The Nashville Farmers' Market, founded in the early 1800s, is located in the urban core of downtown Nashville adjacent to the Tennessee State Museum and Bicentennial Mall State Park. The year-round Market provides retail space to farmers, artisans and small businesses. Due to the season, only the indoor part of it was open during our visit. Entry and parking are free.

Was very. Say at lunchtime, but lots of vendors & lots of good places for food. Seating could be sparse, if possible get a seat ahead of food. Has a little something for everyone

Went with a seniors group through Collette tours. This was a lunch stop off between site seeing. A good idea. One building is all food vendors. All kinds of foods. Very reasonable prices. Good gift shops/hopefully all local made. The second building is a true farmers market with plants for sale, crafts, clothing, seeds, etc. Needs alittle more seating capacities. Good bathrooms. Abundant trash cans. Gets very crowded around meal time.

Arrived around 2:30pm on a Friday. Ghost town comes to mind. It looks like it has potential but few vendors and empty stands. The place seemed dirty and had a funky smell. We got some Boba Tea- one of the few vendors there. Departed pretty much immediately 😞

Great stop for local food stalls and Made In TN souvenir shop. I’d rather support this place than the cheesy tourist traps ANY DAY.

We came here on a very wet day in January quite early on in the day. There wasn't a lot going on outside and there are limited restaurants inside - at this time of year it doesn't seem to be a traditional farmer's market more like a small food court.

It was cold- so it wasn't crowded- this was a plus!! Not so many vendors but they were kind and friendly. We tried to visit all of them & we did buy a few things. We had coffees & Bubble tea which were very good! I bet it is a lively place when the weather is better.

Very nice outdoor/indoor market with lots of vendors
The inside court is food focused while outside spaces focus on local crafts
This space includes an greenhouse and garden supplies

It's difficult to review this venue because we came here just two weeks before Christmas while in Nashville to listen to Christmas music. It was not a very populous time of year to visit this area. The Farmer's Market was nearly deserted. The traverse down the hill from the capitol is kinda fun and that brings you right into the giant map of Tennessee imbedded in the ground. The Farmer's Market runs parallel to the Bicentennial Park on the west where the stone State of Tennessee ground map begins the park to the south. The Capitol Bicentennial Park is another topic, but it is quite large and filled with information outlining the first two hundred years of history of Tennessee. So it takes awhile to get all through it. Three hours wasn't enough and we ran out of light due to the short days of December. The Farmer's Market was getting near to closing when we walked in on a Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. As I approached the Market City BBQ the guy informed me that they closed at 4:00 p.m. and that he only had chicken and pork left. I ordered fast and ate in the central court area. She headed for the "The Picnic Tap" and got a heart-shaped gilled cheese sandwich which looked great. We followed that with some ice cream from "Jenni's Ice Creams." The food at all the places is very good and especially at Jenni's. After eating a quick stop in the Tennessee store and a couple others. The made in Tennessee store was pretty interesting although the swag was typical tourist quality stuff. The coffee shop was open as we were here until about 4:45 p.m. and headed back out to read more on the Bicentennial wall. We enjoyed our time here, however, it should be pointed out that there are not a lot of food options right near the park. If you are visiting this area, visiting this park, and want a view of the capitol, this is a great way to acclimate to Tennessee. The Farmer's Market is not a large space and quite often in the summer there are events in the park which may crowd it. Also, this is a stop on the Hop-On, Hop Off bus and we recommend taking the bus in order to have flexibility in your day and get the broad overview of the city's landmarks. You can easily spend an afternoon here and feel like you had a chance to learn about Tennessee, see the State Capitol, and have a place to eat and take breaks.

This was our first trip to Nashville. Took the trolley tour that goes all around the city. Hopped off at the farmers market. Lots of pretty permanent stands in the main building. Out back are the sheds where the farmers sell their wares. Unfortunately we were there on a Thursday so only a few were there. Great veggies and honey though!
