Went with a big group and the staff, Luis, Alex & Carlos were all wonderful to us. I’ve been probably 10 times and it is always amazing.

Ranking of tours in Pulahpanzak:

👉Tubbing: 5/10 - very slow
👉Kayaking: 3/10 - it's against the current ground dawn
👉Spring: 5/10 - There are a lot of people and it's only 1 hour, there is no sun so the pool doesn't look blue like in the photos.
👉Canopy: 7/10 - Excellent view, for the best photos or videos, there are only 8 cables
👉Caves under the waterfall: 9/10 - Just feeling the water of the waterfall is a unique experience that everyone should try.

The Staff is excellent and they are very kind, patient and careful with the elderly 👵👴

The restaurant almost only has an American menu, they do not sell soups. Better pay Lps 100 or $5 usd to get in your row and bring your food.
You can camp overnight for L240 or $10 usd.

Go on weekdays as there are fewer people and you can take better photos and videos.

I hope they add a horse ride. It would be great.

The tour begins the waterfall is not just a “pleasant hike” this is extreme and dangerous. You can literally drown!! Our guide were great. They were always right there with a hand to guide you through torrential downpour of the waterfall. Pounding on you so hard that you. Annoy breath. You are in water about 4 feet deep and you can not see where you are going. You are hugging the rock wall for dear life praying that the next step will be there and you will not be swept away.
This is definitely not for the faint of heart. I would consider this dangerous. ( the guides probably saved several lives in our group. ) this would not be allowed in the states for safety reasons.
When other reviews say “you cross a pool”. They really mean a raging river surrounded by rocks. But you can hold onto a cable to help Pull you to the other side.
You will get scraped and have a few bumps and maybe a few cuts when you are done.
I glad I did it, I’m glad we all survived. I’d never go it again!!!

Did a quick visit to see this waterfall system. there are plenty fo entertainment options around the waterfall for kids and families. You can also go swimming in a little lagoon created by the river ahead of the waterfall.

We only came to see the waterfall so were in and out within 45 minutes - so that is an option too. Walking distance is limited as it's near the parking lot. There are plenty of restrooms, food options (during weekends), etc...

ES un lugar muy agradable para ir con la familia y pasar el día. Queda a unos 90 minutos de San Pedro Sula y da un excelente ambiente con la naturaleza.

This was one of my favorite activities in Honduras. Park entry is about $6 US. There was no charge for parking.

Zip lining in front of the waterfall is about $15 and well worth the money. I also tipped the guides $5 each. It was beautiful. You zip over the river and back. Then in front of the waterfall and back. The view from the zipline cannot be had from anywhere else in the park. I took pics and video of the top of the falls, bottom of the falls, and turned to snap a pic of the river downstream.

After ziplining, I went on the cave tour behind and under the waterfall. It cost the same as the zipline tour. I was the ONLY one on the tour and it was fun!
You begin by walking down the path facing the falls until you reach a locked fence. The guide unlocks it and you pass through and climb down the wet rocky hill to the water below the falls.
Then you climb into caves and swim across a pool to climb along the rocks directly under the smaller waterfall. There are times when you cannot see at all and need to look down, breathing through your mouth, feeling your way along the rock face of the waterfall, holding on to a wire rope that is bolted into the rock. You climb up a ladder between two boulders and use the wire rope to climb up another boulder to a partially covered cave directly behind the waterfall. You ese through the water to the end of the cave, watching the waterfall pour down in front of you. Then you turn and head back the way you came, stopping on the rock cliff near the gate to jump into the river from a height of about 15 feet and then climb up again.

The tour wasn't very long, especially with only the two of us, but it was something I hadn't done before and it was well worth $15. I tipped my guide another $15 because it was a private tour, and everyone knows the guides don't get paid much. He took lots of pics with my camera (it kept closing from the force of the water hitting the screen, so I didn't get any pics of the best parts. I recommend bringing a GoPro if you have one).

If you don't partake in the extreme activities, it's still worth visiting. It's a large park with lots of picnic tables and a snack shack. It takes a while to drive there from Lake Yojoa - about 35 min. because the roads are narrow and have many potholes. The parking lot is a giant dirt lot, but I was able to park in the front because it wasn't very crowded, due to Covid.

The river is very shallow and I saw kids wading and playing in it, but it's not deep enough to swim in. There are bathroom buildings and many benches and picnic tables. There is also a hotel on site with cabins and a nice pool for hotel guests, though no one seemed to be monitoring who was in the pool. I changed out of my wet clothes in the nice bathroom by this pool.

I spent about 4.5 hours here and it was perfect. If I was traveling with a family, I would have spent the day here and had a picnic. It was a fun day and one of the highlights of my trip.

This is such an impressive waterfall. The guided tour is worth the visit. It’s not for the faint of heart. Especially the caves behind the falls. Not suitable for small children. Our guide took us into the falls and the caves. If you don’t wish to go that deep you can still get wonderful views of the falls.
It’s totally worth the trip if you can make it.

Overview: This is a huge waterfall and only 30 less vertical feet than Niagara falls! Worth a visit. They have an easy hiking trail to different vantage points of the falls. In theory you can hike behind the falls (closed) and zip line (closed). Would be 5/5 with these activities. They also have areas at the top of the falls where you can swim. It's a nice cool oasis. Cost to enter was 80 L ($3) per person.

Getting there: mochito (or other) buses that run to/from Peña Blanca will drop you off. There are 2 places you can drop off a rugged hiking place and a small village with moto taxi service. It's only 2 miles or so to hike in and the taxi was only 30 L ($1) if you want to ride.
