Lovely experience - what a view we all took ponies and went up - the peak had rolling mountains and meadows - the kids just rolled down the mountain - had a great great time! Also one of the few mountains with no horse poop! And the Maggi was to die for - some people we paragliding too!

No infrastructure, very undeveloped. The view is not the best of the himalayas. there are no good restaurants. Highly over rated. Visit if only you have the extra time.

the road to aru valley itself is ab fab, surrounded by tall mountains and lidder river jogs down from glaciers. aru is a small village but good # of people miss visiting the actual valley on left side which is fenced and think the village alone is the valley. so one needs to trek a bit on left side where fencing ends and visit the aru park which is totally pristine with no habitation. view is spell bound with meadows, surrounded by alpine trees and on all sides by mountains. one can also opt for 1 day treks like lidderwat trek, gagar pathri trek, nufran valley trek or slightly tough green top trek (going in a horse is better for green top). there are many YouTube videos showing these treks and you can choose the one that best suits you and to your liking. river side walk from start to the bridge is good too.

If you ask me about a valley of heaven on earth, I'd say Pahalgam. This place has my heart. We had little time on our hands and stayed a night at Aru Valley and visited Betaab Valley and Chandanwadi during the day. For the people who are in a hurry to visit these spots, I'd recommend leaving Chandanwadi out to spend more time at Aru Valley. Even while visiting during summer, pack enough warm clothes. And be prepared to leave a part of you here.

Views were amazing!
The local cab drivers are terribly rash drivers.
The area is overcrowded, filled with hawkers.
There is trash everywhere!! Very sad that this beautiful area has no garbage control

1. Perfect place for couples to spend some wholesome time amidst lush green meadows & and glacier meltdown.
2. Peace, serenity, soulful experience.
3. Lovely vies & instagrammable picturesque point

Among the 3 (ABC) Points, this is on an opposite direction, and takes extra time to reach here.
It can be avoided ( You would be seeing similar valleys in Sonamarg). The route to the valley is scenic, and place is quite Kashmirish - but nothing that is a must see. Would recommend to cover Betaab valley if you have to choose one.

Aru Valley is a little distance away; we recommend you begin early & visit it the first thing. When we visited, its approach road was bad. We hoped it better be worth the trouble & it was.
Aru Valley was surrounded by high green mountains on all sides, offering a panoramic view that took our breaths away. The calm & serenity was more than welcome. On a bright day, you can spend hours here.
It was raining when we visited but the beauty was not diminished.

The winding roads from Pahalgam to Aru valley had a number of picturesque views. The viewpoints provide amazing sights and the Sindh river flowing on the side is a sight to see.

Aru valley is a part of the ABC sightseeing in Pahalgam. Green meadows . Can see snowy mountains from there but apart from that there is not much to do and see there.
Can be missed if short of time

Will be reaching pahalgham at 2 PM on 3rd April from Srinagar. Will be staying there for one night only as part of package. So please suggest which places in can cover with in that time of 2pm till evening.
Rédigé le 21 janvier 2019
2 pm till evening is very less time. Go to Aru and spend good amount of time there. Walk through the valley rather than hiring a pony. The valley is very beautiful. I would not suggest going to Betaab. It is a waste of time and money. Totally not worth it.
Hope this helps.
Happy travels :)
Cheers!
