Lovely beach, varied routes to walk some of which have seasonal dog restrictions. Car park is ANPR and pay on exit. £2 for first 2 hours, max £7 for the day. Open toilets and an ice cream van but no other food/drink options when we visited

This place is beautiful.
Long stretches of sand, and extremely interesting buildings at the lighthouse peninsula. Across the sea is the backdrop of Snowdonia and the mountains. It is one of the most attractive beaches I have ever been to.
There are toilets at the barrier controlled car park but no food or drink outlets so bring your own and take it home!

Thoroughly enjoyed our walk from the car park out to the island (red route) ….easy walking …definitely do again next visit.

Stunning beach, we had been incredibly fortunate with the weather, see photos. Parking is easy, drive down few bumps, then there’s a large car park with toilets and a bonus feature BBQs and tables, my partner explained Oz have bbq all over like this, I’ve not seen myself before but great idea. Had around 3-4 of the BBQs and people where using the facilities lovely to see. When exiting the car park you just tap and go, queue as we arrived was massive as it had been a very hot day however still had people arriving and a fair amount of people on the beach. The beach itself is stunning, so long and beautifully clean with the trees as a back drop, I particularly liked the island which you can walk around when the tide is out only a little paddle if tide in, depending on how brave you feel. I would highly recommend this beach stunning, and very relaxing.

So disappointed - we have visited this beautiful beach, cottages and woodland for years but this was the first time we had been back for awhile. What has happened?
We cruised the car park looking for somewhere to park with no luck so left. Fortunately we did not have to pay £2 car park fee.
Since when does a fabulous natural environment need two fast food vans with the attending litter and smell. Can we no longer go anywhere without having to have food laid on.
Will not attempt to return with my grandchildren in the summer holidays as our experience was on a Saturday in April l dread to think what it would be like in July/August.

Out with nature on this wild weather day! Lots of parking spaces, a small cafe/outdoor catering van and toilets. Lots of walks through woodland or the beach. Very dog friendly

Wow!! What a find this was, we had ventured to find the Twr Mawr lighthouse on Llanddwyn Island, and hadn't realised you come through Newborough Forest to gain access to the beach, such beautiful surroundings, so drive through the reserve to the car park and then you see the forest of firs and the onto the beach, and can walk to the island with 2 lighthouses on and the old church ruins, just jaw dropping all of it. Toilets in the car park, 2pd to park for 2 hours then 40p for each additional 20mins, up to max 7pd, you could depend hours here.

Good (paid) parking, good route indication, something for everyone
Nice change through the forest, on the beach and then into the dunes with the lighthouse at the end
In between are the remains of an old church, which in earlier times had the largest parish, because of the pilgrims

Would give 0 star if I could. Don’t bother they won’t let you in. Twice we went on Saturday and we were not allowed to the car park because of parking issues.
I have 15 months old baby so I can not come to the beach for 7-9am as I have to feed a baby and 2 hours drive there. We arrive at 12pm and were asked to leave by parking marshals. They don’t care if you have small children. First time we managed to get in after 1.5hrs wait and overspill parking has half empty but they still wouldn’t let anyone in. Second time they just turn away all cars even that cars were coming out of the beach. They were extremely rude and threatened us with the police. So we won’t be coming back as it’s not worth it. Would not recommend

We visited this place in October but the weather was fair and sunny and the walk was unforgettable. The beach stones are many and unique. The beach leads to an ancient chapel and lighthouse. The water was arm enough to wade in and clear as well. One of the best beaches on Angelesey.

Hi, can someone please advise? What’s the easiest way to get to a good view point of Llandwyn island/ light house? I don’t need to get out on the island just want a stunning view of the island and beach. Also want an as easy as possible walk there as my elderly parents are coming with me.

It's not easy to get to the lighthouse as its on the end of the beach on a peninsula.
You can park very easily at the Newborough/Llandwyn Nature centre car park. There are also lovely walks around the forest area
There are toilets at the car park

Will access to the beach be improved?i was at the beach car park this week and there seemed to be only one way down onto it which was steep and the cliffs seemed a bit unstable.

as far as i know there is no new access,however we walked through forest from car park,and eventualy access is easier,lower sand dunes,we parked top of car park,looking to the beach end,there is a path to your left,the most wonderfull walk,and yes its quiet a way say 20 minute walk but yes easier access to beach,our dog loved this walk,as did we,

Past Marram Grass on your left and take the road to Newborough at the next roundabout. In Newborough centre there is a crossroad. Turn left westwards and just keep going. Need £4 to get in to car park☹️

Roads no problem around Newborough and Anglesy you wont find a duel carriageway once off the A55 but roads can become a bit clogged in the summer.The rd down to the beach is a single lane with £5 toll at the begining the only time there is a problem is when a car comes from the opposite direction but there are passing points.Dont let the roads put you off well worth a visit.

its not far from main car park to beach but if your older or limited mobility its tough,i am in my 70s,the walk through forest was ok,but the walk to beach steep,and I had to have help getting back up the slope to car park,
