visited here while on holiday in the area.I have a big interest in ww2 and middle wallop was a big airfiels there.To be honest most of the displays werent really my preference as they had alot of helicopters but a bit about the gliders that dropped troops on d day.There was a small section about the fighter squadrons that flew from there but i think it could have been better as i said it was a big airfield in ww2 had a coffee in the cafe dont think id visit again tho

The displays were very informative about people.
Would have liked a bit more depth on the aircraft.
Only let down was the cafe. It was very disorganised and lacked any semblance of management. Ran out of various foods including drinking chocolate. How do you run out of catering tins of cocoa?

Visited the museum today, it was great the staff were exceptional polite and helpful! But the best part was the Apache cafe! It was a very busy Saturday but the staff seemed to be coping very well! Smiley and friendly! A great array of lunches with reasonable prices, presented really well and clearly all freshly made food. Will definitely be back

I took my 2 year old who loves all things helicopters & planes! She walked miles looking at everything. Obviously we had to visit the ball pit as well. My only comment would be that lunch doesn’t start till 12. I totally understand that ( we had a sandwich which had just come out) lots of nurseries do lunch at 11.30ish a few other families came for lunch as well

Interesting place for a one off visit however take your own food. Both my wife and I had steak and something pasty. The overpriced, microwaved pasty had variable zones of heat, the pastry was soggy and elastic and the overall taste could be classed as ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. My advice stick to coffee and a packet of biscuits and find a nearby pub for luch before or after a visit

Fantastic day out for family with a 6 year old and 3 year old. ( but would keep any aged child interested ) Super collection, really well maintained. Informative, hands on, catered for all ages, even a 60 year old! So much to see and do. Well thought out displays, a trail to follow and eagles to search for kept the boys on task and occupied and when it was time to let off steam for the children we chanced upon an indoors soft play area that was immaculate. As it was during the summer holidays, the price included a live science display and free crafts. Also the restaurant offered fresh lunch deals with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a fantastic view of the airfield. Finally, a wooden outdoor play area ended a perfect day. Amazing value for money and the tickets last a year!

Great collection, very well laid out. Details excellent. Aside to flying and aviation I found the house of 1940 and as my mother was an evacuee at age 7 from London in 1939 to Cornwall. Spending the next 7 there with only 2 visits from her mum in that time particularly poignant….

Rather difficult to find especially if you are not local. The satnav signal in this area is poor and failed to recognise the postcode so with limited museum signage we almost gave up.
However so glad we persevered because the museum is great. Very friendly helpful staff, excellent displays and places to sit down. Clean and tidy site with good parking. Small shop with lots to interest all ages.

We went with two friends for the first time and had a really great time, learned a lot and certainly developed a healthy respect for those brave souls involved in the birth of army flying! A great day was tarnished by the following.
Two criticisms - 1. the cafe is poor. We ordered 2 types of pasties ,a vegan burger and an omelette. Only the chips were decent and edible. The pasties were microwaved within an inch of their lives and horrible. The burger was horrible and the omelette tasted of egg powder. At about £10 a head this is unacceptable (also no diet drinks in the fridge).
2. The post code given on the website takes you to the middle of Stockbridge, miles from the museum. We phoned and queried why we were lost and were told 'lots of people say that' .This is the army - sort it out please!!!

Reviewing on behalf of my dad and father in law who visited at the weekend. We enquired via Facebook message about booking a wheelchair and received a prompt and helpful reply from Hannah who let the reception staff know and everything was ready when they arrived. We really appreciated the swift and helpful response and they had a very enjoyable visit. My father in law rarely gets out and about and he will be talking and thinking about his visit for a very long time!

Yes, most of the exhibits are inside so it is a great destination for a rainy day. We also have free parking right outside.

Only guide dogs I am sorry to say. There is a picnic area where if one of you is not interested you could possibly take a dog on a lead. There is not much shade so a big NO to leaving a dog in your car. Museums and dogs don`t mix well.

Are there helicopter rides available for youngsters to experience. If so what is the fee.

No, no rides at Museum, all displays are static. You will see a few helicopters flying from the next door Army Air Corp base.
Helicopters are expensive to fly - I think some flying schools give experience flights but at a cost.
