Sugarloaf- every trail is a fairway and the lift systems always break. Got yelled at for not having my face covering on in line(outside)... you pay over $100 to stand in a line...only ski midweek to avoid that...during covid all ski mountains have been short staffed due to mandates from the big corporations that own them. Tragically sugarloaf has some of the longest runs in the east... with no base to summit lift to enjoy them. Killington, jay peak, cannon, or wildcat are better places IMO

We stopped here on our drive from Skowhegan to Lewiston, a pleasant drive from the woods to hay and corn farmland. Seeing 4,237 Sugarloaf Mountain with its steep runs, multiple lifts and 350,000+ skier visits a year, I understand its reputation as the East's top skiing spot, competing with Killington in Vermont. Its active even now with diners, hikers and bikers.

This review is specific to my experience trying to sno-go at Sugarloaf. I'm a competitive athlete/ instructor on the sno-go, and I was very excited to come see what Sugarloaf had to offer in terms of terrain and difficulty.

Despite being a premiere partner with snogo, they arbitrarily limit the lifts you're allowed to use to only beginner terrain, and half of those lifts are closed mid week. It's like going to Disneyland and only being allowed to ride the hotel escalator because the staff aren't familiar with the shoes you're wearing. Keep in mind that all mountain access is granted to skiers and snowboarders, just not the snogo. Despite advertising it as an option. And being a Boyne resort. And being a snogo premiere partner.

The lazy answer I got when I tried to find out why they weren't allowing me on the lift was "conditions". When I tried to speak to guest services about it, they just repeated the same information with no explanation.

If these things had been adequately explained on their website I wouldn't have had to waste an entire day driving up, setting up my equipment, checking in to a hotel and getting on to the snow only to find out I wasn't actually allowed to do anything. Only reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 is because of my albeit brief interaction with hotel/lift staff who were very friendly and tried to help, but in the end got shut down by management.

tl:dr This is not a snogo friendly resort despite pretending to be one. If you plan to start riding a snogo/ are experienced and want a lot of terrain, go to Sunday River.

Got scammed by Boyne Associates , corporate owners of Sugarloaf Mountain Resort. Paid for tix via Working Advantage during COVID last spring and they would not honor them this spring. Boyne got my money, hundreds of $$$ and refused to provide tix this March. Scammed. Too bad. Doubt this would have happened under old ownership. BUYER BEWARE. I cant begin to tell you how disappointed I was with the ticket sales office.

We checked-in last evening and were disappointed to find that our Internet did not work. And, despite assistance from a sweet tech person who came to our condo, we still have no WiFi access nearly 24 hours after checking-in. They gave us a $100 credit for this evening but they offered no alternative for WiFi access. This is just the main issue. This doesn’t even touch upon the antiquated decor of the condo we are in as part of the Snowbrook condo community.

This is the best ski mountain in maine. I’ve been going here since I was 3 and it’s great! I will continue to go.

We used to love Sugar loaf until 1 year ago. Please be very very careful! Sugar Loaf does not adequately post signage on trails/ chair lifts that are dangerous due to icy conditions. My son and husband were stuck on a trail due to the lack of signage and the trail was not passable. My 11 year old son broke his C4 vertebra (neck) due to a fall on the trail. He is all okay now. At the same time my son suffered his fall, two other boys (not with us) fell and suffered injuries. My husband who is an experienced skier also suffered a major concussion and shoulder injury on the same hill. It was a big mess!! There was no reason the trail should have been open. The ski patrol was amazing and saved my son's life. Thank you. My only wish is they had better signage! I hope they can improve this because it is very dangerous. Stay safe and beware of ice.

I enjoyed the view, peaceful area, unplugging from city life. Big jacuzzi was appreciated since many amenities were closed. Rules due to COVID-19 were in place. Love the gym equipments. Only three people were allowed. Very safe. Picked a place to jump into the river with falls. Rented a bike and had fun.

On a Friday not thinking it would be too busy had lunch
Took 15 minutes to get a server over.
Bloody Marie’s were excellent
Chicken wings good cooked through but could have been crisped up better
Chili had to be sent back to get hot was not even warm even though cheese had a good melt
When it came back again it was still only barely warm
By that time we just left.
Server never checked to see how things were.
Again in the past this has been the best food on the mtn
