Disappointing

There aren't many choices in Strathalbyn unless you want a Pub meal. We were tired of Pub meals so we were happy to find an Italian restaurant open. Both pasta meals were big! Both were full of flavour and superbly prepoared. The serves were so generous we took some back to our room and microwaved it the following night. Delicious!

I have visited this town many times in the past, with the last time being in 2018. I visited again for the 2023 Antique Fair and this town has completely lost its charm. What use to be a quaint, simple heritage town has turned into a mishmash of confused styles and utter bad design.
From the offensive contrasting pavement that clash with the heritage buildings, to the unkept weedy native grass gardens, this town now feels like every other generic Australian suburb.
Upon entering the town, instead of being greeted with beautiful large paddocks and hills filled with gum trees, you now get a first impression of uneven colourbond fencing, roofs. and backyards. The narrowing of the streets and street corners make it almost impossible to drive a motorhome around town and the lack of parking is laughable.
It's incredibly disappointing to see a town that is considered internationally as an antique and heritage destination become a complete waste of what could have been a special, unique destination.
Unfortunately, I will no longer be suggesting this place to others.
***WARNING to all: Driving a caravan or motorhome within the town is difficult with the narrowing of streets and street corners. I would avoid if possible.
*** The contrasting pavement on the footpath is wobbly and uneven, making it unsafe to walk on if you don't have strong footing or balance issues. Also, the small square stones used on the road are also uneven, observing a couple of elderly trip over these during the weekend. Hopefully these issues are addressed soon.

A very nice town - easy to walk around and plenty to see .
Cafes are great , there are a number of pubs to see , but the best bet for a good pub meal is the Bridge Hotel at Langhorne Creek which is only a short drive away .
Museums , artwork , memorials , a great park , a swimming pool , great little caravan park , there is plenty to see and do and places to stay for a short break .
Lovely town !

アデレードから車で1時間半くらいでしょうか、小さな可愛らしい街です。
街の中にはアンティークショップが並ぶ通りがあり、お値打ちな品を見つけることができます。

What a great town to visit. It is a gateway to the wine growing region area of Langhorne Creek and the associated coastline in the area. Lots of little shops and cafes, a wonderful park to picnic in, as well as regular markets on the weekend. All the local pubs are great, and High Street is full of small businesses and heritage. They say all roads lead to strath and that is true. Well worth a visit.

Great place to explore. Plenty of heritage listed buildings. Fantastic park in centre of town for a picnic. Dining alfresco nearby with excellent options. Antique shops galore to explore. Check out the new Motor museum as well as the heritage centre.

We visited Strathalbyn on a Wednesday and found it very quiet.
However we did find a few shops open mainly antique shops.
There was also a traditional sweet shop with sweets in jars and lollipops similar to what was around mid century in England.
We found the man in the shop very helpful and friendly.

This town is lovely. But......you have to be a certain type of tourist....or maybe in a certain frame of mind to visit. It is a sleepy little town. Just very quaint and charming and not really too much going on.

Sleepy town with not much happening. A few trendy gift shops and the Appleseed cafe great for coffee, cakes, breakfast or lunch, but give yourselves an hour here including lunch and it’s done.
Fantastic metal statue of a famous ‘ biker’ whose name escapes me, is fantastic .
Worth a visit if your going through this area.
