Wife and I stopped in. We love to travel the backroads and see sites. This is a small museum but it has a story to tell that everyone should hear. The Trail of Tears is heartbreaking and its hard to fathom just how evil some people could be. We appreciate the hospitality by the lady there and interesting stories too. You have to get off the interstates to see the true history.

We stopped in Pulaski to catch a glimps of a portion of the Trail of Tears. The overlook bridge overlooking a segment of the trail was scenic. However, the plaque giving the history of what where events occurred contained too many “possibly” and “perhaps” statements that we thought a historian should be retained to do more research on the trail in order to further reduce so many speculative statements.
The tribute next to the Stadium was nicely done but the “stuffed” doll next to the museum I felt to be offensive. It looked like something left over from Halloween. The museum was closed due to the apocalypse virus...or maybe because it was Sunday. Therefore I wasn’t able to ask the significance of this scarecrow display. The other statues on the grounds were artistically done. The church that was relocated to this site also doesn’t seem to “fit” the tribute site. Perhaps it ties into the history of this event but it’s plaque is more a history of the church and not the event. However, we were pleased to take notice that people today are able to discover early America’s real or true history. We hope those who are responsible for this display provide a more detailed explanation of this event to those who venture here.

Need to plan ahead and make sure someone will be on-site when you visit. We showed up on a whim and the building was closed. Outside, there are informative displays, some beautiful artsy mosaic benches, and a giant map showing some of the routes. Wander around behind the building to get to the breathtaking sculpture up by the road.

Kind of off the beaten path, but worth checking out. Just be sure to call ahead and make sure someone is there.

Lovely inside and out. Small but stacked with interesting info. The outside has artist designed benches, bronze statues, and trees dedicated to individuals.

This is a very small exhibit. But for those of us who sympathize with this tortuous journey our earlier forefathers forced onto the Native Americans, it is simply a reminder.

We followed this trail from Oklahoma into Georgia stopping in Pulaski.

The curator is a historian and knows his Native American history.

This was a very brief tour of an awesome and at the same awful journey.

Although the site features a bit of our shared US history that everyone would rather forget, it's a pretty place now, and tells the story of the suffering of American Indians as they were being forced to resettle west .
And while no one seems to "want" to study the suffering of anyone, I suppose that it's needful as a people and a nation we be reminded of the sufferings of our Native American brothers and sisters when our nation was in it's infancy. Not for the sake of placing blame any particular group of people ( which is needless and self defeating), but for the sake of learning and understanding.

Very humbling. Sad to see, but glad it's being honored and respected. History needs to be learned so we don't repeat it.
