This wine is spectacular. After living in Texas for 20+ years, only in the last two years or so have I discovered any drinkable wine made here. Comanche has a good winery, as do Brownwood and Fort Davis, but I think McPherson's may be the best in the state; it could definitely hold its own with California wines. Forget the Hill Country--Lubbock/West Texas is where the good Texas wine lives.

Lovely place for a date. We had a ball at the beautiful and cozy winery. Lubbock was my number 1 city to visit, but this place made it worthwhile. I'll definitely revisit

Stephanie was incredibly knowledgeable, and walked us through all sorts of wonderful wines. Would certainly recommend this tasting experience to anyone interested, it’s one of the best I’ve ever been to… and this isn’t my first rodeo!!

Surprised by the quality of the wines, but especially the whites. No idea you could produce such great whites in this climate. Met the owner, very nice, and informative. Place is a must see if your at all into wine.

Had a very good visit at this winery. The staff is very pleasant and gave our group good wine recommendations to try. They have a very nice outside patio that has great shade and fans to keep the air circulating. The inside is also very pleasant and has small tables to sit at as well as a few couches if you have larger parties that wish to sit as a group. They do serve food although we didn't eat there. I would have given 5 stars with the exception that each time we ordered we had to follow up with the server to complete our service! We ordered and paid, she indicated that she needed to go get more wine, and disappeared. Had another server come along and she poured our wine immediately! Then ordered bottles to go and the same server we ordered from had to be tracked down to give us the bottles even though we were sitting right in from of her. Never had that type of experience before with a server.

We love wine and enjoy new tasting experiences. We wanted to check out McPherson and could not have been more pleased with not only the quality of their wines, but with the knowledge and friendliness of their staff. From the minute that we walked in to the minute we left, our experience was on point. We have traveled to Napa several times in the past and it seems as if the whole Napa region is becoming too commercialized. At McPherson, they allow you to taste the wines and give you an unbelievable experience without the 75.00-100.00 price tag.
Next time we are in Lubbock, this will definitely be one of our stops.

We are in the wine industry and like to visit the competition. The wine here is great and reasonably priced and the service was excellent. The building is an old coke plant so that is an interesting addition to the experience. If you like wine it is a great place.

Really, really impressed. I have wanted to visit McPherson’s for a long time based on their reputation, and I was not disappointed.
The tasting room is medium small and fairly ordinary, but comfortable and very friendly. The location is easy to get to, assuming you are near Lubbock.

The wines are real deal. In particular their white portfolio, top to bottom, is the best I’ve ever seen in TX, and equal to all but the very best in CA. McPherson’s is known for focusing on varietals that grow well in TX - no Chardonnay here! - and it is really paying off. The rousanne in particular is beautiful. Their reds are nice too.

My only complaint is they are so far away. Maybe I’ll just have to find more reasons to go to Lubbock!

Five years on a wine trail road trip to Oregon we stopped in at McPherson’s Cellars. We enjoyed the hospitality and wine, on our road trip to North Dakota we decided to make another stop. Wines are still well blended and hospitality still first class.

During a short stay in Lubbock, my wife and I visited the McPherson Cellars Winery for a wine tasting. Tasted 6 different varieties and all were very good. Returned the next day with two of our adult daughters and tasted 4 additional wines. Once again very pleased. Very friendly staff at their facility on Texas Street in Lubbock. If ever in the Lubbock again, we will pay them another visit.
