National trust, lovely place lots of lovely walks and scenery stunning. Lots to look at and history about the building around you. Really worth a visit. Has a carpark which is quite big. Worth a visit. About half mile walk there is a lovely cafe at Chapel Porth. Really worth a visit. Lovely place to have a picnic.

An absolute must while in Cornwall ! We enjoyed the colours and the amazing views while walking on top of the cliffs. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place to walk and explore. Paths not pushchair friendly. No facilities except a car park, which you pay for if not NT members.

Parked at the National Trust carpark at Wheal Coates (TR5 0NT) and took the 30-minute walk down the costal path to Wheal Coates Tin Mine.
It's just ruins now, but you get a real feel of what it was like when it was a working mine.
The walk down the coastal path was stunning through the fields of Heather with the sea crashing on the rocks below and fabulous views of the rocky cornish coast.
We were lucky to have a sunny day, but I can imagine it's just as stunning whatever the weather.
A dream for photographers (which I am clearly not).
And an added bonus...it's free!

There is a free car park for national trust members and once you walk a short distance from the car you will be rewarded with the enchanting ruins of the Wheal Coates tin Mine complex.
There is a considerable ruin and earthworks on the top of the cliff within 300 metres of the car park and then for the money shot only a few steps further the engine house on the cliff.
There really aren't enough superlatives to describe the view. The cornish coastline stretches into the distance in both directions and the romantic image of the old engine house makes you feel like your walking through a poldark novel.
Only a short walk is Chapel Porth Beach, where in the summer there is a lifeguarded beach and a small cafe for refreshments and of course you can continue east or west in either direction on the SW coast path.
For the hiker and explorer this is no doubt a 5/5

After finding the location of the Wheal Coates tin mine (our satnav couldn't find its exact location) we were pleased when the sun came out and lit-up the former mine. If this wasn't enough, this is a stunning but windswept piece of coastline. Well worth the visit.

A walk along St. Agnes Head is a very nice and very rewarding thing to do.
It's easy to access and pretty easy to walk. Only if you want to explore all the buildings at the Wheal Coates there are some steeper paths.
This was a tin mine, open 1802 until 1889. The Towanroath Shaft engine house is the most famous building here, as seen on countless pics. With the decline of the industry, the number of workers here became less. Until it was closed down. Now it's a UNESCO World Heritage site. And a beautiful and maybe also sad reminder of past times. It's set in a stunning scenery. Sitting on the cliffs of the Cornish Coast.
It's interesting to explore the buildings, learn about the history. Or just to take in the spectacular views. There were some visitors on that sunny weekday. But less than one might image.
A fantastic spot. Iconic and not to be missed when in the area.

As National Trust members the car park was free. We walked down to the tin mine and took some great photos. We returned later in our holiday for sunset and were rewarded by the sun setting just behind the mine for some more photos. Beautiful rugged scenery.

Hello. It's not far but very uneven surfaces and steep areas to descend / ascend. We are in our 30's and it takes 20 minutes to get to the first one from the road.
I wouldn't take anyone who were 'unsteady on feet'
You can still enjoy view from roadside x
