I finally made it to Jalori Pass. the last time I tried was unable to reach because of excess snow on the road. I was staying at Tandi and I drove to Jalori Pass. The journey of about 20 kms took about an hour.

Jalori Pass is a nice place connecting the Kullu valley with the Shimla Valley. The altitude is about 11000 feet. There are a couple of sights to go from Jalori. But the two most popular ones are a visit to Serolsar Lake (5 kms trek) and the 360 degrees point. I could only do the 360 degree point. The climb upto the point is a mildly steep. Since I went in late March, there was a lot of snow and that made the journey to the top a little tedious, But the views are amazing. Also, near the top I tried a zip line experience. It was exhilarating. On our way back to Tandi, we stopped at Jibhi falls, which is also worth a visit.

If you love to trek, there are multiple options available in Jalori pass. You will be mostly confused and start walking towards the lake as we did and most of the tourists will be doing.
There are three spots in Jalori pass, you can't do more than more as 2 are 5 plus hours and one steep uphill.
One is towards the lake, the second one is towards the fort (both 5 plus hours) , the third one is known as 360 degree view. 360 view is steep uphill, will take approx 45 minutes to go up and have a mesmerizing view. Mountains , green meadows and all shades of green.

Most of the tourists visit Jalori Pass to trek upto Serolsar Lake or Raghupur fort. Both treks take to and from around 4-5hrs from Jalori Pass. Instead of doing this trek which could be tiring for those who are not accustomed to walking much due to walking up and down the terrain we just went to the 360 degree view point which is uphill but only 30 minutes one way. This is the point which is shown in the movie YEH JAWANI HAIN DIWANI. For the trek we did a trek at Sainj valley to Pundrik rishi lake which takes half time than this and there was no other tourist at the time we did this with a guide. Jalorie pass is a tourist place. You will find as many vehicles parked here that you will not find in your entire trip.

Most of the tourists visit Jalori Pass to trek upto Serolsar Lake, which is great. Serolsar Lake is 5 KMs from Jalori Pass and involves an easy to moderate trek which will take you anything between 2-3 hours depending on your stamina. The motorable road to Jalori pass is very narrow and steep, driving here requires skills, to manoeuvre thru narrow winding roads coupled with steep ascends and descends. When we visited during April 2nd week, there was snow near the summit. And as we went up towards the Serolsar lake, the presence of snow increased. There is a "Mid Way" point on the track where you can see beautiful snow clad mountain ranges, do some photography there, and take a tea/snack break if you like, before resuming your trek. At the lake, we found snow in abundance, much more than we had thought of. It was an experience beyond words,
On the way back, it was afternoon and the snow along the trek had begun to melt, resulting in slippery mud all along the track. One need to move extra cautiously to not to slip and fall. The 5 KM up and 5 KM down track to and from Serolsar lake might be tiring, but the experience at the lake, especially if it is snow-clad, is many more times rewarding.

Must do.

Caution - crowded and filthy. Avoid the hot spots to enjoy the pass.

Narrow road access so do consider dangers of driving and time to reach.

I have visited this place May 2022. Trek is only 5 km distance for one way but it takes 3 hrs to reach to Serolsar lake but the path is steep with ups and downs. I don't think everybody can do this trek. Beautiful place with full of twist and turns. I would recommend if you are planning go early morning around 7 am & come back till 4 pm.

We reached jalori pass around 11 am. The weather is a few degrees lower here. We started our trek to serolsar lake. The trek takes a little over an hour one way and would label it as an easy to moderate level trek. The vistas along the way are simply beautiful. You get a full 360 view of the magnificent peaks and a few snow capped mountains. The route is scenic with tall deodhar trees lining the trail. The serolsar lake is located higher than the jalori pass and you can spend a few minutes sitting by the lake or eating at one of the small cafes which serve some delectable rajma chawal, momos, parathas and the local dish called siddhu.
The journey back to jalori pass takes you annother 1 hour and we were back to the pass where we caught our bus back to banjar
