We arrived in September of 2019. We felt like we were visiting family. The welcome was warm and familiar. We wondered the grounds as we listened to stories of the property and family. Margherita was kind and patient and shared with everyone her talent. The food prepared was inviting and delicious. The weather and views, as we sat outside, were beyond our dreams. Eat, Pray, Love, I get it! Amazing experiences like this are a gift to the soul.

This was an absolutely rich experience for me and my family. To watch the process of cooking things from scratch to hearing the love of the food, culture and life in general was eye opening. Highly recommend.

This experience far exceeded our expectations. It was a highlight of our trip! We loved the hands-on cooking class. Margherita and her mother were both so welcoming. They were passionate about the food/land and most of all fun. The setting was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend 100%. 10/10. Loved it!!

Hands down, the best experience in Italy!! Two of my friends joined me for a cooking class in the Tuscan hills - it was worth every penny! I consider myself to be a knowledgable cook, and I learned SO much! I came home with my recipes and have been cooking Italian exclusively all week long! The villa itself is breathtaking. We all agreed that on our next visit, we want to rent the villa for the week. Margherita and Victoria were excellent hosts and teachers. This experience exceeded every expectation I had about a cooking class in Tuscany...and they were set pretty high! This is an absolute MUST on anyone's Tuscan vacation!

Spending a day at La Querica is a beautiful experience and not to be missed! Margherita, who runs the cooking school alongside her mother, picked us up from our nearby hotel. On arrival, she gave us a brief tour of the estate. Next, we met the other participants in the class (all of whom were pleasant and interesting). It's a small group experience of about 8 or 10 total people, which feels just right. While Veronica gives an overview of the menu, the class enjoys homemade cake and coffee. Then, the cooking begins!
This is definitely a class for foodies. You don't need to come in with any skill level, but it is by no means a beginner's menu. The dishes we made included focaccia, a frittata with artichokes, a salad of fresh fava beans/mint/local cheese, a green salad with vinaigrette, pasta rolled an cut into many shapes, a fresh tomato sauce, and flourless chocolate cake topped with local strawberries. We made the first few dishes and then enjoyed them in the cooking studio with wine, then made the rest of the dishes and enjoyed them on the patio with more wine.
Veronica is an excellent, highly skilled cook and very patient instructor, and it is lovely to watch her interact with her sweet daughter (especially since we were there with our daughter). Nothing is hurried, and it is a very relaxing and interesting day. We were so full by the end of the class that we skipped dinner that night.
Don't hesitate to book a class at La Quercia. Though we enjoyed our hotel in Impruneta, this was so much fun that we are even contemplating a future stay at La Quercia, which is part cooking studio/part hotel. They can also arrange private dinners with a tailor-made menu, which look very appealing, and can book tastings at local wineries -- all of which would be worth doing.
Just book it - it's great!

My husband and I had the most amazing time learning to cook authentic and delicious Italian food from Veronica and Margherita. The experience made us both want to move to Italy immediately - specifically, a Tuscan estate :)
I booked directly through their website (by email), and Margherita answered all of my questions promptly. The form I filled out from Margherita allowed me to request a dish to be made. My husband requested tiramisu, his favourite dessert.
In the early morning, my husband and I took the bus from Florence to Impruneta. It was an inexpensive and pleasant ride. Margherita picked us and three other people up at the town square by the bus stop. She then drove us to the estate, chatting all the while. She is so friendly and engaging.
The estate is beautiful but also functional. They make their own wine and olive oil on site, and grow lots of vegetables, fruits and herbs. The views of the Tuscan countryside are jawdropping. We could see the views from the comfortable kitchen of the main building, where we went for the cooking class. When we arrived, the warm and enthusiastic Veronica was preparing focaccia for us to snack on. She also had meats from All'Antico Vinao and coffee for us. Altogether, there were around 7 to 9 people in the class.
Veronica taught us how to make focaccia, pasta and tiramisu. We were thrilled that she had honoured my husband's request to learn to make tiramisu. The cooking lesson is a combination of hands-on combined with observing Veronica, and at times Margherita (who assisted but was not always in the class) and asking lots of questions. Veronica makes everything look effortless, and made us confident that we could replicate her dishes at home.
Veronica also cooked an additional chicken dish with peppers that was to die for. We then ate our three-course meal outside with an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside. We drank wine with our meal, and enjoyed each others' company. Veronica even poured as a little digestif! A delicious end to a fantastic meal and experience.
I highly recommend this cooking class, whether it be with your partner, friends or family. It's been almost one year and I still think about it - it will stay with you too.

Our family loved every minute with Veronica and Margherita. We learnt how to make focaccia, farmers tomato sauce, artichokes & potatoes, tortellini and chocolate cake. The smells from the kitchen were devine and the food was perfect. The class was hands on, informative, fun & tasty all within a beautiful 17th century building. Margherita WhatsApp’d to arrange a meeting place/time that was easy to find and we then followed her to the estate. We enjoyed the fruits of our labour over red wine, great conversation with Veronica and Margherita and finished with espresso. The four of us agree that today was a highlight of our holiday and would love to return again.

Veronica and Margherita’s stunning La Quercia Estate and its down to earth cooking class was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Italy. The estate and its views are breathtaking, with more than 1,000 olive trees and a vineyard, along with fig, lemon and pomegranate trees. Both Veronica and Margherita are so warm and welcoming. In our daytime cooking class with Veronica we only had one other couple, so we had lots of opportunity for hands-on preparation. Veronica cooks with such love; she doesn’t just teach you how to make the recipes – she teaches you the “why” and how things work (such as handling yeast when making dough). Our cooking menu included rosemary focaccia, gnocchi with tomato sauce, cauliflower with onions, tomatoes and olives and a chocolate cake for dessert. When we finished cooking, we sat down and enjoyed an excellent meal al fresco on their patio overlooking the hills and valleys of Impruneta, and capped it off with Veronica’s homemade limoncello. Before we left, Margherita gave us a gift of a beautiful terra cotta bread warmer (Impruneta is famous for its terra cotta). This lovely momento will bring back many happy memories of our time with Veronica and Margherita and our cooking class at La Quercia Estate, and we can’t wait to replicate the recipes at home!

The place of La Quercia - the oak tree. This is such a special spot so rare in today's world. We loved spending time with Veronica and Margherita, listening to the history of this wonderful family and place. While learning to make delicious traditional Tuscan dishes, we soaked up Veronica's beautiful warmth and creative energy.

We booked this cooking class on our honeymoon as part of our time in Florence. Margherita provided transportation to/from our hotel out to La Quercia, and was very easy to work with to get everything booked. She and her mother, Veronica are fantastic hostesses! They are both so kind, generous, and full of life.
Now to the good stuff... the beauty of this property is unparalleled. It is luxurious yet rustic and not at all pretentious. You can tell from the moment you arrive that M+V are very passionate about what they do: hospitality and cooking!
The cooking studio is in a charming old building and led by Veronica. The cooking lesson is very hands on and intimate. No detail is overlooked as the place settings are beautiful, there are plenty of historic touches all over the cooking studio, and the ingredients are fresh and premium quality (many coming from the estate directly!). Veronica is so passionate about not only cooking, but using it as a way to connect with people. We were so honored she shared some special stories with us throughout the evening.
On the menu: rosemary focaccia, gnocchi with estate tomato sauce, peas and pancetta, lemon scented meatballs and the best tiramisu I think I have ever had.
10/10 recommend this cooking experience!!! Don’t think twice about booking this. Relax, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the slow speed of life in Impruneta, and take it all in!!
