A must do! Fun cooking class in a gorgeous setting
oct. 2019
My husband and I had the most amazing time learning to cook authentic and delicious Italian food from Veronica and Margherita. The experience made us both want to move to Italy immediately - specifically, a Tuscan estate :)

I booked directly through their website (by email), and Margherita answered all of my questions promptly. The form I filled out from Margherita allowed me to request a dish to be made. My husband requested tiramisu, his favourite dessert.

In the early morning, my husband and I took the bus from Florence to Impruneta. It was an inexpensive and pleasant ride. Margherita picked us and three other people up at the town square by the bus stop. She then drove us to the estate, chatting all the while. She is so friendly and engaging.

The estate is beautiful but also functional. They make their own wine and olive oil on site, and grow lots of vegetables, fruits and herbs. The views of the Tuscan countryside are jawdropping. We could see the views from the comfortable kitchen of the main building, where we went for the cooking class. When we arrived, the warm and enthusiastic Veronica was preparing focaccia for us to snack on. She also had meats from All'Antico Vinao and coffee for us. Altogether, there were around 7 to 9 people in the class.

Veronica taught us how to make focaccia, pasta and tiramisu. We were thrilled that she had honoured my husband's request to learn to make tiramisu. The cooking lesson is a combination of hands-on combined with observing Veronica, and at times Margherita (who assisted but was not always in the class) and asking lots of questions. Veronica makes everything look effortless, and made us confident that we could replicate her dishes at home.

Veronica also cooked an additional chicken dish with peppers that was to die for. We then ate our three-course meal outside with an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside. We drank wine with our meal, and enjoyed each others' company. Veronica even poured as a little digestif! A delicious end to a fantastic meal and experience.

I highly recommend this cooking class, whether it be with your partner, friends or family. It's been almost one year and I still think about it - it will stay with you too.

A must!!
janv. 2020 • En famille
Our family loved every minute with Veronica and Margherita. We learnt how to make focaccia, farmers tomato sauce, artichokes & potatoes, tortellini and chocolate cake. The smells from the kitchen were devine and the food was perfect. The class was hands on, informative, fun & tasty all within a beautiful 17th century building. Margherita WhatsApp’d to arrange a meeting place/time that was easy to find and we then followed her to the estate. We enjoyed the fruits of our labour over red wine, great conversation with Veronica and Margherita and finished with espresso. The four of us agree that today was a highlight of our holiday and would love to return again.

Cooking class and scenery transform you to “Under the Tuscan Sun”
oct. 2019
Veronica and Margherita’s stunning La Quercia Estate and its down to earth cooking class was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Italy. The estate and its views are breathtaking, with more than 1,000 olive trees and a vineyard, along with fig, lemon and pomegranate trees. Both Veronica and Margherita are so warm and welcoming. In our daytime cooking class with Veronica we only had one other couple, so we had lots of opportunity for hands-on preparation. Veronica cooks with such love; she doesn’t just teach you how to make the recipes – she teaches you the “why” and how things work (such as handling yeast when making dough). Our cooking menu included rosemary focaccia, gnocchi with tomato sauce, cauliflower with onions, tomatoes and olives and a chocolate cake for dessert. When we finished cooking, we sat down and enjoyed an excellent meal al fresco on their patio overlooking the hills and valleys of Impruneta, and capped it off with Veronica’s homemade limoncello. Before we left, Margherita gave us a gift of a beautiful terra cotta bread warmer (Impruneta is famous for its terra cotta). This lovely momento will bring back many happy memories of our time with Veronica and Margherita and our cooking class at La Quercia Estate, and we can’t wait to replicate the recipes at home!

Incredible Experience

The place of La Quercia - the oak tree. This is such a special spot so rare in today's world. We loved spending time with Veronica and Margherita, listening to the history of this wonderful family and place. While learning to make delicious traditional Tuscan dishes, we soaked up Veronica's beautiful warmth and creative energy.

Intimate, engaging, and delicious!
We booked this cooking class on our honeymoon as part of our time in Florence. Margherita provided transportation to/from our hotel out to La Quercia, and was very easy to work with to get everything booked. She and her mother, Veronica are fantastic hostesses! They are both so kind, generous, and full of life.

