Style de l'hôtel moitié vieillot, moitié moderne. Salle de bain séparée (et commune) un peu vieillotte (peu de support pour suspendre linge), chambre OK (lit assez neuf), déjeuner OK, sans plus. Mixed Feelings
We stayed here on our last night in Italy. We had an early flight or at least wanted to get an early start to the day so we did not stay for breakfast. We pretty much used this B and B just for sleeping. We tried twice to check in. Once early in the morning around 11am but there was no answer to the phones and the gate was locked. We decided instead to hang out in Como for a few hours and then try again. You definitely have to drive to Como. It would be a long walk and the roads are windy! We went back around 3pm to check in again and were greeted by a nice non-English speaking woman. She showed us our room and asked for the payment. There was some confusion with this and the owner actually was not on site. But eventually we talked with Christie (very nice) and got it straightened out (it was only a matter of not having change). The room itself was OK. I agree with previous reviews that it lacks a little B and B feel and was not nearly as nice as our previous nights stay. Too much concrete and mildew smell. But the VIEW was amazing. Can't be beat. They need to add a shower curtain or something. We attempted to use the shower but abandoned the idea because it was making too much of a mess. The sun deck is nice and expansive. If it wasn't raining it would have been lovely! Good for views and a night's sleep…

Web Site is misleading
The web site is misleading. The property is old (not nice old) and the facilities are not up to scratch. The web site shows a cupboard that is not their, does not have wine glasses and you would have to be hard up to cook off the grill they advertise. You need a car here to stay, it's very difficult to get around on the hilly narrow streets by foot. The thing that upset us most is their claim to "access to one of the real few beaches in Como within walking distance, but beware this is just wrong. It's mountain goat country and Como is about 10 Klm away. I don't know what local beach they mean, but this is misleading. On the upside the place was clean and cheap. Also their bank deducted Euro 34K from our deposit and they insisted we had to pay this amount. Don't send any deposit unless you note that any deductions are from their account.…

Despite the truly stunning setting with uninterupted views across Lake Como, and the huge bedroom with large private terrace, we just couldn't love this place. Perhaps it was the modern concrete (slightly damp?) building, which lacked the charm of the Italian villa we had stayed in the night before. Or perhaps it was the location much further from Como than we had expected (approx 10 km). But we felt better the next morning after a wonderful breakfast on the terrace (cooked by the neighbour - the B&B owners had gone on holiday!). This B&B didn't live up to our expectations, but would be good value for a family of four who wouldn't mind sharing a room and are looking for plenty of living space.
