I've just driven back from visiting here with my daughter today. We're both avid lovers of books so thought we would give this place a try. It's situated just outside Bedworth. If you put the post code into your sat nav it will take you to a training complex just down the road. If you drive past the training centre for about 100 yards you will see the entrance to the book barn on your right, but it is slightly obscured and the entrance is more akin to driving down a farm track.

There is a large car park and at one end there is a building stacked with old books you can pick up for 50p each. Inside the main building is a much larger space with books of different genres. There is also a separate children's section upstairs. For those with a genuine interest in literate in all its forms there is something for everyone. But for me, being a bit of a Tudor history person, there was little to satisfy my taste. All the books are of great value and you can collect your wares and pay be the entrance.

Spent an enjoyable couple of hours with a friend here. We used the SatNav then the website directions which were very clear. Parking wasn't an issue but I imagine during the summer it may be harder.
Staff were incredibly friendly and were able to locate a book I had missed and then looked at a pile of books yet to go out on the shelves where I was able to find a couple more bargains.

I will definitely be returning and we had a lovely hot drink and snack too.

A lovely treat of a day out for any book worm. A huge selection of second hand books from every genre and topic you could wish for, it’s easy to loose track of time looking at all they have available. Quirky little signs and posters make the whole building fascinating and fun to explore, and I want to go back in wonder to get a sofa seat in front of the log burner!
The coffee shop offers tasty meals and snacks with very generous portions, and if the weather is nice there’s a wonderful garden to sit out in - I’d even recommend going for the cafe even if you weren’t interested in the books! I’ve visited here a couple of times and already can’t wait to go back.

Cafe business only. Cold food, cold drinks, overpriced cakes/tea cakes, cramped main floor space and disappointing. The Yurt is cold. It has no ambience. Set up in there is really strange.

They have large tables, maybe for parties? All were occupied by couples, at either end. which in effect, reduced the possibility of more people using the yurt. It was a cold day. No heat, cold coffee, cold tea, what else is there to talk about? The place used to be a destination in itself. The prices were high before the current ‘downturn’. Heaven knows what they are now.

Really disappointed. Some of the books were beautiful, but a lot of sections really lacking in choice.
The only gluten free option on the cafe menu was cream of mushroom soup which I don’t like, so I was left hungry. I travelled 30 miles in hope of lunch and a lovely afternoon, but there wasn’t even a quiet spot to read a book.
For me personally, Scarthin Books in Derbyshire offers more selection in both books and the cafe is more accommodating. I would rather travel further to there.

Four of us went to the book farm today. The outdoor and tent area are lovely, staff were also nice. I was a bit disappointed with the quality book selection for the younger children although there was a wide selection for adults. We spent £25 on books and £29 on toasties, cake and hot and cold drinks while we were there. I always take my daughters lunch with us as she has allergies and usually my own. I was a very put out that I was told we could not eat some of our own food despite purchasing most of our food (mains and deserts) from the cafe. The lady was nice enough when she told us but I think staff need to get things in perspective! We could’ve eaten a full picnic in the car but would not then have spent the £29 in the cafe. I’m pretty sure we won’t be going back!

I visited this morning with my sister, two 3 year olds and two babies.
We were looking forward to our visit and I chatted with my son about it on our 30 minute journey to get there.
The place itself is set in beautiful country side and the buildings are cute and quirky.
My sister when ahead with the children and I followed a few moments later with the pram.
Despite struggling to hold the door open while trying to get the pram through, the lady behind the counter continued to sit looking at her phone. As I entered I wasn’t greeted with a smile or a hello but an expression on her face which led me to think maybe this isn’t a place for young children.

Firstly, we had a drink in the cafe. An over priced satisfactory tasting cappuccino (£3.85)

Next, we walked through quietly and up the stairs to the children’s section.
We were disappointed to find just one board book and probably a handful of books appropriate for 3 year olds.

There was a cute table with 4/5 little stools that were the perfect size for the boys, yet not much choice of books for them to look at.

Overall a disappointing visit. Will not be making the trip again and won’t be recommending.
We’ll stick with our local library which is a lot more welcoming of children. my sister and I both felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff and other visitors.

So disappointed in the cafe. I have been visiting for a long time and absolutely loved the fab sandwiches and toasties on offer. Today I visited with a friend to find the menu has been changed drastically with very few items on offer especially veggie options. As much as I love browsing the books the cafe was always the draw to this place but with the rubbish menu available now I will not be returning any time soon.

Called in during a cycle trip in the area which we have done several times in the past! Whilst the gardens continue to create an attractive environment, the cake chosen and customer service seemed to have taken a downturn.

Nearly £15 for 1 x tea, 1 x milkshake and 2 x cream scones - no clotted cream, just squirty team from a can normally served with specialty drinks!

Certainly won’t be rushing back - hoping it was a one off experience. No table service on offer (despite tables being numbered) even when the gardens were relatively quiet!

I really enjoyed my visit yesterday. Even though there were many visitors on the day the cafe staff did a fantastic job in providing us with great food and service under trying conditions. The staff were very friendly and organised and it must be difficult to deal with so many customers after being shut down due to covid restrictions.

I also love the extensive range of books on offer and managed to buy some books that I really wanted.

The garden area is also beautiful especially with the introduction of a Yurt which is beautifully set out.

Overall an excellent afternoon out. A well deserved 5/5 from me.