Now to the good stuff... the beauty of this property is unparalleled. It is luxurious yet rustic and not at all pretentious. You can tell from the moment you arrive that M+V are very passionate about what they do: hospitality and cooking!

The cooking studio is in a charming old building and led by Veronica. The cooking lesson is very hands on and intimate. No detail is overlooked as the place settings are beautiful, there are plenty of historic touches all over the cooking studio, and the ingredients are fresh and premium quality (many coming from the estate directly!). Veronica is so passionate about not only cooking, but using it as a way to connect with people. We were so honored she shared some special stories with us throughout the evening.

On the menu: rosemary focaccia, gnocchi with estate tomato sauce, peas and pancetta, lemon scented meatballs and the best tiramisu I think I have ever had.

10/10 recommend this cooking experience!!! Don’t think twice about booking this. Relax, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the slow speed of life in Impruneta, and take it all in!!

Supreme people, relaxed ambience and very private stay
oct. 2019
Second time we come here this year, and it was as enjoyable as the first one. Verónica Clemente, the master chef and owner of the place made our stay enjoyable, and her daughter Margheritta always there for anything you need, even going for us at 11 pm when we got lost in the area!

Cooking experience with passionate and
My husband Mike and I booked a cooking class and this is one of the highlights of our trip to Florence. My best friend and her family took a class with Veronica years ago and she was highly recommended. The estate has beautiful views. They grow their own vegetables in the property. Veronica’s recipes are from her Nonna - and I felt the warm welcome once we arrived. The menu changes depending on what is fresh in the market. Our menu consisted of :
Grilled zucchini with soft Robiola cheese
Pumpkin Risotto
Salted Salmon
Baked/Roasted Potato with olive oil and lemon Crestini di Ricotta e Frutta

It was an intimate class - so you are able to experience and learn in a small group setting. I love that Veronica provides options of how to make a dish - “there’s 2 schools of thought.” She is very passionate about food/cooking, but more important - she’s very passionate about making her guests feel welcome, and a part of her family. Grazie Veronica and Margherita! Looking forward to coming back and taking another class with you or stay at the Cottage :).

An intimate and amazing experience - MUST DO!
oct. 2019
I cannot speak highly enough of this cooking experience. From the moment you arrive at La Quercia, you know it is going to be something truly special. Margherita and Veronica have the most warm and special hearts - and they show this through every moment of your experience at their home.

We were greeted with a tour of the beautiful estate, accompanied with the incredible family history and stories - making you truly understand how special it is - overlooking the most beautiful views of Tuscany. We had coffee and croissants while we discussed with Veronica the menu for the day: Focaccia, Tagliatteli with Ragu, and Tiramisu - all which we would learn to cook with annecdotes from Veronica about Italian love and patience in the kitchen.

Overall, the most incredible part of the experience was the love and passion that is put into each moment. It is clear that the cooking studio is organized, and intentional - but each moment feels like it is the first time you're hearing it from Veronica's lips. She has a way of making these connections with each of the members of the class (we had 8 adults in our group) and everyone was able to be included and interact in the class. I truly cannot speak enough of the intentional and special feeling you get from learning from Veronica and watching her master the kitchen. All while looking out the window to see the most beautiful views - you should go ahead and book now - you will not regret it.

Thank you Veronica and Margherita for the most wonderful day in your home - I truly hope to return some day.

Get a taste of Tuscan Cooking!
sept. 2019
This class teaches a variety of Tuscan cooking and Italian living. I learned how to make bruschetta, pasta, sauces, chicken dishes and dessert. Veronica changes the menu based on the season because she cares deeply about getting the the freshest and best ingredients for the class. At the end you eat everything you just cooked while enjoying a beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside. Also you drink wine and coffee the whole time!!

This class was on the pricier side but totally worth it. I didn't see such variety of dishes you cook in any other class. Also, Veronica makes sure to get the best ingredients for your meal. I'll never forget the beautiful Tuscan Hills and the tasty meals we had. After this class I plan on cooking pasta with our family. I plan to take what I learned in both cooking and Italian living and put that into my family's meals and life.
