Byli jsme ubytováni v soukromí, příjemná kamínková pláž, chodili jsme do restaurací, jinak jsme si vařili sami, blízko byl obchůdek s potravinami, pozorovali jsme letadla, klidné místo. Autem jsme jezdili do Trogiru, krásné historické město. Jedinou nevýhodou neustálé fronty aut z ostrova a zpět.

Cudowna wyspa , dzięki nowo otwartemu mostowi , dojazd z lotniska zajął nam zaledwie niecałe 20 minut . Atmosfera cudowna , trochę swojska . Okrug Gornij , bardziej łumny , ja osobiście wolę bardziej naturalne okolice Slatine . Z tej strony w sezonie kilka małych restauracji i pubów . Prom do Trogiru i Splitu za parę groszy . Samochodem do Trogiru dojazd zajumuje dosłownie kilka minut ......

We stayed on Ciovo for 5 days in May 2015. Unfortunately we were out of season and many places were closed and there did not seem to be any excursions available.
The ferry to Trogir was not working that early in the season so we relied on the bus. The walk would take about 45 mins and there is little shade from the sun. There are no pavements and cars pass close. We took to holding our bag at about arms length and swinging it whenever cars passed. They definitely gave us more space when they saw it.
Buses to Trogir
If you can get hold of a timetable, that would be very useful. We collected one from the campsite about half way to Trogir. They are also on display at the bus station. Trogir bus station is on the mainland (Ciovo Island -- Trogir Island-- Mainland) so you need to walk back over the bridge to get to Trogir. The bus also stops (heading from Trogir to Okrug Gornji):
• Over the bridge onto Ciovo, turn right and it stops on the next corner where the road turns left.
• Near the campsite
• Beach stop (opposite the old church along the long front)
• Near the school up the hill (the bus stop to Trogir is a large shelter with a row of blue seats. Coming back the bus passes this and turns right, stopping just after the junction
Buses are infrequent – there is one mid morning , but more around coming home time.
If you’re going further afield – we caught the bus to Šibenik – buy your ticket on the bus. It is possible to buy them from the office, but it will only work for one operator (and there is no guarantee which bus will arrive first!) AND they will charge you extra.
Scooter
The best way to see the island is on a scooter. We had great fun – my first ever time on the back! Our hotel owner arranged for it to come to the hotel (Villa Katarina) which was very convenient. Rates vary, but the 24hr rate included petrol, while the 12 hr rate didn’t. You will need driving licence and a deposit (I think ours was 50euros). Read the conditions – it is definitely NOT comprehensive insurance! Some of the side roads are quite poor condition, so be prepared to turn back!
Old monastery
We really struggled with this. We found one on the south coast of the island called: Gospe od Prizidnice. We were told there was another near Slatine and asked numerous people but in the end we decided that they must be the same one. You get to it from the road that goes through Slatine. It was closed when we went – you have to do the last part of the trip on foot- but it is very picturesque on the cliffs.
Beaches
The main beach of Okrug Gornji was long and white and was being topped up with huge piles of grit while we were there. The stones are sharp – not pebbles – and you will really need beach shoes. The front is interspersed every few metres with eating places, but only a few were open while we were there. There is no shade on the beach unless you pay for a sunlounger or parasol.
There is a much smaller beach which was quite close to our hotel – down a short slope. Again the stones were sharp, but there was at least a tree here with a reasonable spread of shade – a beautiful spot to relax for the evening.
Traffic
We didn’t experience the traffic chaos that results later in the season. There is a new bridge planned to be opened next year (2016) which will relieve much of the traffic through Trogir Island. I’m sure the locals will be as relieved as the tourists.
Boat to Split
We caught the boat to Split – it takes about 75 mins but can be quite rough, so be prepared. It’s a lovely way to arrive though and the boat lands on the front - very close to tourist information and the old town. Split is VERY worth seeing.

Zaletą mniejsza ilość turystów i łatwy dostęp do sklepów pierwszej potrzeby. Z wyspy są malownicze widoki.

Piękna wyspa zawieszona między Trogirem i Splitem. Dojazd zapewniają mosty. Wyspa do zwiedzania pieszo i samochodem .

We have now officially spent our 8 day holiday traped in the worst gridlock on the face of the planet.
Beaches are nothing special compared to the overall coast line of Croatia.
All be advised pleces you can reach in Trogir by foot are stinking of sewer and the ones you can reach by car are available if you dont mind traveling 4 kilometers 1 kilometer per hour.
Good luck to those who dare.

Hi any tips on places to go in slatine croatia. Going there in August. Any tips would be grateful.
