Stayed on business, staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I found the rooms competitively priced. Lots of charm and character. Stayed for a couple of nights food was amazing you really can tell its fresh home cooked and that they take pride in the quality of what they serve. I noticed a great local feel to the pub. I would highly reccomend staying here for business or pleasure.
After being in a horrific crash on the M5 I found myself stranded in Gloucester. After trying the big chain hotels and them all being full I found the Linden tree. As soon as I walked in I was met by Kaz who quickly found me a room and calmed down. I couldn't be more thank full for how lovely and welcoming and supportive they were. Thank you!
Visited Gloucester docks and took a walk to this pub as we'd passed it on the way and we were looking for accommodation for future visits to the city. It is in a really rough area and don't think I would park my car there as I saw cars on bricks etc around the back. Went in for a drink and was served by a oldish bloke who came across as v grumpy who never said hi or thank you the 2 times we went to the bar. The pub itself is a nice traditional pub but we just felt unwelcome. Whilst there a couple came in with their dog and another dog that was roaming about (a smallish black one) took an instant dislike and I actually thought I was going to witness a dog fight!! I found out that the black dog belonged to the pub. There were drunk people sat at the bar and after our 2nd drink just didn't feel comfortable. so after taking our empty glasses to the bar we left (barman just stared and again no thanks!) Overall not a pleasant experience. There is a Travel inn and Premier inn right on docks just down the road and would definitely stay there as secure parking and closer to more pubs and restaurants.…
