I live in this neighborhood and just loved this tour so much. The stops along the way confirmed what I love about this unique, diverse neighborhood. I found new hidden gems that I can bring my family to. If you are a local like me or from out of town, I highly recommend this food tour. Mashaav leads a delicious, informative food tour and is a positive influencer for SF’s Richmond District.

I've had the pleasure to go on Mashav Food Tour in Jan 20.
Honestly I did not know much about Inner Richmond and never thought it has too much to offer regarding food experiences. Mashav's tour completely changed that! On her tour we visited AMAZING family owned, small business. Each more unique than it's previous one, each from a different cuisine. on her tour we visited places i would otherwise never thought of going in to and everything was delicious!
As a vegetarian, Mashav was very accommodating and made sure I have a vegi option in every station!

We just got back from our trip to San Francisco and boy are we happy we booked our food tour with Mashav! We decided on booking with her due to her great reviews online and since we've wanted a tour with a local professional chef and not just anyone. From the get go we realized it's a perfect match when booking the tour and speaking with Mashav personally.
We started the tour at 11:00 AM with only coffee in our bellies and smiles all around. As foodies we've been to more than a few food tours in our day, yet from the beginning of the tour we realized that this tour is something special.
This tour was meant for kings and queens. It's built eloquently in a perfect tempo and generous portions of more than 10 stations!! (12 to be exact) and 16 tastings. That is unheard of! Not only that - but all the food was to die for! Perfection, one by one.
In the tour, we traveled far and wide to find the perfect treats through hidden international delis, colorful obscure markets and restaurants that we might have seen but never thought twice of. The combination of sit down restaurants, street food and delis along with moderate walking through the markets made the time fly by and we found ourselves full until a very late dinner (and we're hungry travelers).
My favorite delight was the herring on San Francisco's famous sour dough bread. It literally tasted like San Francisco - simple yet sophisticated. However my partner craved the most the Indian chips with sour cream we ate. But of course, they're just a landslide since we liked it all :)
All in all, it was perfect. Mashav not only guided us through the food stations but she also gave us a ton of information of San Francisco and how in it's core - it's multicultural. Just like the tour.

Chef Mashav prepared a surprise interactive birthday dinner for my wife and 10 of our close friends. It was a great experience and everyone had a fantastic time. The kitchen and dining room in her San Francisco apartment were nicely decorated and she and her staff were friendly and clearly enjoyed showing us how they prepared the meal and letting us participate. The dinner was delicious and no one wanted to leave. This is an experience that I highly recommend.

Mashav was an excellent tour guide and culinary resource for our food tour today through the Inner Richmond. She combined her enthusiasm, sense of history and her skills as a chef in providing our group with an educational, varied and provided delightful tastes of her favorite neighborhood. We went from market to restaurant and ate our way through this diverse neighborhood. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning more about different Asian cuisines and ingredients and getting to know this vibrant neighborhood.

After many visits to SF, I did not think I could be surprised by something as touristy as a food tour, but I couldn't be more wrong! The afternoon we spent on this tour was easily one of my trip's highlights, mostly thanks to the knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide - She made this whole experience seem like a voyage of culinary discoveries, and her passion for food and the stories behind was infatuating. I would definitely be back for more.

I've been to many food tours around the globe. Not a single one was similar to this one.
Firstly, the tour is done by a chef! trained in Paris!
This is not some tour guide that is paid to take people on tours with food..
This is a person passionate about food, and the locations chosen reflect that perfectly.
Without spoiling too much, this tour includes unusual locations like local shops that she uses to find unique ingredients for her dishes as a chef.
The tour just oozes charm..
For example, you can look away for one second and suddenly Mashav pulls a table out of nowhere and you have a small delightful taste of a unique dish in the middle of the street.
It seems like she is home at that neighborhood... and she is kind enough to show you her house as a valued guest or a close friend, all accompanied with a marvelous smile and a very sharp and witty intellect!
Go, you won't regret.

I’ve lived in the Inner Richmond for three years, and have my favourite spots in the neighbourhood, but I admit I haven’t explored as much as I should have. That’s why this tour was so great! It was so much fun to learn about new spots in the neighbourhood, and I’ve already revisited two of them. Mashav is a wonderful guide and is so knowledgeable both about the food and about the neighbourhood. Definitely try this if you want a delicious and interesting adventure!

I have lived in the city for several years and still learned and discovered new things through Mashav's food tour. The tour was very informative and the food was unique. I liked when we walked in the grocery stores and Mashav showed interesting ingredients and explained how to use them, and now I can't wait to buy them and explore them!
Mashav has a lot of knowledge and it was fun to go on her food tour!
