This place reminds me of the typical Filipino grandparents' home in the province. Aside from the transient houses, there are quaint cottages and lots of plants in the resort. I enjoyed the peace and quiet by the swingset. The swimming pool is clean and the water comes from a spring in the mountains, according to the resort owners. It's very rural and literally tucked away from the hubbub of the city. The resort is around 30-40 minutes away from the trail to Mother Falls and around 5 minutes away from Sabang Beach and the town proper. The transient house duplex (good for 20 pax) we stayed in was fully air-conditioned. The breeze was really cool when you open the windows. Each side of the duplex had one bathroom and one balcony each. The first half had 1 twin-sized bed with a pullout bed, 1 queen-sized bed and 1 single bed. There's a small cable TV, 2 sofa chairs, and a quaint wooden table with 4 chairs in the balcony. I think we have around 5 electric outlets here. The second half of the duplex has 2 rooms; a small room with 1 queen-sized bed and a bigger room with a bunk bed and 2 queen-sized beds. There is a kitchen in a separate hallway leading to the bathroom. The balcony here is spacious with a dining area, a fridge, a videoke machine for rent, and a couple of couches with coffee tables. I think each room here including the balcony have 2 outlets each. PROS: The staff are accommodating and friendly. They even have a tour guide you can pay for the day. It's a great place to stay for a big group. They have a videoke machine for rent. We had the front area all to ourselves. The owners are very quick and helpful in responding to our inquiries and concerns. No mosquitoes and other nasty insects in the rooms except for 2 roach encounters. They let us use their stove for free to heat up water for our bath as well as reheat the food we brought with us. The beds are comfy enough as well as the beddings and duvet. We were allowed to bring our own food and drinks (even beer). AGAIN, the staff are very helpful (even past midnight when we needeed to buy something from the store beside the resort) which is super important in my book. CONS: Water flow in the bathroom is pretty weak. The flush works but not all the way. There's no bidet and toilet seat. A pail is provided, though. If there's 20 of you, it might be tough having to share 2 toilets but there's 2 more common shower and toilets (without tanks) by the pool which are clean. They even let us use the bathroom in their nipa house when all the restrooms were occupied. Their pet dogs and cats are loitering about, looking for scraps. The elders didn't like them but I thought they're pretty sweet and tame. It's no walking distance from shops and restaurants but they do have a neighbor who has a small store. You can ride a tricycle there for PhP 20.00 if you want to go to town proper. Plus, I think the owner actually has a restaurant somewhere in the city and they'll gladly cater to your group at the resort as long as you inform them ahead of time. We were able to order set breakfasts for our group. There's no wi-fi. Cellphone signal is weak inside the rooms. If you're looking for a place to accommodate a large group of people (our group were mostly senior citizens who preferred to be all together in one place, disliked sleeping in bunk beds and climbing stairs), then this is your best bet. It's like a homey rest house in Baler. If you're planning to surf and beachbum, you're better off at a beachfront resort. Just remember that this is a transient house, not a hotel/ b&b/ motel. Bring toiletries, bath towels, drinking water, toilet paper, etc. Don't expect luxuries or city house facilities. If they could improve their plumbing and other facilities, it'll be even better. I enjoyed the time I spent here with my relatives and family. Plus, I will never forget the hospitality of the people in the resort. Thank you so much to everyone at Clemente Resort.. :) …
