As a first visit to coffee making derived from animal " droppings", it turned out to be an interesting discovery. The process involved is rather clean, hence the coffee taste is quite good. And expensive too.

This trip to Bandung we were on a coffee hunt. We initially wanted to arrange a visit to a coffee farm in Pengalengan. But being Lebaran time, they were closed.
Found this place by chance - there was a friendly enough guide who gave some introduction to some kopi luwak basics. There was a cat behind a glass enclosure, and one roaming around that could be briefly stroked.
I suppose because we came around Lebaran / Aidilfitri, the place was quite dead and there was no coffee procressing or roasting being carried out.
The tour was done in 15 mins and we had an obligatory cup of Luwak coffee (out of sachet) at Rp50,000. This cup had quite an interesting taste, however to be honest Luwak was never quite my thing,so we didn't purchase anything else.
There's no entrance fee to this place. But the usual parking fee to the parking attendant applies.

We stop by here for a while and having our lunch. And see the coffee process from the ‘i dont know the name of animal maybe luwak’ i forgot haha. So the coffee made from that animal poop. After see the process how it became coffee, we test it and the taste is good, really really good because i am the coffee lover too. But when i see the price per box quite expensive almost can pay our transport tour per day. Bot many pictures i get here just that animal so friendly with their expensive poop haha. Very unique. Their poop can make a lot money.

Upon arrival, we have been briefed that the Luwak Project was a government pilot project to harvest Luwak coffee.

We have managed to take photo of the Luwak animal and tasted the coffee. It was selling at IDR50k per cup. It tasted authentic.

If you are interested in the popular Kopi Luwak, you can visit this place after Tangkuban Perahu. We came here after Sari Ater Hot Spring as it is the same route to Kampung Daun Restaurant. About 23mins drive from Sari Ater. But do take note that we came during Ramadan month and hence traffic was smooth. We were the only group in this place.

There is a 15mins guided tour on the Kopi Luwak production. After that, you can have a cup of coffee. Kopi Luwak Original cost 50K per cup. We spent an hour here before we left for Kampung Daun restaurant for late lunch.

You can buy the coffee at 500K for 20 sachets or 300K for 10 sachets. They also have beauty scrub at 200K for each bottle@35gram. We bought both coffee and scrub.

If you want to know how Kopi Luwak is produced, visit this facility. Very educational - one of those places you must visit when in Bandung.

This is a pilot project to cultivate and harvest civet cat poo coffee beans in a humane environment. We were given a tour by an engaging and knowledgeable guide. The civet cats looked healthy, happy and well-fed. What was enlightening was the fact that the animals were fed controlled amounts of the coffee beans and followed a strict diet. I recall a different scenario in Bali where there was one sickly looking cat who was probably overdosed on caffeine.
Given the laborious and lengthy process to harvest the beans, it is no wonder the prices are high in comparison. The taste is rich and flavourful, well worth what you pay.

Being looking for coffee luwak and our guide recommended this place. Nice ambience, there's a few coffee plants at the entrance and saw the coffee bean. The staff are friendly and very informative. The staff explained and answers to my doubts about how the coffee being process and how they taking care and feeding the civets.
During the explaination session, my husband and my son were able to carry the baby civet. That's their favourite session. My son has being longing to cuddle the civet. He walked around the areas few times and never get bored, while we having a cup of coffee luwak.
Coffee luwak Brown was delicious, it's my favourite plus the coffee luwak lulur(scrub). The price are reasonable and we purchased a few boxes of coffee luwak and lulur. Highly recommended to this place and will recommended to our friends. Thanks to our guide for bringing us to this place and the staff that do the explanation. Excellent service and delicious coffee luwak.
