First time to OKC MOA. Enjoyed the views even if CHIHULY glass exhibits were unavailable.
Paying for parking was a bit trepidatious but we figured it out. READ all instructions well. Add your time AFTER using credit card
Favorite exhibit: the man crawling thru a hedgerow in England, literally crawling through it. Creepy!
2 pics inside gift shop. Had to enjoy an artsy latte!

We were on a trip to Oklahoma City, and we're interested in doing something the day after Thanksgiving. We are always fans of art museums, and when I heard that this museum had a permanent Chihuly exhibit, I was in! The exhibit is fabulous, and I saw several pieces that I had never seen in person before. We had been in France during the summer, and had visited the Rodin museum, so seeing the pieces that this museum had of his work was exciting. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

This is a nice, small museum. The chihuly exhibit was really spectacular, although not terribly large. I enjoyed the Picasso print exhibit, which I think was temporary but very interesting. Overall, I give high marks to the collection and presentation and it is a pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

The Chihuly exhibition was beautifully laid out and the work in the entrance amazing. Picasso woodcuts also there when I was. Rest of collection smallish but nicely arranged and all in all a good hour spent

Was expecting more, but thoroughly enjoyed their vast Chihuly collection. Beautifully lit and displayed.
Disappointed there weren’t more important modern art pieces.

I knew I wanted to visit the OKC museum of art because it has the largest permanent installation of Chihuly and I have been a big fan of his work for a number of years now. I popped over and found out they also had a special exhibit for Edith Head's costuming too. I checked that out first, and recognized some of the movies and designs, but mostly it was a learning experience for me. I checked out the Picasso and Rodin and other works on the second floor next, which were nice, then headed down to the Chihuly exhibit. It was awesome! I got a lot of beautiful pictures and learned so much about his process too.

Though I did not love the exhibition that I came to the museum to see, I won't review the museum as a whole from on that specific opinion. Overall, it's a nice museum. It's not very large, easy to navigate, well laid out, galleries are lit nicely. Pretty cafe, rather large gift shop with many different kinds of items (not just items representing the museum and its exhibits but also from designers/retailers such as Johnathan Alder)
Overall, it's a good museum, I was simply disappointed I had come a long way to see an exhibit that personally left me kind of flat.

I’m a local and have a MOA membership and the Edith Head special exhibit is one of my all-time favorites. It took the staff about five years to put it together. The costumes are on loan from all over and have never been exhibited together before. The special wallpapers and fabric backdrops really add to the experience. My favorites were Audrey Hepburn’s ensemble from “Funny Face,” and Kim Novak’s dress from “Rear Window” (which she didn’t like but Hitchcock demanded. She later admitted it was perfect for the character. Thanks, Destiny for our tour full of these insights!). The museum is also displaying Picasso linocuts and a large Rodin, all on loan from private collectors. Chihuly’s mother was from OKC so the permanent collection is one of the best in the world, thanks to his friend, the founding director who oversaw the MOA’s design and construction, the late Carolyn Hill. We’re so proud of our MOA and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Drove north from Texas to see the Edith Head exhibit. Wonderful exhibit. The bonus was the Chihuly exhibit! We knew that has some pieces but no idea it is one of the largest. The museum store includes a bar with coffee, cocktails & food.

We went for the special Edith Head exhibition and it was fabulous. The dresses were amazing and the short films so interesting.
The Chihuley glass is a permanent exhibit and a wonderful opportunity to see the whole spectrum of his work

Do you rent the lobby/theatre areas for private events...particularly a 50th wedding anniversary party?
Rédigé le 23 mars 2018
Yes. It would make a wonderful venue depending on timing and parking. There is also some confusing construction downtown so timing is absolutely critical.

There are a couple real close by. I think the Sheraton, Renaissance, and the Skirvin are the closest. But I'm sure there are other options in Bricktown too.
