I ordered 14lb longhorn wrapped in plastic and enough ice to keep 1/2lb cool,they say it's wrapped in cheese cloth then dipped in wax,they lied,I will never order from watonga again,all my cheese is coming from Wisconsin Cheese factory,it further away but get here faster to california,plus they don't lie,everyone try Wisconsin Cheese factory,it's better and faster,never again will I buy from watonga cheese factory,help me make them go out of business.

Dear Mr. Stevens, we are sorry that you were not happy with your order with us. We did receive your awful voicemail message on our business phone. Customer satisfaction is important to us and we have tried to call you several times to see if there was some way we could rectify the situation to your satisfaction but have been unsuccessful in reaching you nor have you returned our calls. We do not lie about our products. We have been in business since 1940 and that would not be possible if we lied about our products. The 14lb longhorn that you ordered is wrapped in cheese cloth, dipped in clear wax and then before we ship it, we vacuum seal it in a bag for extra protection and add cold packs to keep the product cool during shipment. Once you remove the protective bag, the wax and cheese cloth are there and we have hundreds of satisfied customers who have purchased this product that can attest to it. If you would like to return our calls, we would try and work something out with you to your satisfaction.

We went here because we heard the cheese curds were good. They had just finished a batch of fresh curds and they got us a bag of fresh ones. The squeaked better thank any curds I have ever had! The lady said they older they are the less they squeak. They also tasted great!
I would recommend Watonga Cheese and probably return if we are ever in the area.

They have the best tasting cheese curds!!!! They have different varieties, but I prefer the good ol’ cheddar. The service was great and they have a nice selection of cheese, pickles, honey and other local items.

We had a blast touring the factory. Owners are wonderful people. Had so many selections. Very neat and clean place. Was definitely worth the drive. Only missed trying the chocolate cheese. Loved our time there.

Having been raised and worked within Family Business - Food Importer/Distributor of Gourmet Cheese, I had a great experience stopping in at Watonga Cheese Factory while stopping through Perryton TX on Business. Brandi was more than hospitable in showing me around the factory on a small tour of their plant/process, which takes a very classic approach to cheese production. We had a great time relating stories, mine on the side of a cheese family from distribution side, hers from the dairy and cheese production side. Very fun stop, well worth the visit and happy to support a local business in rural America!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about your tour of our little cheese factory. We are so happy that your time with us was a positive experience as we really enjoyed spending the time with you and learning about your family's much bigger cheese operation. Stopped at the Watonga Cheese Factory while in Perryton few months ago. I had heard a lot of good things about it! The cheese is some of the best I've had! They have a great selection! After about thirty minutes of trying to decide what to buy the girl working gave a tour of the cheese making plant! It's always nice to know where your food comes from!

Who knew the Watonga Cheese Factory gave tours?!! It was incredible and the kids loved it. They explain everything from milking the cows to packaging it to sell. Afterwards, my 6 year old said “Mom, making cheese is hard work!” I love that he understands work ethic and specifically where food comes from (other than cows for beef like we raise). There is definitely more to it than I expected; it’s like watching an episode of How It’s Made. I would definitely recommend this to any family whether you’re from here or just passing through.

We are so glad you and the children in your group had a great time touring the Watonga Cheese Factory. Your group of kids were awesome! 😉🧀 The parents are doing an amazing job! These children were the politest, most respectful group of kids! I got tons of hugs and “thank you’s!!” They made us proud to be from our little community! ❤️ Please be sure to tell all your organizations, friends and family about our cheese products and tours. We want to show as many folks as possible what we do.

It is a lot of fun to tour the factory and watch how the cheese is turned from milk into cheese. Making cheese has just about become a lost art and the tours are very educational. The factory was originally opened in 1940. There are years of tradition behind how they make their cheese. The tour guide is one of the owners and is very knowledgeable about making cheese. He speaks clearly and is easy to understand as he explains and demonstrates each step in the cheese making process. Also, the cheese samples are delicious. I purchased the mild, cheddar cheese curds from here and they were the best I ever tasted. I would highly recommend this as a fun activity for anyone visiting Perryton, Texas.
