Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that you had that problem.
However, I think this review is for another place. We're not a hotel. We offer Spanish courses in our family home.
We do not have safe lockers in our house and we don't have an office.
In any case, you're welcome to learn Spanish with us next time you visit this area.

My experience with Fernando and his family was everything I could have hoped for. A fantastic way of learning Spanish, experiencing the Spanish way of life while having a holiday- lots of things to do locally and in Santander. The caves at Puente Viesgo are amazing!

Fernando and Merche offer the perfect experience for anyone wishing to learn Spanish. As they provide an immersive family experience, complemented by fantastic tutoring in a stunning location.
The whole family do everything they can to make you feel welcome and they are extremely patient whilst you learn.
Each week day I received lessons from Fernando, following a well structured course, tailored to my ability. Then after a tasty lunch prepared by Merche I was free to study or
explore the beautiful countryside surrounding the house.
I would highly recommend this experience and I hope to return in future.

We had a week's refresher course with Fernando. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions and practise speaking. We explored the local area every afternoon before we returned for a fantastic evening meal with the family and other students. Thank you to Merche for her fabulous cooking. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and we enjoyed mixing with the other students. We would love to go again. Nos lo pasamos bien!

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Such a lovely family and set in such a beautiful location. I thorough enjoyed my lessons which were catered to my needs and gave me a great insight into Spanish life. The afternoons were spent exploring the local area which really is beautiful. I feel I need to go every year as not only was it a great learning experience but also very relaxing.

Fernando & Mercedes are superb hosts in this beautiful part of Spain. The school is well equipped for learning and you start as soon as you arrive! Fernando is a fantastic, experienced teacher and you will have plenty of opportunities to practice with him, Merce, their two girls Raquel and Victoria as well as the neighbours! Merce’s cooking is very tasty indeed and gives you another opportunity to practice your Spanish around the dinner table. The area is a paradise for cycling, hiking, birdwatching or exploring the historic caves of Puente Viesgo. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending The Spanish Course to anyone who wants to learn, improve or just practice their Spanish in a quiet but fascinating part of Spain. 10/10

My 13 year old daughter and I have just completed a week's course with Fernando and Merche. We enjoyed it thoroughly and benefitted greatly from their excellent teaching methodologies and by staying in their most welcoming happy home. They are wonderfully hospitable people with two gorgeous daughters, who also taught us mucho Spanish!They were most generous with their time, taking us to Santillana del Mar and the beautiful seaside town of Comillas.
We learned how to cook Spanish tortilla and enjoyed Merche's tasty homecooked meals each day, learning so much about Spanish life from sitting around the table chatting at meal times and meeting their friends and family.
Their traditional Spanish home is in a beautiful area, with lovely walks and a fantastic cycle path, that stretches for 30km or more. We walked into Puente Viesgo often and enjoyed sitting at the cafe overlooking the tranquil gardens at the Grand Hotel. We also trekked up to El Castillo caves and took in the beautiful views of the town and valley.
We would highly recommend Merche and Fernando's Spanish course and hope to return ourselves in the future.

Really enjoyed my weekend with Fernando and his family. My Spanish improved even for the short weekend. I hope to return once I get the free time.

What a wonderful week - lively well organised tuition - all explained with such clarity - Fernando was most encouraging - his enthusiasm for language infectious - my understanding of the language increased greatly - now feel more in tune with the Spanish language and more confident speaking it - also broadened my knowledge of Spanish history, culture, cuisine and everyday life - time passed too quickly - Fernando and Mercedes very welcoming and helpful - a great experience living with such a lovely Spanish family - a pleasure sharing lunch and evening meals with the family and fellow students - all set in such a peaceful rural area - a joy waking up to the sound of cow bells - good to have time to explore the local area, the Cave El Castillo, Romanesque Colegiata de Santa Cruz Castañeda and Comillas including Capricho, the amazing house designed by Gaudí - the whole package was a great experience and local bars! - can’t wait to return!

The course I attended was aimed at those who had some exposure to Spanish (through evening classes) but had struggled to use the language confidently. This was not an immersion course in Spanish but was an immersion in the every life of a wonderful Spanish family.
Fernando and Merche and their two lively children were our hosts. A typical day starts with breakfast at 9 followed by tuition from 10 until lunch at about 2. Lunch is the main meal and Merche provides excellent and varied dishes through the week. The afternoon provides an opportunity to go out and speak Spanish or to walk in the local area. Comillas and Santander are short drives away. Dinner is taken with the family – in our case in a mixture of English and Spanish. We took one evening out to sample tapas in town. Accommodation is en-suite and comfortable. Some rooms have 4 or 5 beds so be specific about single occupancy if needed. You won’t be asked to share with strangers however! The whole feel is homely and relaxed. Normal life is all around you!
Tuition is lively and very well structured. Fernando has a graphical approach to explaining points of grammar and cleared up all the issues we had been struggling with. Merche also teaches on some courses.
To sum up: Fantastic family, excellent tuition, great location. Perfecto!!
