The Mangla Gauri temple is among the eighteen maha shaktipeeth, it is believed that a part of the body of Sati fell here according to mythology. It is an ancient temple, located on a small hillock, couple of stairs to be climbed. Mangalagauri is worshiped as the Goddess of benevolence. The temple complex was clean and also houses temples of Maa Kali, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva. We visited the temple on a Sunday morning and stood in the ordinary line. Though the que was not big, but it was moving too slow. Later we booked VIP pass @ Rs. 250 for early darshan. The main temple is not very big, too many devotees were trying to enter the main temple for puja and darshan at a time, creating some difficulties for others, crowd management by the temple committee may ceto rtainly be improved. The approach road to the temple was narrow and dusty. Overall, a blissful visit and darshan of Mata Mangala Gouri.

Great temple for Ma Durga. Ancient buildings give an auspicious atmosphere. Pictures n Statutes of various gods provide refuge for various occasions

Part of the hallowed Ashta dasa Shakthi peethams , Maa 's lotus feet can be worshipped here , the sanctum is atop a small hillock . The sanctum emanates a divine aura all around . Truly divine place .

One of the must visit temple for people visiting Gaya.One may stand on que for temple Darshan. It's good to visit in the morning time of the day.

Mangla Gauri is one of the shakti peeth Situated on hill at Gaya. Very nice place to visit, place is very narrow. One time 2-3 people able to enter inside temple. If you have car then use back entrance of temple.

Mangala Gauri temple is one of the 18 Maha Sakthi Peet temples. The shrine is dedicated to Sati Devi and representing the body parts - this temple for breast. The temple main sanctum is quite small and only 10-12 members can make way inside. We had a very good dharshan in around 20 minutes.

One woukd visit this place only for praying. Nothing for a tourist. I was in Gaya for work and visited in my freetime. Was worth it for i like visiting all kinds of places.

ABSOLUTELY. There are several trains and flights available to Gaya depending on from where you are planning on visiting. You should plan on being at Gaya early in the morning preferably no later than 8 or 9 am to avoid last minute rush. You need to factor at least two hours to settle down, shower, change, find your pundit and fix the price. The Pind Daan that is performed at 3 sites at Gaya – Phalgu River, Vishnu Pad Temple and Akshay Vat tree, and takes about 2 hours. The entire process can be completed in one day and you will be free by early or late afternoon. In order to give yourself some extra time just in case they are delays etc., plan on heading back home from Gaya in the evening the same day.
Most visitors to Gaya arrive early morning by 6 or 7 am and complete the ceremony by 12 noon. After lunch they visit Bodh Gaya which is about 30 minutes away from Gaya, spend a few hours at Bodh Gaya and then start their return journey either from Bodh Gaya or after heading back to Gaya.
The one-day Pind Daan ceremony at the 3 holy places explained above is the most popular and frequently performed ritual. Some choose to perform 3-days, 5-days or even 15-days rituals. Also depending on the nature of the death (such as murder, accidental, etc.) a fourth place may need to be added to the 3 spots mentioned above. The 4-spot ritual can also be performed in one-day.
We took the Rajdhani train from Delhi to Gaya – Left Delhi in the evening the previous day and arrived at the crack of dawn at Gaya. Finished our rituals at Gaya and head back to Delhi by taking the Rajdhani train from Gaya the same night and arrived in Delhi the next day morning. The train was very comfortable and the timing back and forth from Delhi were also convenient.
The essence of Pind Daan is making small balls of flour and offering them in the name of the deceased souls. I believe the flour is rice flour and it is mixed with a bunch of other traditional items such as sandalwood powder, honey, grass, etc. The pundit (known as “pandas”) will arrange all pooja items which include the basic camphor, ghee, essence sticks, flowers, sweet, etc. The ingredients themselves are not too expensive. Based on your budget additional donation items may be added and arranged by the Pundit such as clothes for donation, brass utensils, etc. You can perform Pind Daan at your budget starting as low as INR 25 or up to INR 5000 or more. At BSS people with budgets as small as INR 25 are grouped so that the Pundit can perform the ceremony for 20+ people together. As your budget increases the group size decreases and you can get more attention from the Pundit. If you get a Pundit dedicated to you the total budget including all ingredients and donation, etc. can range from INR 2,500 to INR 5,000.
The Pind Daan at Gaya needs to be performed at 3 holy spots and in the following order – Phalgu River, Vishnu Pad Temple, and the Akshay Vat Tree. At each spot you sit on the floor facing South and the Pundit facing you. You make the Pind balls and perform the pooja on the floor as directed by the Pundit. At Phalgu River you make the balls and perform the pooja on the banks of the river, the nearby temple complex, or the river bed itself and then carry the Pind balls into the river and immerse the Pind balls in the river. At Vishnu Pad temple you make the balls and perform the pooja in the temple complex (patio and steps) and then carry the Pind balls into the temple and offer it at the feet of Lord Vishnu. At Vishnu Pad you make the Pind balls and perform the pooja at the huge complex around the tree and then carry and offer the Pind balls at the designated spots by the tree. At each location the process takes about 30 minutes. The entire pooja across the three spots takes about 2 hours but during the busy Pitr Paksh period can take about 3 hours due to the large numbers of devotees.
Please note: While Phalgu River and Vishnu Pad Temple are next to each other, the real Akshay Vat tree is about 20 minutes away by auto or cycle rickshaw through the busy and narrow streets of Gaya. During the busy Pitr Paksh period the pundits will try to avoid going to the real Akshay Vat and will fool you into believing that the large Peeple Tree next to the Vishnu Pad Temple is Akshay Vat. In fact surprisingly they also have a sign calling this tree Akshay Vat. While most Vishnu Temples have Peeple Trees in the complex that are worshipped by devotees, this is not the real Akshay Vat. Our pundit also tried to pull this trick on us and when we insisted he admitted that pundits play this game as they lose 40 minutes going back and forth to the real Akshay Vat complex. They justify this deception since all Peeple Trees particularly the one that grows in the Vishnu Pad temple complex is huge and considered equally holy. The real Akshay Vat complex that is no more than 20 minutes away with traffic is huge and has a well-built complex around it.

Not too far from the parking lot. However, you need to climb stairs. I didn't see nor notice any alternative route to the top.
